What bothers me about this siren (and frankly most of the sick Thunderbolts out there) is that it is literally in 75% working order. The blower and rotator are both running smoothly, and the chopper is at least still spinning. Literally all it needs is a new solenoid and a new set of brushes, and possibly new bearings as well. It’s such a cheap and easy fix (and there’s a certain siren enthusiast who lives not too far from there who I’m sure would be happy to repair it), yet the people who maintain the siren won’t budge
Thunderbolts can easily run for up to 10 years with brush/collector ring issues. As long as the chopper motor is getting some sort of an electrical connection, it will just keep running
This ones blower situation is a special case. I also noticed that it sounds odd. This is because the solenoids block out a lot of air that is supposed to escape from the chopper, so the pressure buildup causes the pressure relief valve to open up. With both solenoids working, you'd hear a constant sound of air escaping, but since one is inoperative, you hear a cool combo of the blower sound and air escaping
This thing went off 3 times in one week for fire calls. I went back in November, sounded better than in this video but solenoid is still broken.
3:59 There i go runnin' XD

Yea it got refurbished again after the chopper decided to spit smoke
Just like catnap@@Godzilla20191
When the siren gets refurbeshed and I get a chance to see the siren, I too will get myself a brick from the fire station.
Wish I could see a thunderbolt,like ever...
But it probably won't happen. But collecting a brick like that? Yas
Its actually almost done being refurbished.

5:42 That blower sounds really bad.
The blower is fine. It’s a 5M model, so it sounds a bit different from the standard 4M models that you are probably used to headlong.
When it ran alert a few days ago it sounded perfect when i went under it.
Are you all
to be at the fire department today
is that a 5m blower

5m tight air broken solenoid combo sound cool similarly to jaycee Park 1000
Probably the most famous 1003 ahaha. Shame they won't repair it.
Yeah, it is one of the most famous 1003s on youtube, and it is SUPER loud.
That has now changed as it’s getting refurbished

why is it called the "silver street" thunderbolt
Because it’s located in Silverstreet South Carolina, a little town in Newberry South Carolina.
@@anonymousarsonist9653 yea but is there anything special about it?
@@dangerousnoodle3730 the town? I have no clue, the siren? It’s been there for 59 years.
@@anonymousarsonist9653 yea the siren
Newberry county is very historic, it was founded in 1785.

a solenoid isnt doing its job
Why isn't that siren wearing a mask?
stay safe
Because it isn’t a living thing therefore it cannot catch a virus as it is a machine.
