I have a 06 Honda Accord and just yesterday it started blowing nothing but hot air! Living in NC having black leather seats and the car is black is torture without ac! I even have a sunroof but thank God for that! I bought my car last year and it had a brand new ac unit just installed in it. PRETTY 100% SURE that my soon to be ex tampered with it like he did my last vehicle and he’s mechanically inclined. What could one do to cause it to blow hot air? Should I follow the steps in your video or do you think it would just stop working after it was perfectly fine? Thanks so much for sharing this video!! People like you are a life saver! Oh?! Could someone cause my Freon to leak? Haven’t heard any strange noises in it either. Thanks again ❤
Hi, thank you for your comment. There are few things that could cause your ac to suddenly stop working. First thing I would check is your Freon. You can buy a can of Freon from Walmart that comes with a guage. Hook it up to your low side port and see if your Freon is empty. If it’s not empty, check your ac fuse. There’s a label on the fuse box. If the ac is still not working try swapping the relays (follow the video) if it’s still not working there are few more steps to pin point your issue.
I tried that, and also checked the compressor, its not locked up. But swapping the relay didn't work. I also tried putting power directly to the compressor clutch and it works. Also I can hear the relay click when I plug it in. It will not click if I turn off the AC, that seems to be working. I also checked the wire that plugs into the compressor and that seems fine. Also no leaks, no refrigerant loss. What else could it be?

The center fans don’t blow air at all , the driver and passengers fan does blow air , and the controls don’t work either anytime I click a different air flow it doesn’t switch and also the radio doesn’t make sound at all I turn up the the volume and nothing at all any idea what it could be ?
I tried swapping but still don’t work I turn on the ac the buttons light up but no air ac clutch is not locked up could it be the blower motor or do I need to check the Freon first ?

Yes, but this is just a quick test to see if your compressor relay is bad. The relays you’re swapping is a fan relay and the compressor relay. If it works after the swap, replace the bad one with new one.
Can a relay start to go bad but sometimes still work? My car's AC hasn't worked for a few months, but its cold out and I didn't really care. You are switching to see if the one is bad. The 3 parts (black relays) are the same exact part on my 04 Honda Accord. I just found out yesterday. You’re simply plugging in a different relay to see if the other one makes the fan work. If it does then it’s only a bad relay that you need to replace.
If clutch relay is swapped with radiator fan relay, it works. Which one is the replacement ( clutch relay or radiator fan relay)? I am having this problem now. Thanks.
Check the fuse first, if it doesn’t look blown then swap the relays. If swapping the relays fix the issue then go to the parts store and get a new one and replace the bad one. Hope that makes sense lol

@@caitlinbonhag6138 that’s right. If ac works after swapping relays then replace the bad one with a new one (which will be the first relay I removed in the video) if it still doesn’t work then there’s a few more test you need to do. Hope this helps.
What it be this problem my accord is having and how do i confirms it is? I originally thought it was a leak but apparently it can be this? or is it definitely a leak because when i put refrigerant in it, the AC works for about a day before leaking. Could it be these fuse relays? Let me know man any help appreciated
Don't confuse with the compressor pulley, which is always run. The clutch plate that sit at the end os the one that spin the compressor once engage to the pulley.
🤔 I'm confused. Did you say "swap these 2 (or 3) relays out?" You only pointed and lifted up 2 previously. And, how did you know that the lower right one was the bad one when clearly, all 3 look the same? Edit: disregard. After watching again, 🤔 I think I got it.

Brian, you're the freaking man. The relay was intermittently getting stuck so this was kind of tricky to diagnose but that turned out to be the issue.

Check if you have enough Freon in the system using a guage, also check if you’re getting power to the compressor using a test light or power probe

So if it’s locked up does that mean you have a bad compressor ?
Most of the time yes, or the clutch went bad but would recommend just replacing the compressor.

So the FAN relay that you swapped with CLUTCH relay stays there.
Get a new relay and put it on where the fan relay goes. Hope this helps.

Tried but ac clutch still not engaging
Check and see if you have any Freon in the system. It could just be low. They sell cans with gauges at any parts store.

My 05 Accord blows cold on the right n hot on the left.Can it be low on Freon?What bout the blender door?It's not making any noises?
