HO Scale Thunderbolt 1003 Modification & Assembly Process

- All footage originally recorded in February 2021. I intended to make this video shortly after my review of the model, however, time would say otherwise. Now after almost a year of 0 siren content, it's time to get back into what got this channel where it is now.
Airplane content will still be coming, but I'll do my best to get more siren content to you guys. I have a few models ready to be ordered and plans to build them and show them off. Full plans can be seen on my community page.

Nice! I just finished modeling a 1/87 P-50, but I need to get a 3D printer before I can print/sell them. I would cast them but I have no idea how to.

@@rpgiv3175 so, my birthday present ended up being broken, so we returned it, so now I got a 3D printer! I’ll be doing a test print tonight, and getting them sold asap. I’ll also be modeling the type they have in Morrison, IL.

@@rpgiv3175 I hope I can, it'll be a lot work and long process but it'll look awesome ik that for sure. Also thanks, tho I've taken a break from modeling recently, tho I plan to get back into it. I think I rlly lost my patience with the fire department I was putting together. Dang thing didn't have step by step instructions so it got confusing which lead to me getting mad and quiting for a while.

How did you make the solenoids
I cut them out of styrene plastic parts

can u make the siren with out the solenoids or do u have to put them on? just curious because i'm thinking about purchasing some one day
They are sold without the solenoids by default, I created the solenoids on my own to make a 1003

Will spray paint work?
Yes but I don't recommend using spray paint. Try hand painting with a paintbrush or using an airbrush
@@rpgiv3175 why not? Just curious, want to make them as good as yours
@@SkepticalGames14 spray paint tends to coat the model very quickly and it may fill up small details with excess paint. You can give it a try but it usually doesn't work well with smaller models. All I can advise is if you do choose to use spray paint is to be patient, use multiple light coats instead of one heavy coat

im not sure how my comment was deleted, I think it was a YT error, but I might try to do solenoid wires in one way or another (then again the weather head on this model can’t rotate)
If you do figure that out I'd definitely be intrigued. I think the comment deleted since I made the video private for a short time due to an issue I needed to fix in the video
@@rpgiv3175 makes sense, I was doing homework while that happened so I must have not noticed it.
I remember when I asked for a thunderbolt model on a firehouse building if I remember correctly.. unfortunately I was told that I couldn't get it because of the thing that happened to where he couldn't give custom models anymore, but that was fine
