    Dude, this is gold. I had NO idea about this and I've been deep diving into input lag/pc optimization for a couple of years now... Thank you!

    Im into no-bs PC optimization for almost a decade now and just found out about this in my motherboard manual. Instantly connected my mouse and keyboard to my cpu-usbports hehe

    Thanks for shareing this video.
    I use one black port from the cpu to to connecting a mouse and use a ps/2 for keyboard.
    Just make sure not ruted anything thru the chipset and go to disable and disconect the sata devices and remove the sata controller from the device managger
    I selected this two input devices by it generating realy low jitter when turn around and can be test it with left/right arrows keys pressed and try to sweep with the mouse at same time same speed but opposite directions.
    If u have got any issue with inputs timeing it geting blured or shakey or may not geting cancel them easily.
    If u had a good jitter free setup u need to often reinsert the tinned or not gold/gold connectors to keep the contacts clean or the performance ramping down by time.

    u can connect it to the front usb port it's not even a 1 ms difference, it's the same as directly in the motherboard

      This has to be the worse video I ever watched for this shit.
      majorgeeks with usb device tree viewer application is your best friend for this. You can view it real-time as you unplug usb devices and where they're located on your motherboard, instead of using this overly complicated mess of finding it..

    Far easier to just check your motherboards manual to check which USB ports connect to the chipset and which ones connect directly to the processor. Most have either diagrams or say it directly.

    • @Xilly
      @Xilly  3 месяца назад +1

      Most motherboard manuals do not say is the issue :/, HWINFO64 shows you instantly which one it is

    For Asus ROG strix B550-F Gaming motherboards, the cpu (blue) ports come overclocked already at 1.5ms (when tested using a ps4 controller) compared to the normal 3.5ms. Is that supposed to happen?

  • @sto2779
    @sto2779 3 месяца назад

    The color of the port does matter. Blue ports have lower latency, because it is a modern USB chipset of only 30 microseconds, whereas the black ports which are USB 2.0 chipsets have more than 4 times the latency compared to the USB 3.0 of 130 microseconds.

    Yo Xilly, Question...how would a powered usb hub or docking station factor into the equation? obiously it depends on the quality of the hub, but is there anysort of criteria that would make the USB hub more preferrable than any of the motherboard ports? Might be a dumb question but since the hub can power itself separately, that's gotta factor in somewhere when it comes to speed and stuff am I right or no?

    • @Xilly
      @Xilly  7 месяцев назад +1

      no, just plug ur stuff directly, why add a weak point

    • @paladin.6895
      @paladin.6895 7 месяцев назад +2

      Powered usb hubs are completely fine, and these theory about low latency usb ports is completely fake. There is maybe a 0.001 millisecond delay, which is completely unnoticeable. Getting a powered hub is a good idea since if you have a larger hub it will need some extra power if your plugging in several power hungry things into your usb hub.
