Imagine that: No ‘trail control’, no e-lockers, no cameras, no touchscreens, no “mud and ruts” settings, and yet it still somehow went just fine through the trail.
Have another video coming up comparing Big Green to a modern Silverado off-road. You'll have to watch for the full result, but the short version: BG is just more fun than any modern off-roader. I love it.
Yeah, I agree with that. Not to say old trucks are worry free , but there’s a certain something about a truck with no electronics and solid axles. Not worried to scratch it here and there.
Love the Big Green content, even back to when Roman and Mr. Truck on TFL used it on an Ike Gauntlet run with its original 305 cid V-8. The downhill portion was pretty white knuckle-ish!
It is good to see big green have not seen it in a while glad it is still around nothing like mudding in a simple old school truck big green did that better then most new trucks could have ever done
Big green has so much character!old school boxes styled! Easier and simpler. Hever beat driving daddies old truck you have connections to every thing him. Analog and memories of driving the old family member. I remember when you brought her from tfl. You gave her more life. Canada style!
Oh good grief!!!!!!! No lockers? Not even the very common G80? (I had one in my 83 S10 Blazer, saved me a few times) No lockers, no break locking computers or engine stalling traction control.. Just good old fashioned lots of ground clearance and great mud tires. And I suppose great flexing solid axle suspension. Old school all the way. And Big Green literally laughed at every thing you could throw at it. Of course, there is a downside: daily driver and highway trips. So, for those of us who can only have one, some compromises must be made. Hence all the tricks they have come up with to make up for a lack of the above listed old fashioned benefits. But, non of these tricks fully accomplish making up for the loss of those benefits. Not even close.
Love seeing Big Green in action! I have had a few sets of Kumho tires, generally good experience with the exception of tread wear. I have found the Toyo MT's give me the best service overall, and I have tried many different brands.
Yes, but hub locks have nothing to do with locking differentials. They simply lock the hubs to the axle shafts to allow 4WD to work. So it's not like a diff lock that splits the power.
Was super excited to see Big Green on the trail again. In theory I will finally being putting my 73 K20 on a trail this year after 4 years of dealing shop issues. Started as a stock 350 with turbo 350 trans. Similar build. 35" Muds on a 4" Offroad Design Suspension Lift with a 383 and a 700r4 and Yukon locker rear and Yukon limited slip front. Cant wait to see if i choose the correct upgrades for it. Lol

I mean he is just driving through water...

Big green has got to be one of the oldest trucks on youtube. I remember when that was built up on T.F.L
YUKON lockers needs to sponsor you and give you some front and rear lockers.
❤ the Big Green OBS - a real PU truck ! How about ask Andre to drive the cyber truck to Ontario & you guys go to a local mud bog event !!
Single cab, long bed with a v8 and four wheel drive. Take that you water cooler cowboys dripping with technology!
And a manual transmission!!!

Love that truck, put a winch on the front bumper and it would be perfect.
Loved it...and all your videos Steve & Dad.....One of my Top channels !! Thanks Guys
The green beast!!
My favorite videos are the ones with big green
Big GREEN! 👍
Love the truck!
Nice tires, too bad they don't come with white lettering. An off road tire looks good with white lettering.
Love Big Green! Besides Chevy’s ‘72 body style (and my 2014 of course 😅) the square body is definitely in my top 3!

I don’t like GM vehicles and I still LOVE that truck. Truly an amazing demonstration of how much the basics can help. Tires, clearance, solid axles.

Love it, huge fan of the channel, please sell big green to me.
Never miss your videos
First thing I saw this morning while sporting a flu, and it made me smile immediately. Thanks for shooting this!
How do you get into your tool box with the train horns? 🤔
Awesome love seeing content with this truck!
Hey Steve whats up with the horns??😁😁
Be sure to drink your Ovaltine? Ralphie would be disappointed.

looks like this tire gonna be one of the candidate to replace my current maxxis 764 tire.
Great video and tire review
I will take a Cooper any day over Kumho. Those Koreans struggle to make quality products.
Fix the rear corner of bed by rear wheel. No Canuck should be allowed to own a square Chevy!!! Blahahahaha
Older is better and stronger. Engineers were not managed by bean counters and allowed to design things a bit stronger than needed for everyday use..
That old truck just flexes off road. They don't make them like that anymore
Now that's a truck folks.
I've daily driven a square for ten years now. Never looked back.
Big Green rides again! Love this ol' truck!
Big green has front hub lockers

Please stop saying, "To be honest". It detracts from your argument.
Excellent Video
you should do the same test with the coopers or did you run the coopers through the swamp in another video
Back when GM made pretty good trucks.
Was super excited to see Big Green on the trail again.

Handsome truck 🔥 my dream squarebody
Love this old truck. Much rather have something like this vs. the new crap offered today on the market.
Big Green made the 'deep' section look not so deep! It dwarfs all those obstacles and cruises through. Thanks for the video
Morning Steve!!! Thanks Man!!
One of the best trucks ever built
I love the square bodies!
Awesome episode!!! 😁
why the members only stuff
3 ply sidewall?
Nice truck! 👍
Big Green is one handsome truck!
Big Green! 🎉
Single cabs dont get enough credit and the truck is still looking good
