- Lake Bled is hands down, the most spectacular place we've visited in Europe thus far. The mountains, lake, castle, & island offer a unique landscape that you'll find nowhere else.
Slovenia is known for beautiful mountains & lakes, with Lake Bled being at the heart of it. Lake Bled is a great day trip destination from the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. We took the bus early in the morning to Lake Bled in an effort to beat the crowds & give you first glance at Lake Bled in the morning. Come along!

We definitely aren't always super cheery😅 but Lake Bled's been on our dream list for such a long time that even at 5am we were all riled up & ready to go!🤣 It's seriously one of the most spectacular places we've been & 100% lives up to expectations. Lake Bled is spectacular! We rode a bike around the lake and then spent 2 days in Ribčev Laz which is as equally amazing and would highly recommend
Advice from a local. If you travel from Ljubljana to Bled, it is worth taking the bus, it goes to Bled every hour. The option with a train is ok, you have to take a bus from Lesce, they drive quite regularly, just DO NOT be tempted to take a taxi. It's a rip-off! If you're on the budget, Saturdays and Sundays the train is dirt cheap, it takes some €1.50 per person from Ljubljana to Lesce.
The bus was definitely a good call. We were also surprised they had trips so early in the morning. Thanks for leaving tips in the comments!
Hey! So you think it is ok to buy the bus ticket on the day? I'm going this summer and don't know if its better to buy in advance in their website or not. Do you know if it's the same price as they mentioned considering is summer season?
@@Tut226no problem buying tickets on the day. You can even biy it directly on the bus. And don't worry, there is no seasonal fluctuations of prices. There is a bus from Ljubljana to Bled every hour and the price is 6-7€, I think. I hope you enjoy!

You were not kidding, lake Bled is absolutely beautiful! This one is definitely going on my bucket list. It almost looks like somewhere in Austria (I just love mountains and lakes). Looking forward as always to your next video. This one in my opinion was one of the nicest!

This day launched Slovenia into Hannah's top 5 countries list. I'm sure there are a ton of people out there who knew Slovenia was so beautiful & to a certain extent we kinda knew that too, but we never wouldn't expected the level of beauty we experienced. It just felt like it had a bit of everything. You'll have to get down there at some point & check it out!!! It's definitely worth the trip!!!

Near the lake Bled (4km away) is also a very beautifull canyon Vintgar. You must to go there.

Ya know, I wondered the same thing about the steps but I couldn't find anything on it! Someone actually told me at the bottom that I was supposed to carry her up & I turned to him & said "I've already married her thankfully"🤣 It's truly a remarkably beautiful place though. I just managed to carry my new bride up those steps. So many people were cheering I had to just grit my teeth and keep going. Was so worth the effort, got some amazing wedding photos.
Hey guys! Love your videos! We're leaving soon for a 3 month adventure in Europe and have been debating on whether we should bring a drone or not. On your travels, have you had any issues using a drone? Do you have to get permits?
Hi Tiffany!!! Thank you so much for the kind words!! With regard to permits, it really depends on the size of the drone. If you have a larger drone (weight about 249 grams I believe) then you have to get licensed. But if you just a have something like a DJI Mini then you should be good to go! As far as regulations per country, we never really had issues except for in Spain where you cannot fly inside any of the cities. As far as this video, we flew EARLLLLY in the morning, which we’ve found is the best time avoid any type of unnecessary trouble😂 I hope this helps you a bit!! You’re going to absolutely love Europe!! Hi!! So the island may be a bit hit or miss. We flew from the lake shore line very early in the morning so we didn't have any issues, but as long as you do it before a lot of people arrive then I really doubt you'll have too much of an issue. Have a great trip to Lake Bled!! It's such a beautiful place!!!
What time does the bus from Lake Bled back to Ljubljana takes off before noon?
There are plenty of options to get back to Ljubljana throughout the day!

**anyone getting the bus, CASH ONLY, don't get caught like most people do(including me)
It's so funny you mention that, because literally arrived a minute before the bus departed (had to run to the bus station LOL) & had we not had cash on hand then we'd have been waiting another hour. Having a bit of cash everywhere in Europe is DEFINITELY the right way to go!!!
I respect your right to make the type of video you see fit. That said, I think it might be better to focus more on the lake and things to do, as opposed to the narration and music.
We appreciate the feedback!! We try & make content that is easily digestible & shows the charm of where we are without getting too boring (not saying that your recommendation is boring AT ALL btw). If there's one thing everyone can agree on, it's that Lake Bled's almost too beautiful to really capture effectively & I'll be the first to admit my cinematography skills are not nearly up to par to do it justice. In any case, we appreciate you taking the time to watch our video & hopefully there's another video out there that better meets your needs!

Do people swim in the lake?
GREAT question!! We saw some people swimming in the lake early in the morning, & people doing other various water activities during the afternoon so YES! We honestly thought they were crazy because the weather was so cold, but the water is surprisingly pretty warm. It's much warmer than you'd think, so swimming (especially during the summer months) might be really nice. I hope this helps, & thank you so much for watching our video!!😊
It's nice that you visited my country.. but I'm sorry to hear how, especially in recent times, tourists and indirectly local people are being ripped off with prices for visiting certain landmarks..
