- BTS (behind-the-scenes) footage shot during yesterday's test in Thomaston, Georgia.
The siren seen in this video is a McCranie Warning Systems refurbished Federal Sign & Signal Thunderbolt 1003A. As pointed out in this video, the head of this siren originally came from Sherman, Texas, and it is somewhat famous for being the very 1003 that was featured on the Civil Defense Museum website. The blower is reportedly from Wichita Falls, Texas, while the source of the controls is currently unknown.
Good to see it in service after sitting in my garage for so many years.
Wait that’s the one you owned?
Wich one
@@randomthings9286 yes.
Wow
I wished there's any memories of archive videos of Sherman older Thunderbolt 1003's and even 2T22's that's use to be to see it the archive video that's going off.
Alternate title: Will looks at scenery while a tornado siren tests.
Hint: there's not an FC in that box
Awesome Video! This was very entertaining to watch lol.

@@SNIXC I know that. It's been gone for about 30 years.
@@SolidSableye Maybe there has to be many histories of old Sherman Thunderbolt 1003 videos that was there for years ago some where on websites.
Huh saw yall filming today had no idea anyone filmed these
YES, ERIC'S 1003
I'm going to take this thunderbolt out of envy, say goodbye to it
Very funny
Texas edition yesss
My guy looks like hes straight out of the 70s
Do they test it in hi lo ever? If not, then whats the point in a 1003 if its not gonna do hi lo.
iirc the solenoids were gutted, plus it's just a head that was laying around so it was used. The solenoids are just another moving part that can break. That's also why MWS doesn't install 3T22s.
The one at Camp Thunder still has its RCM3, I think they actually kept the solenoids in that one for some reason.
Does it have a 5M?
No, A traditional 4M.
I thought McCranie put 6ms in their bolts.
@@anonymousarsonist9653 Nope
@@Joethaboss66 Ok
@OWS of the South yeah, i know that, the way that person worded their comment made it seem like they were saying every refurb had a 6M.
