So, SO cool to see Dan and Tim in the same room together. That whole situation ended very awkwardly for viewers and I’m sure (like me) a lot of people don’t know how to address it. You are both awesome RUclipsrs, and were part of each others lives for a LONG time. Even though you’re not collaborating anymore I’m sure you guys still had some type of friendship off camera, so why act like each other don’t exist? This was cool to see.
Great comment, I came to say basically the same thing. Hopefully they can collaborate in the future together. It would be nice seeing Dan, Tim and the MFJJ all in the same video again!
@@bigz5262 No, there would be no reason for that. I'm not sure why you have an issue with people saying that it's nice to see them in the same room but hey, whatever floats your goat. Yes goat, not boat.
25 and 2/8… also known as 25 and 1/4, all good just made for a good laugh. I truly enjoy your videos, your education on elk hunting is awesome. Keep up the good work
Awesome to see the long lost bro hug with former producer Tim. Warms the heart ♥️. I believe that I saw Nick Mundt from Bone 🦴 Collector take an elk with a 327 grain arrow and a G5 Megameat, so you will be fine. However I am glad that you prefaced the video stating that this wasn’t your elk arrow. 🏹
Did Dan just say 2/8's lol love this channel guys keep up the good work in a new bow hunter and have done a long way since last year when I started by following this channel.
Those arrows will do just fine with Antelope for sure. It’s nice to have them flying a little faster for the smaller, faster game anyhow. Good luck Danno
I have been commenting on youtube and archery talk about a similar setup for the past year! I'm glad people are finally seeing that this setup works. Only difference was I use vanetech superspine 1.75, 4 fletch. Nock is a firenock without the light, 5 grains. Ethics Insert/outsert, 80 grains with 100 grain, any mechanical broadhead. My arrow came out at 352 grains with 22.5% FOC.
My antelope arrow is a Easton 6.5 with custom titanium half-out inserts I machined myself. I like the SuperNocks instead of the stock chubby ones and top it with the Muzzy 100 gr. They come out to like 405 gr. and smack a Lope like its been hit by a bowling ball.
Awesome seeing u all together even if it's just running into one another You guy together it was special and awesome to watch You all are still awesome as individuals Love the content
Seeing your quiver full of offsets and no severe helical a few weeks back… makes so much more sense now. I could still go for borrowing a Mini-Max left helical until MFJJ gets a few back in 😉 Stay well - thanks for something to view while napping on the Binos 👍🏻
Can't wait to see the antelope video and how these work out for you. I just put together some Rip TKOs for deer season that will be running Iron Will insert and collar, with their wide 125gr broadhead coming in at 450gr. I might have to look into doing the Rip XV for 3D shoots so that I don't have to go back and forth in rest height for the Easton superdrive 23s and Rip TKOs.
Nice setup should do well for you. If you are wanting that long range accuracy. I would stick with the 2 degree less drag and will retain more kinetic energy at further distance due to the extra speed. Good luck on your hunt. Enjoy all the content as well.
I can believe it! Lol if you hang out at the barber shop, eventually you get a haircut! (MFJJ is the barber shop!) love the content my man! You all have elevated my game x100! All love brother!
22 days and counting for me. Whitetail "Reduction Zone" opens September 15th in Indiana. Been doing double my normal reps the last couple days. I'm runnin' Gold Tip Hunter XT 340's through a Bear Legit at 65lbs and a 30 inch draw. Arrows cut as short as possible at 28 1/4 inches. Total arrow weight will be 431gr with a 125gr broadhead. I may bump the tip weight up a little to get a little more FOC, though. I'm at around 12.25% right now. I haven't decided what broadhead I'm gonna use yet. It will either be a Hades Pro 3 blade, a Buzzcut 4 blade, or G5 Montec. My longest possible shot from either of my stands is 27 yards. That's a short chip shot for you. So tuning them won't be an issue. They all seem to fly really true to the aiming point.
Glad to hear you wont be using them on bigger stuff. As we have seen - lighter arrows are great for targets and bunnies - but where penetration is required (bigger stuff) make sure that the light arrow that is rapidly shedding speed, still has enough energy and especially momentum to get the job done at a distance. I am always amazed to see many of the elk and African game videos showing only a fraction of the arrow penetrating. A light arrow that has shed a lot of speed cannot be expected to push a 2 inch mechanical through a heavy animal. Basic physics.
We have pretty similar hunting arrows but i wondered why yours were so much lighter than mine. Then i saw how short your arrows are and it all made sense 😅 4 inches adds up.
I use these rip xv all of time and love um. My 300 spine are paired with the 50 grain shok tl insert. 359 grain ripping 363 fps through my chrono. They dig so deep into my new target at 60 that I need a puller to get them out. Hoping I get to use them for black bear in September.
Can you give any info on when that new spotting scope will come out? Been looking to get one and don’t want to jump the gun if something awesome is on its way
I made some XV Rips last year at 350gr with a 125gr Montec. Shot a skipper at 10 yards quartering to. Snapped the scapula. Broke the arrow. Shot a second arrow at 30 yards bedded. Double lung, again snapped the arrow. Thought they were a little too brittle for the high energy they have.
Hey dan! What wrist strap are you using on your bow there? Looks good, and Im looking to change my current out. Thanks for your awesome work. Nick from Denmark
Danno...What draw weight for those 347 grainer's? I also am setting this exact arrow up for whitetail this fall. Sub 350 grains with an Iron Will single bevel left. XV 400's cut to 25" c2c with 100 grain head, 50 grain IW HIT and IW 10 grain impact collar. Those RIP XV's tune and fly so damn good out of my set ups. Also just bought some SEVR 1.75's
Should work perfectly. I shoot the Victory Vap SS 300 spine with the 50 grain Podium titanium insert,2 degrees right 440 grains. One arrow for everything.
I am a bit surprised that with all of the data out there about offset v helical that you'd put such a hard twist on your vanes. I build a LOT of arrows every year, and seldom to I find that a bow setup requires more than about a 2 degree offset.
Hey Dan, I've been rocking the hybrid 26's. They aren't as durable as the max stealths. I'll shoot a good group and get some vanes to touch and the vanes will start splitting apart. Are you having the same experience with the hp's?
sorry but clocking does mater imo. im an arizona hunter and practice out to 100 plus yards. i noticed if my arrows clock left and i fletch them right about 50 to 60 yards the arrow screwballs then the fletchings starts to take over and the arrow straightens out and flys straight again. only in slow motion can is see this happen. so you will lose velocity.

That the new vortex micro spotter blurred out or you got something even newer and cooler?
Curious what changed your mind on the clocking? I know I’m the past you preferred true fletch and clicking to match.
I wanna know myself!
He heard John Dudley. All those records and medals, 1.5 degree right offset on arrows that clocked left. It's about stabilization not spin.
@@d500mag2 Dudley actually uses 2 and 2.5 degree right.

God's Blessings on all your adventures this year
Maybe a dumb question, but how do you know how many degrees offset your Bitz is set to? I don't see markings on the dials for degrees left or right

Hybrids are softer - a little more delicate - so don't shoot tight groups into the same target or you're going to have to repair vanes! -DS

Was that on purpose
Could’ve been just the way the sun was shining on it 🤷🏻♂️
With helical the bottom will drop out. At least that was my experience. Especially out past 90. 80 wasn’t super bad. 120 was crazy bad

2/8ths it just 1/4 smart guy
😅 had to let us know off the trip, not the Elk set up
6° helical is too much for long range with a light arrow. Especially with mech heads.
3° helical is where it's at....
