Hi Hannah, you brought a smile to my face today, thank you, I love your enthusiasm. You obviously enjoy life. I was so disappointed when I went looking for more of your videos to only find a few. Please keep them coming and bringing joy to a presently sad world. Cheers Andrew (Wollongong). P.S. Cheers to Anton on the camera.
Can't sleep, trawling gardens & your video popped up, love it! Hubby & I, both in our 50s have always had a garden, never too old to learn something new, landed me here, love your enthusiasm & very useful tips, hoping for plenty more of your videos. Stay safe Australia, Cheers from Central NSW
Hannah!...You are doing a Great Job getting us all focussed on our veggie garden, by being communicating so clearly with all your demo’s and instructions!...👏👏👏
Hannah, making your signs during the video, while you're talking about them. Really makes it stick in my mind and helps visually get your point across. Wonderful addition to a video. Thanks
A quick tip to help the audio leveling with the camera going back and fourth, depends on what software you edit the videos with but try isolating the audio and making different track levels when the sound goes up and down. Let me know anyway maybe I can help out with upping that production a bit. But otherwise great video and awesome tips I will be using on my Victorian farm now this winter in Gippsland
Hannah .... one of the most informative, fun and useful videos I have seen on vegetable planting. You are an inspiration to all budding home providers and there’s no doubt you won’t need to be running to the local shops every few days! Nice one! Neil, Cornwall, UK
Hannah you make planting seem so simple and easy, which it is... we sometimes forget that! I tend to over complicate things, it’s nice to see someone as experienced as you being so confident and unworried about how to do things... thanks thanks thanks!!! 🙏❤️🌱
Ahhhh this makes me so happy!!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. So much more enjoyable than reading a packet! Anddd I love how you make your own cardboard signs - I'm inspired xx
Your videos are amazing, I'm new to gardening and you are definitely a big help thank you so much for your time and input into these awesome videos. Looking forward to more content, I have subscribed and put my bell on so I don't miss anything. Much love from NZ
I made a trellis by stapling old wire coat hangers to a fence and interlinking them with curtain rings. Was really cool. I moved away from that house, but will do it again one of these days.
Damien Croft I have an awesome indoor clothes line in this house. It’s a huge rack attached to the exposed beams, with a winch to raise and lower it. Lower it down, fill it up, raise it back up to the ceiling. I can fit 2 full loads on it easily and it’s not in my way at all. There’s a wood heater in the same room so in winter with the fire going washing is dry in a couple of hours. I will miss it when I leave!
I was looking for some permaculture videos when i discovered your channel- instant like :) As others said I too love your enthusiasm and how you make gardening so effortless. I also like the way you plan your videos and not too much unnecessary talk before any action :D i have hit the subscribe button and looking forward to seeing more of your advice and smiley face! :)
You're just a wonderful teacher and inspiration. I live in Tasmania and am freaking out about starting a veggie garden from scratch. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge.
Hi Hanah - thankyou for your videos this week. Ive been inspired this weekend to get out and triple the size of my veggie garden. Since finances are tight Ive repurposed old wooden frames and lined them to ensure nothing nasty leaches into the soil. In Perth our soil is sandy and compacted so I dug it up with a mattock, ripped out the old cooch lawn and then lined the base with wet cardboard and filled with manure and veggie soil mix. The biggest challenge is no seedlings available at most stores and very limited seeds so Im growing anything I could find - even if its foods I dont usually eat. BUT the point is Im growing SOMETHING - so thankyou for inspiring me to gt off the computer and outside.
Thank you! This is excellent and timely information. It is so much easier to take in when you are looking at a real and productive garden, as opposed to a 'tarted up for TV' type garden. Cheers!
Love this . First channel actually from my area . Guess you live . Up the mountain , Ie photos . Live Eastern shore . Thinning out . You meaning , kill a green tip ?. Brilliant . Thanks
Thank you Hannah, we are excited to take this new inspiration to the ground. We follow you on Instagram and love your goats! And you're set up there, motivating us to get more food growing on our property in NZ
I thank you infinitely for your videos and what you do. I am wondering if there's any way to get involved in the form of internships etc? Lots of love keep up the good work
Hello from old beach, Thank you so much, very informative, really happy to see that plenty can still need grown in Tassie's cooler months. I'll be planting some beetroot tomorrow. 😁
Hi Hanna new subscriber to your channel from England..loving your way of sowing I must try this way ..looking forward to watching more of your videos..stay safe with this horrible corona virus ..its really scary ..
Hi Hannah. I also live in Hobart. Nice to watch your videos. You are doing a great job 👌. We also planted some beets, cauliflower, brussel sprouts seedlings. We had recently sown broad beans, okra, chilli and egg plant. We are harvesting tomatoes right now. We are waiting for potato harvest.
Ditto. Planted a lot of stuff on the list a few days ago and some miners lettuce as well. Apparently miners lettuce grows really well in TAS climate and is a great source of vit c, a and a lot of other minerals including iron. Seems like a good staple especially at the moment!
Hi! New subscriber from Adelaide. Love your video and the cardboard signs are so helpful!! I only started gardening last year so all your tips are appreciated 👍🏻😀
You are such a doll! Such useful info, thank you so much. Can you please tell us - is it only the carrots we have to use fresh seed for or all of the plants?
Ideally we never use old seeds for anything - HOWEVER, we'd never throw out seeds, so use them if you have them. We've just found that it makes a big difference with carrots.
Thank you so much for sharing Good Life Permaculture. Just wondering if I'm loosing my hearing as it's hard to hear your voice. My audio settings are in loudest .....maybe it's because I'm so far away from you guys there :-) Thank you again though...fantastic job. BTW I can hear now...it was my setting in other place in the computer - Sorry, all is good now :-)
Thank you Hannah! Can you do one about things you can grow from kitchen veggie scraps? All the garden stores here in NZ were sold out and now we're in lockdown, so we don't have any access to seeds and seedlings.
Great info and I’ll start planting in the next two days. A word of advice you need to slow down a bit not much just a bit. The interview on gardening Australia was great ,rewatch it and you’ll be on the money.
Hi there! Thanks for the video. I am searching for ways to label plants for identification and community pickers. What have you got there ? And any other ideas or ways where they don’t wash off easily and nice and visible ?
Hi Hannah, thanks for your video. Where do you source your veggie seeds here in Hobart? I've decided the seeds I buy are critical to getting a good crop.
Can we get black soldier flies in our compost? All I'm getting are fruit flies and it's really scary. There are thousands of them. Are the black soldier flies only up in Queensland? Btw, you're really beautiful. I like the happy vibe you give off 😃😃🤩🤩
Hi Hannah thanks for the youtube blitz gardening advice! this year I decided to give beetroot a go ... and everything I read says Australian soils need boron added to grow beetroot .... so I trotted off to the nursery and bought soluble boron and gently added it in the correct strength to my rows of beetroot seeds (this week) but, but, but, but .... how often should I be adding the boron solution. I can’t find an answer to that anywhere. Cheers from the slippery slopes of West Hobart. Andi

So many great tips. My last round of carrot seeds didn’t emerge. I thought it was the mulch but now perhaps the contact or water. Will try again.

You are an absolute delight Hannah. Such an informative vlog. Thank you so much. Can I ask please, what variety of carrot you're sowing? Cheers. Anita

Ha ha - I am actually going to source a microphone as well so my audio is nice and consistent. :-)
The surplus plants that you thin out can be eaten as microgreens in your next salat!
Absolutely :-) - we'll often do this as well.
Beautiful
Thank you Hannah! Can you do one about things you can grow from kitchen veggie scraps? All the garden stores here in NZ were sold out and now we're in lockdown, so we don't have any access to seeds and seedlings.
Great suggestion - will add it to the list :-)
Kings seeds are open i hear, they made them essential!

I soak my beetroot and Silverbeet seeds for a few hours before planting 😄
Brilliant! Thank you. How long do you leave the wood on the carrot seedlings?
Until they pop their heads up and are 2 -3 cms high :-). Just keep checking them until this point. Usually takes around 1 - 2 weeks
@@GoodLifePermaculture - thank you!!
I just started seeds indoors for our spring planting there's still snow on the garden I'm waiting patently lol
Hi Hannah, thanks for your video. Where do you source your veggie seeds here in Hobart? I've decided the seeds I buy are critical to getting a good crop.
Is it ok to plant them two knuckles deep if we enjoy putting our fingers in the dirt ? I might give it a try ☺️
Can we get black soldier flies in our compost? All I'm getting are fruit flies and it's really scary. There are thousands of them. Are the black soldier flies only up in Queensland?

I want to live with you and the veg ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can you grow celery in autumn/winter? I thought it was a spring planting vegetable? Thanks
Can I grow garlic in pot plants.
Sure can :-)
Where I live winter last 5 to 7 months so making any harvest fast is the keyword 🤔
