Where I used to teach woodwork, there was an elderly technician who was a retired bar fitter. He used to work like this all of the time and could demonstrate the most obscure Chinese joints. This video was just superb and reminded me of him... Thank you very much for such an excellent lesson.
Beautiful joint. I love the strongly contrasting woods to show the joint off better. Dang if I don't get jealous of your skill with every video, but it does inspire me to try to do better. Keep them coming, thanks.
Ah, good stuff. So many examples of fine joinery. I'm going to go through your vids to see what I can adapt to my lesser skill and use in projects. Thank you for the great work.
this connection is best for displaying the canvas, picture frame, window frame, first aid kit frame, so awesomely beautiful with that tiny molding making chisel planer
What a beautiful wooden flame! Your skill is really good. When I was young, most Korean houses had this type of window frame. However, these window frames are now hard to find except for traditional houses for tourists.
Amazing how thin those pieces were that you chiseled out with that tiny chisel. Then that bead you cut on the corners that lined up perfectly. Amazing.
I wish you were my neighbor. I would love to learn the woodworking trade. I am a pipe welder and have always loved woodworking. This is so cool. Thank you for posting this.
You have amazing hand skills.....woooow for the neatness and fitting tolerances.Very good presentation .Indeed a quality video for those who wanna learn.i see you have amazing collection of tools ,which seems handmade by you.teach us to make all those tools....:-)).as someone said here,it would have been womderful to have you in our neighbourhood.Incidently i am a woodworker living in India but i am not a Skilled Carpenter,as all work is done by machines. Seeing your hand joinery inspire me to learn all hand skills of carpentry.Thank you for sharing all your work.Stay safe, healthy and blessed....:-))
Hola Dorian, excelente tu trabajo. Felicitaciones por el canal, es al único que reviso cuando hay novedades y actualizaciones. Desearia saber que tipo de maderas utilizas.
I was about to order a good router for mortises and then I found this video, all made by hands... very impressive thanks for sharing. Now I am not sure of what to buy! Manual tools or electric tools!
I am loving your work. It's nice to have come to your channel years after you've made all these videos, so I can binge them :) What type(s) of wood are you using? It cuts very cleanly
I really like the way you edited the sound during the fast-motion parts. Hearing a million high pitched hammer blows gets a bit annoying. I love the channel, keep up your masterful work!
Really nice work. Could you give a wider aspect of the tools and the jig you used to mitre the edges. Thanks. (By the way...could you tone down the musak please and maybe have something that is not so repetitive?! Thanks).
Nice Soul-R&B addition to your normal Jazz mix . By chance are some of those chisels new ,or we haven't seen them used yet in this wonderfully informative series? Some of them seem to have a damascene or acid etched look to them I never noticed or saw before .
Ahh okay that explains why some of your cuts as of late seem to not be as "precise" as they were or have been. I somehow found it difficult that all of a sudden your abilities have dampened and lessened, now I know it has more to do with how detailed the camera is in it's focus . Which says lot's simply because the only ,"fault" or imprecision ,and that's said very very lightly is on the one side where you made it seems a tad too deep of a final chisel cut. Will say after watching your series ,and I am in no way a woodworker or know anything about joints or any sort . Thought hey ,a table with a three part mortise and tenon mixture would look aesthetically pleasing and be completely functionable ,and be able to withstand heavy forces in many different vectors . Basically a slight variation on #6 through tenon with sword tip miter and into it a vary slight variation of this exact through mortise and tenon with mitered faces into the top right angle of the horizontal . And then realized I might have caught a wood worker bug ,ha ha . Again thanks for your uploads ,they are pleasing and informative .

Does anyone else blow on the screen when watching wood working videos? Great video, awesome joint, excellent editing.
Thank you!
Excellent work!
Such minute and painstaking craftsmanship which serves its technical purpose, yet it can be rejoiced as Art
Congratulations!
Thank you!!
I enjoyed the introduction of ambient sounds of the workshop in this video, felt like they harmonize well with the usual jazz background. Relaxing.
Thanks! I‘m glad it had the desired effect!

Thanks! I was just looking for an excuse to use my moulding plane :)
what size of chisel is that skinny 1/8??
1 1/2 mm
What a beautiful wooden flame!
Your skill is really good.
When I was young, most Korean houses had this type of window frame.
However, these window frames are now hard to find except for traditional houses for tourists.
The reason why it is hard to find such a window frame anymore is that
instead of these wooden windows, the factory-produced aluminum windows are used.
Thank you!
This is genius.... what finish.. what perfection. you are really a genius.
Thank you!
Amazing how thin those pieces were that you chiseled out with that tiny chisel. Then that bead you cut on the corners that lined up perfectly. Amazing.
i have some important assignment to complete, but just sitting and watching your videos. I like wood working with hands and not machines
Thank you, I know that feeling 😂

I was thinking "there's no way he has a chisel that small", then you proved me wrong.
Hehehe, all shapes and sizes!
You make it look so easy, makes me want to try some of these more unusual joints, though maybe I should start with the basics.
I‘m glad! The basics are always a good place to start!

This kind of process‘s name is “tenon and mortise work”(榫卯). It is traditional Chinese wood processing.
