You know, Lon I bought one of these and I love it. I have a Samsung 1080p tv that I have had since 2010. I hooked it on with an optical cable since it doesn't have an HDMI arc. I have to say the streamer is great and the sound is great. I know their larger streaming sound bar is probably a little better? But, that's fine? I am happy with the one I bought.
I do not currently have a Roku device but I always had good luck with them. I would buy one today if they would bring back the headphone jack on the remote. I connect bluetooth headphones to my current devices but I always found it convenient to just keep a pair of wired headphones in the living room to plug in.
@@LonSeidman Yes you can do this with the Android/iOS app, but at least on all the Motorola Moto G phones I've owned since the Moto G4(currently have a Moto G Power 2020) have had issues when using Bluetooth headphones, and audio sync where the video on my TV lags behind the audio, so I'm glad I still have a headphone jack on my phone, as wired works mostly but I do get the random pop/glitch in the audio stream.
Got it when it first hit the market, looked at the promo photos of the remote and knew the volume and mute buttons on the side would be an issue and I was right. Keep hitting the mute button when I pick up the remote which you have not mentioned and am sure you must have noticed yourself but failed to mention. Al in all I still love it despite the remote design flaw.
Thanks for clarifying that HDMI input still passes through video/audio, just if you use it with a monitor, which never use ARC, it will still work, but only when you're in the Roku side of things, not when in PC use, from what I gather. Thanks!
Bought this a few days ago, not sure yet how I'm liking it.... I do have a question, how Ioud have you taken the volume? It seems when I turn it up, the bass sounds like blown speakers from back in the day with old stereo systems. Thanks in advance!
How does the Roku remote know to shutdown the TV that this soundbar is connected to? The ARC connection only acts as an audio passthrough so that if I watch live TV from my cable TV provider whose input is the coax on the TV, the sound of this live TV comes out of the Roku soundbar instead of the speakers built into the TV. However, this ability to control the power shutdown the TV should have nothing to do with the ARC connection, right?
Anyone have any thoughts on using this as a computer soundbar? Looking for something small form factor as a decent computer soundbar but don't have the budget of a Sonos. Should note that I have the MinisForum HX90 which has available HDMI ports.
Have a problem with the Roku Streambar and there is zero help from Amazon! We love it and it was working perfectly until last night. Had it one week and the controller will not turn off the new roku TV or turn it on. We had to do it by unplugging or using another Roku box controller to turn it off and on. Any ideas on home to fix this defect?
Can this be placed on a shelf to the side of the TV and get the same sound results? My wall mount flat screen does not have anyway to attach below the TV.
Do you know if it sends audio via HDMI too? the tv speakers sound too when you´re watching something from netflix for example, i want to be able to get sound from the tv and the sound bar at the same time
Can I connect my RUclips TV account to it? My parents just bought one and they're asking me how to do it, I think the answer may be the optic cable, but I'm not sure 😟
Yeah! The optical cable works fine. You have to make sure their tv has one. Also it's very easy to connect your roku account to it. Just use your phone to connect it to RUclips.
Very helpful! Glad I clicked this review first because you covered EVERYTHING and didn't just read the features off the box

The ultra still has that feature. Their mobile
App can do it too !

Best buy version of the Roku streaming stick + has the headphone remote and the headphones as well
Very Good Review....after a long time I see someone explaining features and pros and cons in a great way.....Thank you
Thanks, I had been needing a relatively inexpensive sound bar. So I appreciate your giving some help in finding one.
Tries these sound bars brands like I-Live or Onn brands names. Both of these brands have very descent sound bars models around $50-$60.

11:00 - needed for most tech youtube videos these days, where "build montage music" tends to be 3x the volume of the rest of the video.
This is a montage free zone :)

Dumb question, but how well do these play with a RokuTV? I feel have a double Roku environment might be confusing.
Yeah if you have a Roku TV already you might want to just go with a more traditional soundbar.

Hey, I just bought this on your Whatnot stream.
Excellent review! thank you!

Hi, great production... Looked for your OTHER ROKU video which you alluded to in this video...Could not find it
if you connect a hard drive could you use this as a plex server, like you can with the nvidia shield?
Great question.❤
Anyone know how to turn off spontaneous automatic muting on this thing? It's driving me nuts.
I already have a ROKU Tv...I have Firesticks....I just want sound....this likely isn't for me right?
Great video live this idea amazon need to do a version of this
Is an enhanced remote with 3.5mm jack compatible with this?

Can you please tell me how to use it for a Samsung tv and how to connect with Bluetooth. I bought it but I can’t use it probably I will return it
would help to know what is sounds like

@@paulrodriguez8852 Thanks Paul!👍💯
Is the remote line-of-sight or RF like the Ultra remote?
That's a RF controller.
how about atmos ??
No mention of AirPlay 2 support Lon
Will be covered in an upcoming video
Just update the latest software version and you will have Air Play
My grandparents literally just a Roku Streambar this Month, Expect my grandparents just got The Longer one though
mine only lasted 3 months then bass speakers blew out, when it worked I loved it, but not worth for 3 months use
And T-mobile TVision isn't supported either. ATM
Bought one -- Never again.
Not reliable and not supported by Roku.
Do Not buy.
Mine comes in tomorrow. Hopefully my old tv has hdmi arc!!
Not Happy. The sound goes out when you change channels or after a commercial. Too irritating to use
This would be selling easily and faster if they prices for $150 and under.$150 and above this thing is over priced.
The retail price for the Roku stream bar is $130 dollars.
All I have is a blinking light
First
Throw the specs up next time.
They did not publish specs on this one.
Lottery rules apply mine is a total piece of crap!!!!!!!!!!!
