Came straight here after beating the first game. Haven't had such a simple story told in a way and its ending impacted me so much more that no other JRPGs done.
An underrated and overlooked game outside of Japan. Spread the word! Let the Americans know and buy this so XSEED will translate the rest of the series!
+kageKun Everyone should keeptheir eyes open for the new titles coming. Xseed has officially announced the projected release dates for both Cold Steel 2 (PS3/Vita) and Sora no Kiseki the 3rd (PC). CS2 has been confirmed for Fall 2016 (september is the current date for pre-orders) and the third Trails in the Sky will be coming in Spring 2017 (I imagine that means around March).
i started playing trails around september last year (2023), and i reached reverie now. Man this trails series been a ride, an enjoyable ride. Estelle is the best girl.
The games a bit of a slog, but it has a great world building and consistancy. It has a great story with great characters. The games after the sky arc are also master pieces. I also recommend playing the game, but u need the paitience to go throught the 1st game's slow start. Trust your friend. The game's worth ur time
The first and third Sky games are terrible (loads of filler content and lacklustre gameplay) but the second is one of the best in the entire Kiseki series.

The gameplay is actually really fun, tho it comes down to personal preference. Sky the Third, a lot of people had issues with the game being a sort of dungeon crawler, which i personally really liked. Another point was that it had bad pacing, and, to a certain degree, im inclined to agree, but it never reached the point that it hurt the experience. And also, this game is crucial to the story, it expands a lot the world, while creating new plot points for the future. And of course, it contains one the most impactful scenes i´ve seen in games, the infamous Star Door 15, man that hit hard.
The ending of this game is simply perfect, the second game wouldn't be nearly as memorable if this didn't build the world so well, this music is so beautiful and made me so sad that i had to hop in the next game asap to see how things ended, i'm very glad i found this game, the story, characters and definatelly the OSTs are among my favorites now

I played this game around 2020 and have never regretted my decision to continue playing and interacting with every NPC I encountered. Masterpiece indeed🥲Not to mention the emptiness after finishing the trilogy
imho, this series is much better than the more mainstream jrpgs like Final Fantasy or Persona. Don't get me wrong, there are some games in those other series that are genuinely good and enjoyable, but nothing in my opinion holds a candle to the satisfaction I had with trails. The games are not all perfect, some parts are just tedious but my lord was the payoffs worth it!

Congratulations you've finish part 1 out of 9 or even more. Use the EVO (JP voice) patch next time its 1000% amazing. If you already love the series more than anything else, I encourage you to play the highest difficulty because it is satisfying to beat this game rewarding you with the longest dialogues. In reality this is not the most difficult game of entire JRPG except for Ao. A tip, 100% evasion is the most powerful thing in this series.
To think that it only took two years in Japan for the sequel to be released. Meanwhile, those of us in America had to wait twice that length for SC's localization.
Had this set as my Animal Crossing: New Horizons island tune for the longest time, and now I set this song as the GRUB_INIT_TUNE whenever my Linux PC in the basement starts up (did you know that you could actually set a startup tune for the GRUB bootloader?)
I found this game quite a slog in the beginning, but when I played it with fast forward(turbo mode) and reached the end of the story it became a masterpiece!!!
Just finish all the Trails in the sky games, and now im on to Zero, and holy fuck. Since i was a kid Kingdom hearts been my favorit serie - but no longer legend of hereos is were it is at! There is not a singel charecter i disslike that is how good i think the wrigting is. But that been said i can understand why these games will be a turn off for some. And sorry for my spelling.

The story of this game's localization (or rather the SC) to English is already worthy of a movie alone, let alone the actual game.
