Surprising as there are exciting new courses for 2024 eg elementary thuggery (on all sides), organised riots dressed up as peaceful protest (both sides), redecorating the university to your taste, sign writing, outdoor camping, mask wearing for beginners, how to use a microphone/megaphone, how to organize a firework display, how to prevent the general public from going about their working lives because you’re more important (obviously), calling for the defunding of police but calling them when you’ve lost control of the university etc etc.

One could almost think that the cultural revolution that took place in China during Mao Zedong's time is being repeated here.
It should also be noted that UCLA allowed for a pro-israel protest to set up just across a field where a pro-Palestinian protest was always underway. UCLA has a huge campus and would seem sensible for them to not be near each other. So not hard to see how this erupted into violence. Certainly gives the impression that they there to antagonize the pro-Palestinian protest and UCLA went along with it.
The 'mob' that attacked the pro Palestinian camp came from outside the uni, they were above college age. Had this been the other way round with pro Palestinian's attacking a pro Israel camp then the police would have acted in minutes instead of taking nearly three hours to intervene against violent 'pro Israel' counter demonstrators.
They don't wanna show that part and how pro Isreal grown ups was beating them students with boards etc. and the police let it happen.

Peaceably to assemble in a public forum is a right subject to time, place and manner restrictions.
