    Pro tip: if you don't want to have to let it connect to your wifi just to use it as a basic TV, do the "store" set up option up front, not the "home" option. If you go the "home" route it demands access to your network just to use it at all.

    I've bought 3 of these, a 50 for my grandmother's living room and 2 43s for my aunt's bedroom and my office. They're one of the best bang for your buck TVs.

    Back in the day tv reviews included tuner performance. Not everyone streams their local TV stations. It doesn't make sense when OTA has better image quality. I'd like to see sites like this include it in their reviews.

    Are these similar to the Insignia and ONN brands of TVs? Havent found reviews of those bargain basement LEDs

      Way better picture and performance than ONN I had one, the panel went out after 14 months of use

    Question about the sound quality - I hear that most modern TVs do not have great sound, but I don't have a point of comperison to an older TV.
    I've got a 2012 Emerson 32" TV that I've finally gotten sick of. Can I reasonably expect that a modern TV will at least match the sound of a decade-old TV, or is there a reason I shouldn't assume that?

      I wouldn't do that. Lower end TCL's have a lot of screen uniformity issues. I have this ROKU tv & it's a very good tv for the price.

      Yep TCL uniformity is crap. Never had issues with Roku so I'm trashing another TCL and getting another Roku
