Seems like printing standards for minifigures are just all over the place. Some minifigures in lesser popular themes would get printing on arms and legs while those in some licensed theme sets would be lucky to even get legs printing (let alone QC print issues and mind you these issues or rathe lack of care and quality are presence in high-end sets as well). Not that I don’t appreciate getting nice printing on any minifigures but there needs to be a borderline standard. Imo, licensed themes should have minimum legs printing with alternate face and/or additional hair piece for those with headgear. On top of making minifigures more accurate to licensed themes. There’s no reason for Funko and Hasbro to be able to get the details of the character accordingly and LEGO cannot…make it make sense!
Just for the pieces I got a Vidiyo set, completely blown away how many PRINTS were included in the set. Like rediculous amounts of 2x2 tiles printed with different record album cover art. Totally crazy.
Printing pieces is expensive, although with the cost of paper going through the roof at the moment I could see them transition to printing and less stickers

I used to use this excuse to justify the stickers but with prices going up, it's getting harder to understand. Like the Creator Expert/Icons vehicles used to be somewhat reasonably priced and came with stickers. Now they're a lot more expensive but they still come with stickers
They did do What If sets. The Hydra Stomper and the unreleased Iron Man Asgard set.
Great video. I really wish that LEGO would just listen to the consumers more. They could make polls and take surveys, and really learn about the problems / concerns / wants of the LEGO community.
I also wish LEGO would bring back LEGO Island.
Remember nexo knights, chima and other themes but mainly nexo knights and Chima just reboot it different story and update the old sets as [legacy sets like Ninjago]
If you look at what kind of detailed prints are on Cobi sets, you start to wonder if Lego even wants to do it right...
Cobi also uses cheaper plastic and printing don't forget
i heard cobi's printing uses large amounts of lead whichlego doesn't do. i wouldn't risk that tbh, would rahter sticker than suffer with cheap printing of *lead*
Good points. One thing that I missed, was that Lego needs to adhere to their quality standards. They say all parts produced meet extremely low tolerances, but in reality we get some extreme color variations at times, and also parts that are not perfectly symmetrical. So, depending on how a part is oriented when placed, you get a bigger or smaller gap between adjacent parts. Just stack some identical plates or bricks on each other, and you will see some are offset more to one side, some more to the other side.

100% AGREE WITH THOSE REASONS!!! I think it’s coming to the point (mainly in the marvel theme) where Lego is just making sets for money and doing only what they wanna do, they don’t care about the community or how well it will sell, what I love to see with lego is them making adult themed sets aka stranger things, friends and Seinfeld sets if they make more of those they will sell like hotcakes and I don’t think lego will ever do this but I think they should bring back the monster fighters theme, there were such great sets in that theme, it was the perfect amount of horror and family friendly. Lego really needs to step up their game for 2023
first, obviously they need money, with the cost of plastic increase that happened, and they need money to have a company. not to mention, for every $1 spent, Lego makes 37 cents. Next, if they didn't care for the community, they wouldn't have made a 501st battle pack, they wouldn't have made a ph2 cody, which before you says, "which they put in a 140$ LEGO set, even though if they had put it in the gunship it would be in a $350 set. And also, lego wouldn't make a horror movie set because most films are rated R, and I don't think the people would buy that over say something like a star wars set.

I feel that stickers are ok and are pretty fun to do except for very big ones that are hard to do
Stickers have been explained time and time again that its a storage issue. Id rather have new colours and new elements rather than a single sticker printer.

I personally think LEGO is sort of running out of unique ideas for numbered CMF series, so doubling the amount we get with a skin-tone subseries might make the problem worse, but I would _love_ to see more wacky licensed series that we'd never get sets for! Definitely a massive opportunity LEGO is missing out on.

A: Medieval peasant, has new rooster mold, a pitchfork, and return of peasant hood ( is kinda a remake of the one from mill village raid )
B: Bull knight, Updated bull shield and new helmet that resembles Sedrick the Bull, has a sword and a head that resembles Sedrick himself.
C: Street artist, Has a portrait of a past CMF figure as a reference and a easel, it has a new colour for paintbrush and a different arrangement for colour palette, also has a new hair/Baraiy mold.
D: Street performer, Has a dark orange guitar, a briefcase with coins, and has a patchy looking jacket.
E: M-Tron remake ( exactly how it sounds lmao )
F: Alien remake from **life on mars**
G: toy maker ( inspired by Jepeto from Panoche ) and has tow different toys and uses bald-cap piece.
H: is a redcoat using a new hair-hat combo similar to the series 20 pirate, Has a updated redcoat uniform and a new map print.
I: Female Magician, Has coat tails and a deck of cards, and new hair hat combo.
J: Zombie, dark Red outfit torn to shreds, includes a zombie animal of sorts and has some kind of gray hair ( gose well with monster fighters )
K: Zombie survivor, Has messy brown hair with scuff marks on the face, Baseball bat with scrap metal printing, Torn up clothes and a backpack, includes two cylinders that represent canned food.
M: ( cannot think of another figure lol )

Personally I agree with What B3 had said. Having a generic CMF with yellow and then one with normal will just be a lot of the same, but interesting to think about!
Being really apart of the doctor who fandom since we've had the new showrunner the merchandise is already getting batter than the era just gone so I've got big hopes in new lego doctor who
Dub on the LEGO Doctor Who CMF bit. Been saying the same for years. Shame we only got 2 out of the 13 Doctors that existed at the time.

Gotta agree with everything in this video. What also bugs me is how lego is focusing so much on just display models. While old lego was about using what you have to build new stuff and or play with it. Its now just Display models you build once and then collect dust. Like the 1/8 scale supercars in the Technic lineup, with no real technic features. Theyd honestly be better off made from real bricks and looking good, instead of combining bad looks with no functions.
Offbrand brick companies are way better deal, have fresh ideas and the brick quality is usually very good aswell.

I sat here and watched this video. and feels there are a few points that need mentioning from respectfully disagreeing
the display line also had a set in Jurassic world. so it isn't just marvel.
Lego minifigures in the are £3:50 not just £3.
Lego have recently stated in fan interviews that printing for placs on ucs sets will be coming soon. likely sometime in 2023. this will cover most of the sticker usual in those sets. so something they listened to the fans on
Lego minifigures have the whole budget focused on them as minifigures and only that you get. and also use up alot of the pad printing machines for those. along with them often being made for cheaper in china.
yellow minifigures have always been the focused of non ip sets. it is very unlikely to expect them to drop the iconic Lego minifigures to such a degree in 2023 of all times.
listen to the fans is downright wrong though. the printing mentioned above. along with commander Cody in the most recent star wars wave. 501st battle pack. Minecraft seeing the music disk is another good example. if the rumour list is true for marvel next year then we might be seeing some more requests there. we also know Lego are working on a dark sabre from comments in there interviews. modular buildings in other themes. this is just some examples that come to mind within the last year or so at an instant. even the display items are a request from fans. one comment that comes up a lot is why no no way home sets. well no way home is only just starting to get funko pops and the like. we know Lego works a year to 2 in advance. even going off of a year and a half time frame before they be slotting them in is summer 2023.
I also don't think many parts of the you tube community leave a good place for Lego to get constructive feedback. and stating they don't leave feedback ever is just hyperbolically that will lead to them well ignoring it. when there are so many examples of Lego listening to fan feedback. it also takes time to implement. you cant complain one day about figure legs and expect within a few months all sets that are finished design wise before you made the comment to turn it around. i think the Lego community could learn a lot from having a better feedback system instead of the dumping on Lego trend we seen in recent years. this finale bit really dragged down the video from one that could have been healthy debate to sound sadly more and more negative for less and less justified reasons.

My hot take: Irregardless of genre LEGO needs to have leg printing on all minifigures moving forward. It’s so inconsistent. $100 Star Wars set with 4 figures have get it other half don’t. Prices are raising and instead of doing something that feels on par it feels like they are taking it away. Like who in there right mind did not put leg print on tony stark in your hulk buster example! He needed side leg print, arm print, the whole 9 yards

What a way to summarize all of our grievances!!! Thank you for this!!! I do hope LEGO doesn't forget that we complain because we truly care. The fact that we officer suggestions shows that we aren't just ranting for the sake of ranting and that we want to be able to provide solutions to make a better product. LEGO can't ignore that.

Heads that have one side male one side female. This would work especially well for a lot of city figs. Doctors, police, firefighter, general employees. You choose.

One thing I would love to see from LEGO is more focus on developing original themes not based on licensed properties, they used to make so many of them in the past, it's a shame that it's not the case anymore. The licensed sets don't look as appealing to me. Also LEGO, please stop making Minecraft sets, all of them (maybe besides the original micro-scale stuff) look awful. Please.

This might be a hottake but i think theres a level thats too much for detail on lego figures. lego minifigures have a heavy level of stylization and i think it looks weird to add so much additional detail. Like sure its cool when lego minifigures have really accurate details but it often doesnt mesh well with the lego style. In sets based on movies and such its good to have detailed face and body prints for accuracy but for sets that arent i think the level of detail in figs right now is fine.

He didn’t mention the most important problem right now, Lego has absolutely forgotten about DC, like if we had some fun sets for Batman, Superman and DC in general they would make bank like they could make figures like Dr. Fate and Black Adam and then sets would start flying off the shelves. I don’t know why they aren’t making lego DC anymore, smh 🤦🏼♂️
Well for one, Universal has already taken the rights to WB from LEGO, so they’re unable to produce any LEGO DC sets without permission. Also, DC doesn’t trust LEGO anymore after the LEGO Batman movie did around 30-40 Million dollars short of the income expected upon box offices. The future of LEGO DC doesn’t look bright.

Personally I think that we need a LEGO Polar Express set for Christmas, 2023. We also need more LEGO Ideas sets based on TV Shows and movies. One example of this is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as I think that theme is perfect for a set. Pease, LEGO. Make these happen.

Something I want to se LEGO do is reviving dead licensed themes that people want.
I mean, think of things like The Simpsons, Avatar the Last Airbender, my personal favorite Ben 10, stuff like that. Figure out a way to work with those license holders and make more sets for those fans. Even if it's just one higher quality set like we've seen with stuff like The Office, that's the kind of stuff I want to see LEGO doing. Some of those older licensed themes got shafted hard, like Avatar with the horrible sets, and Ben 10 only receiving Bionicle style figures, and not even all 10 of the Aliens either. Younger me would have killed for a proper Ben 10 set, and I still hold out hope that maybe, JUST maybe, it can still happen eventually.

One of Lego Minecraft’s problems is that now there are a small amount of Lego sets that are actually something acurate in the game. We are getting houses based of of mobs now, but then we got normal houses, accurate sets, villages, even sets where you could just go crazy with the Lego Minecraft things and build just like in Minecraft. But we don’t get that now. We get Minecraft buildings that are almost impossible to build in the game, no sets where I can build with Lego the same way I do in Minecraft, and we got like 2 sets in the end dimension, why Lego??? I want more sets of the end. I want more ender dragon sets!
