Thank you for this tutorial, your instructions are clear and easy to follow along, I always have a hard time understanding patterns, so visual tutorials are a godsend
i love this look however ive never done a puff stitch & trying to follow you was really hard lol i couldn’t really tell where you were stitching. gonna keep trying ❤️
This is gorgeous! I think since I've been crocheting for many years I can follow along very easy, regardless of white in white lol I suggest others go to your upper right corner and slow down the video a little. This will give you time to see what she's doing.
Hi Amanda, the stitch looks beautiful. There are comments that the finished product would not fit the head. Is it possible to crochet lengthwise (instead of width-wise) to the desired length and then join the two ends?
I've done that stitch before. Pretty Ear warmer. 😊 Very easy. ❤️ Okay. This one will be my second one I will make. You can make so many different styles of these and colors.😊 Looks like regular white to me. 😊
@Amanda, I had worked on many knitting projects; but believe me this turned out to be my most lovable stitch ❤️ I used white color shiny yarn for border braids and maroon for middle one. About length, based on my experience I did 90 chains at base line (for adults) and the fitting is perfect. I loved it, thanku😋 keep posting
Definitely gonna give this a shot :D But I may take a shot in the dark with it and try to work in rounds to avoid that visible seam (in utter theory when I get to the final chain I'd go through that chain and the bottom chain of the first DC of the 1st row, DC into that first chain space and then puff stitch into the chain space I would have just created at the "seam") Edit: I may have divised a simpler way to do rounds: chain 59, slip stitch to the original chain (to make a circle) chain 3 and then work as normal, reversing at the end of every row to achieve the braided look (gonna give this a try first and leave the results below :) )
Sorry for the delay 😅 It went pretty good, and I crocheted a big sunflower to attach to it at the end, but I don't think the person I gave it to ever actually used it :/ But the "modified" method worked pretty smooth for me :)
I really like the pattern and trying to follow but it's hard since you are using white yarn on a white background and it's a little out of focus. But I'm going to give it a try. Thank you for the beautiful stitch.
Beverly Washington I am so sorry! I must admit I didn’t realize these things until I had already recorded it, and by then it was too late. I hope you are still able to make it alright!
I love how detailed the video is and how easy the stitch it. But my finished band turned out to be way shorter in length although I had measured the chain to fit around my head. Now I am thinking about crocheting another band and joining the two as it is too pretty to undo or waste. Any ideas what I should do for the joining?
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was looking for the braided puff stitch for a headband.. Unlike other tutorials on this stitch, you say to insert (from 2nd row+1) on the top of the puff stitch and not in the chain space, this is so clever! This way it hides the top of the double crochet that could stick out and the chain made to secure the puff.. thank you so much :) Indeed a darker background'd be better but anyway we still get it :)
Amanda, could you consider using a contrasting color between yarn and background? White on white is very hard to see the stitches. Thank you for your tutorials!
Hi all! Do you have to use wool yarn for this and for those who made it, can you tell me how many extra chains you used to make this fit? Is see some saying that the finished product is way to small using the directions given. Thanks in advance and I can’t WAIT to try this!
For me, it is hard to see because the picture gets cloudy and then clears up several times as you are moving along. So I am trying to see where the top of the puff stitch goes in row 2. I did my first sample with worsted wt yarn but it felt a bit heavy and was hard to work with. The next sample was also worsted wt but was a bit lighter and so the holes were a bit bigger. I am making headbands for my niece and her daughter and think this is a great pattern. I will try with example #3 yarn and hopefully, it will go better. Wish me luck.
May I just clarify one thing? In 2:30, I'll add more chains to the foundation if it doesn't meet the ends whenever I try to fit in my head, right? Just wanna make sure since I'm quite scared to modify the countings.
The puff stitches for the second and subsequent rows go in the space between the double crochet and the accompanying puff stitch of the row below. Don't give up.. it comes out really nice!
Hi ! I tried to make this headband but I don't know why but it increases by itself since 3 row I think :'( I dont' know how to "not" increase it... I will try one more time but I'm a little frustrated... Any advice for beginner ? I love your tutoriel by the way :)
Animalpanike98 Hi there! I am so sorry this is happening! Unfortunately I have no way of knowing what is going on unless I see your work. I recommend slowly watching the tutorial step by step to see if you are accidentally adding a stitch. Keep me updated!
Oooooh you were right ! I was doing my puff stitck into the big chain space and not into the small one. I guess it was increasing by this way ! I love this ! Thank you !!! ♥
What was the thought process behind doing a tutorial with white yarn on a white background? Should've used the gray you showed or literally any other color so it's easier to see.
I thought this was a very good tutorial, but in the beginning when I had my chain of single, it fit around my head and by the end it is way to small and can’t fit around my head
One more tip, at beginning keep spare yarn and then start chaining. When you come to end of 1st row, check if it fits your head, if you find it short use the spare yarn left at beginning to extend stitches at base line, and continue row 1- this will surely give a perfect fit. I hope you find this helpful, thank you 🤗
This is a lovely pattern but working with white yarn on white background doesn't make it easy to see details 😕 Also the camera going in and out of focus doesn't help. I'm a beginner and I find it quite difficult to follow cause I can't see what you're doing.
I am stunned, happy, overwhelmed with joy I found your channel. Thank you for your one on one and your patience. Happy 😂
Thank you for this tutorial, your instructions are clear and easy to follow along, I always have a hard time understanding patterns, so visual tutorials are a godsend
One day and done....six rows does make it look awesome...I placed buttons where the ends joined...so cute..thanks for sharing!
Lynda L. Buttons are a great addition!
My thoughts for joining! How do you like the buttons?
Really nice tutorial! I'm a beginner and was a bit intimidated, but this tutorial is really well done, now I can't wait to try it!
i love this look however ive never done a puff stitch & trying to follow you was really hard lol i couldn’t really tell where you were stitching. gonna keep trying ❤️
naja wood Don’t give up! It comes out very beautiful b
I have always loved the puff stitch!
Wonderful idea! Thank you so much!
Kathleen Vassallo Thanks girl!

Your videos are a little dark but I love the way the headband turned out and your instructions seem simple. Thank you!
Sorry about the lighting, I am working on it I promise!!! Glad you liked it in the end 😊
Yes it is beautiful ill try to make one
Super cute. Thanks.
Thank you for nice pattern

Wowwww i love this everything love you😘
I have never worked this stitch before but managed to make me a lovely ear warmer following your tutorial. Thank you 😊

I love this, making it right now❤

I just made one and it came out beautifully..thank you soo much for the pattern and explaining in detail...

Splendid teaching tutorial.
I really like this pattern, thank you! I would love to see it used for other projects
Yay! I’m so glad that you liked it!
Would like it to get started quicker it is a beautiful one just what I want thank you so much
Super cute headband. Thanks for sharing. You are really cute too! I like following along. I’ll go check out your other videos now! ☺️
Wow I love this!!! when I first saw the pattern I thought it was going to be super difficult but its totally not! love the tutorial girl!!!!
Cassandra Gomez Thank you so much!!!! I am so glad you found it easy!!! ♥️☺️
Just found you!!! Love the way u teach!!! ❤️❤️
Amanda, could you consider using a contrasting color between yarn and background? White on white is very hard to see the stitches. Thank you for your tutorials!
I love the puff stitch but prefer to do it not lengthwise but maybe the other as it would give a t more stretch !
I love your tutorial. Thanks a ton.
Lovely explanation... ur the best tutor 😍😍😍😍
LOVE THIS VIDEO
I love this stitch! It looks like a lot of fun to work up
Very nice like the way you explain.
Very clear.
Thank you.
I like it

Beautiful!
Yea! I actually finished it. TY!
I really like this pattern. Good video. Do you have your patterns written out somewhere? I tried your links and couldn’t get anywhere.
For me, it is hard to see because the picture gets cloudy and then clears up several times as you are moving along. So I am trying to see where the top of the puff stitch goes in row 2. Awesome
I just made this and it came out great! Thanks so much!💝
hey, did you have a problem with it somehow growing in length?
I feel dizzy with all the blurriness.
I love this video its amazing❤
May I just clarify one thing? In 2:30, I'll add more chains to the foundation if it doesn't meet the ends whenever I try to fit in my head, right? Just wanna make sure since I'm quite scared to modify the countings.
I lovvee it girl , it's amazing and elegant.. wow I'm gonna try it inchallah.
How do you know how high you pull so you consistently pull the same amount ?
End of row two 13:57
If I got super bulky yarn should I just do less than 5 in the puff stitch to keep it from getting too chunky?
Ovoxoxokayla Yes, I would recommend doing less than 5
Thanks for asking this. As I'm using a bulky yarn and 5 is too much for my hook. I just love the pattern that I want to do this.
Mine is twisting like a snake. When I match ends it looks like a lapel for a choir boy. Love the pattern tho! Any tips?
This is lovely! Thank you ❤️
How much yarn did you use?
If toy DON'T want to use wool yarn; what substitute should I use AND what weight should I use... 4 or 5?
So there should be 7 loops on your hook when doing the puff stich. Right?
I still am not sure where to put the puff stitch in the second row!! This is a good tutorial, but maybe having white on white wasn't the best idea😂
Fruit Salad I agree! I should not have done that and I haven’t done it since! I definitely learned my lesson with that on this video!
The puff stitches for the second and subsequent rows go in the space between the double crochet and the accompanying puff stitch of the row below. Don't give up.. it comes out really nice!
I’d like a whole beanie made like that.
That can happen!
Is there a written pattern? I’ve looked but don’t see one.
How much do these go for??
Mine is curving around into a circle. Where did I go wrong??
Hi ! I tried to make this headband but I don't know why but it increases by itself since 3 row I think :'( I dont' know how to "not" increase it... I will try one more time but I'm a little frustrated... Any advice for beginner ? I love your tutoriel by the way :)

Oooooh you were right ! I was doing my puff stitck into the big chain space and not into the small one. I guess it was increasing by this way ! I love this ! Thank you !!! ♥
Actually, I've started a project with the same stitches, well I think I will review it again and make a headband instead 😅.
What was the thought process behind doing a tutorial with white yarn on a white background? Should've used the gray you showed or literally any other color so it's easier to see.
My name is Amanda to :3
Aha, now I see why mine keeps curling 😂 I should put a stitch marker. I can do this!
Turned out to small. Very cute but had to add stitches to each end to make it work.
Same for me 🙄
I think you can make 75 chains instead...
I made an extension so it could fit me 😅
I thought this was a very good tutorial, but in the beginning when I had my chain of single, it fit around my head and by the end it is way to small and can’t fit around my head
Katelyn Mondello I am sorry this happened! I have totally been there but just know that the finished product is so worth it!!!
Same thing happened to me! 😞
Hey, I used 90 chains (age group 25 plus) and the fitting is just perfect. Good luck 👍
One more tip, at beginning keep spare yarn and then start chaining. When you come to end of 1st row, check if it fits your head, if you find it short use the spare yarn left at beginning to extend stitches at base line, and continue row 1- this will surely give a perfect fit.
I hope you find this helpful, thank you 🤗
Should use another colors is hard to see just white
Am i the only one that finds it difficult to go through all the stitches 😕
This is a lovely pattern but working with white yarn on white background doesn't make it easy to see details 😕 Also the camera going in and out of focus doesn't help. I'm a beginner and I find it quite difficult to follow cause I can't see what you're doing.
Looks too hard
You keep going out of focus
Lovely explanation... ur the best tutor 😍😍😍😍
