  • We are crocheting a headband using the Waffle Stitch! This headband is created to fit an adult size head.
You will need 120 yards of size 4 worsted weight yarn, 4mm G Crochet Hook, Scissors, and a yarn needle.
We are using Chain, Double Crochet, and Front Post Double Crochet stitches in todays tutorial.
If you want to follow the written pattern you can find that here:

I like that this pattern is worked from side to side instead of top to bottom. It's so frustrating making a headband top to bottom only to find out it's way too big or small after two or three rows and you have to frog it and start over. I made this one with fine chenille and it came out beautiful!

I'm really not understanding the Stitch count at all. I have 18 DC on the first row not 17 , if I follow the Stitch repeat (3 fpdc,1dc)I'm left with 1dc and the 3ch turning chain on row 2. I have frogged my work a few times now, I just don't get it. Is my stitch count wrong or is the video wrong? I love the waffle stitch and your waffle stitch headband is so lovely,I hope I can work it out. Please can someone let me know if they have had the same problem or is it me getting confused ? Sending love ❤️

Yes her explanation shows 5 squares but if you look at the headband at the beginning of the video, there are 4 squares.
