This whole sequence is the writers, the animators, and the composer showing respect to what they had built up for over 100+ hours between two games. They knew the expectations they had set with all the build-up they had done, and unlike a lot of others, they actually met, even surpassed, the expectations they had set. I watched this scene and my jaw was dropped the whole time. This scene is an achievement that this team should be nothing but proud of.
This scene always give me goosebumps. The kiseki series is so good. 😁
I dont know why they stop including cinematic cutscene in cold steel. This scene and car chase scene from zero is so good
Whilst I love the modern Trails games, they still haven't come anywhere near what SC did in gravitas. From the build up, to the STILL amazing 3D animation cutscenes they use for this and the fight with the airships. Sends shivers every time I watch these.
Holy..fucking...shit, this might be THE BEST "reveal" scene in any game Ive played.
The way the Liber Ark appears.
Even the smartest man on that ship starting to freak out and yell orders.
It knocking out ALL orbal technology for what seems like enough to knock out all of the U.S and Canada combinde if it appeared in our world.
The GOD tier music.
And of course Weissman with that epic villain monologue.
I wouldn't change a thing.

They really pulled off hitting you with that feeling of "Submit before the absolute power of the heavens themselves"
Like you went into this knowing what the Aureole was to an extent, from an objective standpoint, but seeing it right before your eyes you're hit with a much deeper understanding of how utterly screwed you are, no?

This might be my favorite moment in any JRPG ever. You spend 100+ hours in TitS FC and most of SC trying to figure out who the villains even are, and then what their plan is, and then they do *this*
And it's not even their actual plan! Just stage three!
And then a few games later it turns out the Gospel Plan as a whole is just the first stage of the Orpheus Final Plan...

Usually I'd be mad for seeing such major spoilers in comments, but Ouroboros is kind enough to have 500 different plans with noncomprehensible names
After playing for 100 hours, and finally understanding what you've been trying to stop for those hours, witnessing this scene with this music just gives you the sweetest chills
Literal goosebumps I got when I arrived at this scene I couldn't stop freaking out how epic this was and the MUSIC was god tier as well, simply amazing
I just got to this scene myself and holy shit... it was GLORIOUS... pun intended
This is the scene where I lost my shit when I was playing. I was at such hype as to what was the Aureole and booooooooooy the scene didn't disappoint, the ost didn't disappoint, the way things scaled up to this point didn't disappoint.

First time I watched this I literally got goosebumps all over the place. The hype is real.
True that, I still get goosebumps watching this. The music, the animation, its sheer size..and the build up to it....simply epic
I must admit, you got the damn ideal timing to make 2nd phase of animation in tact with the music: how it climaxed right at the moment with ZF-pulse and lowering the tone just when Glorious appears. It just... seems like it mas made to be like that, but yeah, i really doubt everyone flashed through sentences between 1st and 2nd phase that fast
Yeah, people will go through the scene at different speeds but I do think I got the perfect timing that was perhaps intended by the composer. It’s interesting that it lines up this well if the player keeps reading the dialogue at a constant pace without pauses. I love how the music closes out the chapter too.

Still one of my favorite scenes in all video games ever, right on par with the scene in Star Ocean ~ Till the end of time where they fight spaceships with an army of dragons. =^,^=
I think you will loved a new game called Honkai Star Rail (online) that have space exploration.
My first run, the loud part started playing when the arc released that beam and made the BOOM noise. It made my heart skip a beat needless to say.

After playing the first game and only have one cutscene animated (the opening), it was a shock whenever I saw a cutscene, with Agnard, the Ark, and so on. Now I can play Cold Steel IV AND understand whenever they show the Ark again. XD All I need is play the crossbell titles.
Rewatching this scene reminded me of a crucial world-building point: multiple dimensions exist. I'm betting this factor will be relevant in Ouroboros's ultimate plan.
Arseille is fine but the Bobcat isn't & get crashed into the Liber Ark & the Glorious is unaffected
It was stated in the game that Oroborous has Technology to counter anti orbment field made by Aureole.
@@Ershin666 yeah, if russel could do it within basically a day, im pretty sure ouroboros could do it on a much larger scale essentially since the endgame of the gospel plan involved bringing the aureole back, and they KNEW without a countermeasure that it would render their orbments useless
@@eli6929It was explained that Cassius instructed him to do it for quite a while, he hasn't done it in a day. Though I would admit that most of the time is spent figuring it out rather than making them.
