  • Comicbook host Brandon Davis sat down with legendary film maker M. Night Shyamalan, Josh Hartnett, and Saleka Shyamalan to talk about their incredibly tense new thriller "TRAP", and how it gets the audience to cheer for amonster...how Shyamalan manages to keep cranking up the tension in every single scene...and just how hard it was for Josh Hartnett to put a character like Cooper behind him when the film was done!

Great freaking questions! Also, Night is the Punk Rocker of film makers. DIY, Original, calls the shots, and just freaking goes for it. Mad respect.

I’ve always loved original movies and franchise too. But I prefer original stories because those do stick with you.
Can I say how great this interviewer is! Love how he gives everyone their own attention and their own questions.

    Thank you for the explanation
Ya it hits hard to me, when Lady Raven was brought to the house and how she broke to the family that the caring husband the mother always knew is a serial killer
I can feel the devastation. It hits right to the heart

Had to laugh when the interviewer brought up Josh's eyes to Saleka after mentioning it to both Josh first and then M. Night.... he's not letting that go.

such a good movie not perfect but what is, it did it's job it's entertaining I don't understand the immediate hate it got, the singer kinda pulled me out cause of her acting but I like the storyline, the dark jokes are actually so funny which is something I always loved about his movies

I watched this movie last night with high expectations, but alas - it fell short of every mark. An interesting concept, but poor execution and lacking grit/realism to the point it verged on the comedic.

Like all movies so is this one lots of work that was puted in... all involved gave their best...
And in terms of storytelling: this movie has no story...
It shows in a bad way the fear of a serialkiller... in most movies like that, this fear is just a side story... But Manoj made it to his main plot...
all in all this movie deserves 2 stars out of 5...
It's a good NETFLIX or AMAZON movie BUT NOT FOR BIG CINEMA!
And since Manoj got made this movie, maybe he is right and I am wrong...

Yeah, his movies truly are escapes from reality, more than most other directors. I really-respect the way that he shamelessly promoted his daughter and her musical talent with Trap. No one can honestly say that this is ALL 100% nepotism. She DOES have singing talent. This movie just brought a lot more publicity to what has already been there for a few years now.

    • @mgariepy42

There IS a story! We follow a psychopath who chopped up 12 victims in 7 years treating his daughter to a 20,000 seat pop concert and tries to find a way to escape the trap set for him. THAT is the preposterous concept that plays out in a suspenseful cat and mouse game with a tongue in cheek flavor. Some of the scenes were hilarious. This is no big twist movie (though there’s a lovely reveal in it). It’s not a slasher movie and Cooper is made out to be as sympathetic as he is deadly. We’re rooting for him to escape! Until….😊
