A lot of the cool architecture that you just saw was designed by Jože Plečnik, the most famous Slovenian architect. His works are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The Ljubljanica river is a tributary of the Sava river. Much of Ljubljana Castle (including the chapel and without the museum and lookout tower) is free to visit. Dragon bridge was one of the first reinforced concrete bridges that were built in Europe. Edit: After stealing the Golden Fleece from Colchis, Jason and the Argonauts went from Black Sea through rivers Danube, Sava and Ljubljanica. They killed a dragon that lived in the swamps where Ljubljana is situated, after that they dismantled their ship Argo and continued on foot to the Adriatic Sea through which they returned to Greece.
Thank you so much for the information! Admittedly, we did not know much about Ljubljana before visiting but we are so glad we made a stop in Slovenia. We did go into the castle passed the gate but it felt like we shouldn't go any further without paying. Glad to know we didn't break any rules 😀. Thanks for watching!
You guys have quickly become one of my favorite RUclips channels. I think I binged all of your videos in about a week and look forward to all of your new videos! Thank you for sharing and safe travels 😊
Was it hard watching that first month on the road 😅 ahaha. These comments keep us going. We are excited to share so much more as we continue to travel, learn and grow. Thank you so much for watching!
@@SOSASATSUNRISE hahaha not at all!! I think I watched your Hawaii videos atleast 5 times, I’m heading there later this year for my friends wedding and got so many great ideas. Eventually I want to travel abroad on a budget so these videos help soooooo much! Excited to continue to see your growth🎉
Just came across your channel and watched this vlog from my home town. Nice video. But I would say dragons are not a big thing in Ljubljana, just for the tourists. 😉 First time I hear "štruklji" is translated in english in dumplings. Very odd, because they arent dumplings. And that is bread crumbs with butter on top of them. Also the translation of "žganci" in spoon bread is funny. Never heard of that word in english. It is something like a (buck)wheat mush and it goes in that soup or we it alongside sousage and cabbage.
Spoon bread blew our minds. Never heard of it. Trying to search for it online was also surprisingly tough. I wouldn't call the struklji dumplings either but somehow that's what it translates to. Very memorable meal to say the least!
Hey guys! We just stumbled upon your channel. 😊 We've been posting our own videos on Ljubljana and it's so cool to see someone else explore the city. Sounds like you guys have a similar story to ours. Love the videos! 😀
Thank you! Just checked out your channel and that Typhoid story is wild! Keep traveling and making videos. We have looked into house sits as well. Hopefully we will book one in the near future. Thanks for watching!
@@SOSASATSUNRISE It was a pretty wild time in our travels. 😅 Maybe we'll do a whole video about it one day! Housesitting is one of our favorite ways to travel on a budget. Some of our best experiences have been through housesitting. We share more about it on instagram if you guys are interested. 😊 Awesome to connect with you!
Haha ya I am sure a warm drink like that in the cold could creep up on you fast. As for countries we recommend, a lot depends on the traveler and what you like. We like a balance of affordability, ease of travel and sights to see or good hiking. Our favorites have been: Turkey Portugal including the islands Montenegro Italy Road tripping the USA Our travels have mostly only been through Europe so this list will most likely change in the next few months as we make our way east!

We are so happy to be your guide to budget travel! Have fun in Hawaii and hopefully your travels abroad start sooner rather than later. 😀
@@SOSASATSUNRISE thank you !!!! 😊
I’ll be heading there later this year. Thanks so much for the tips! I just subscribed.
Thank you! Have a great time!!
Super cool video, I really enjoyed it. Cant wait to see more.
Thank you! Much more to come!
Ljubljana ♥️ Slovenia 🇸🇮
I love that you’re introducing new places to me
That's what we like to hear! Lots of new places ahead that we knew little about before visiting. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Thanks for visiting my beautiful country 💗 btw, I love that you wear Carhartt headwear!
It is a beautiful country and would love to come back some day! Ha that hat has been everywhere with us. Glad you like it. Thanks for watching!
That stuff on the top of your cheese dumplings are bread crumbling and butter. It can also be some sugar in it and some cinnamon.
Thank you for letting us know! We were completely stumped on that one. Very tasty dumplings nonetheless!
When were you two in Ljubljana!? We also were here on our trip! What a beautiful city :) One of our favourites for sure
We were there over Valentines Day. So far behind in editing but we are getting caught up now. Ljubljana surprised us for sure!

What is the name of the dumpling place?
Why y’all didn’t grab that cute little blue truck; beyond us. You two are the only ones that could totally make that work 🤙🤩
We continue to look at vehicles everywhere we go and ask each other if we could live in it. I think one day we will vanlife (tuk tuk life?) again. 😄
if you make it to the Philippines your channel will blow up.
Our current plan is to be in Asia by November! Stay tuned!
What month was this filmed?
This was filmed in February. Thanks for watching!
I accidentally got drunk on Gluwein at German festival to stay warm. Please list top 5 counties you recommend!
