Brilliant! After I made a version of the traditional version, I tried way beyond my skill level, attempting to make two different splices, where the face shapes were different.. On one, the two shapes were a heart and a diamond, and the other had a club and a spade (from card suits). It was much messier than hoped, but it showed me that it's possible with a little bit of trickery to get things 'right'.
I am a British Carpenter / joiner and cabinet maker of over 25 years and ive never seen anything like most of these joints they are amazing but very time consuming brilliant work mate
The two-tone one was a much cleaner fit, but both sets were very impressive. Much better than I think I could dream of accommplishing. Very well done. I always look forward to seeing your next Joint Venture. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I'm pretty sure that was just an editing cut where he stained the one side. Same wood, but the dark stain contrasting the bright wood hides the shadow lines well, making it appear to be an even tighter fit
I do admire the craftsmanship but I think this is less about joinery and more about the zen aspects, like rock gardens and floral arrangements. I am a carpenter myself and, as I said, I appreciate the beauty, from an actual structural point of view, they are however unfortunate, rather impractical. But still remarkable. On a side note, is that balsa wood, or very soft pine, because I cannot imagine trying to do that with a hard wood like teak or maple, no matter how sharp the tool.
can ne1 please link me up[ to a dope set of these type of woodworking tools and scrapers for me please just looking for the information on where to find a good set to get me started!! i can see this tottally changing my life for the better if i learn to make some awesome wooden items instead of having stress related and axiety attacks which immobilize me many times... please help me locate a set i would love to get started up in this world and build up my skill level over years thanks soo much -peter piccolo
Hey man, My tip id to start off with second hand tools and restore them. It is very rewarding and you learn a lot about the tools. Plus it is meditative and you concentrate less on your anxiety.
Oh, for god's sake... I feel inept. As a joiner i make a pretty good lumberjack. Now way i can even visualise this, even having watched. Great artisan woodsmithery here...
Uber-super craftsmanship. Shame about the infantile noise with musical instruments in the background. A low key informative commentary would've been good
style over function seems to be trendy now. Looks good but that is as far as it goes. BREAK IT, test its strength compared to a less stylized join (aka functional) joint, show us that this is not just polishing a turd.
Man, those corners are sharp. Watching you chisel the corners had me on the edge of my seat. Beautiful work as always!
Yeah, I think I'd have a few band-aids on before I got finished with anything close to this.
Thanks my man! It was nervewracking trying to keep them sharp XD
Quiet please, artist at work. That was incredible. I wish I could have your skills, and patience to make wood do what you want it to do. Amazing.
It feels like it’s been so long, and I just remembered this legend
It’s only when you drop a clip do I realise how long it’s been. As always, a sublime ASMR. Thank you Dorian

At one point I was so sucked in I blew on my phone to clear a sliver off your chisel. Great stuff.
I often attempt to blow the dust/residue from the work on screen as well. Habit of being a woodworker and not just a watcher, I suppose?
This is the most amazing carpentry I have ever seen, this is both master level carpentry and a masterful work of art! Bravo, bravo!!
Outstanding my Friend. I see how you made it, but once the two halves are together, my brain can't process it.
The two-tone one was a much cleaner fit, but both sets were very impressive. Much better than I think I could dream of accommplishing. Very well done.

Glad to see you back posting.
I'm sure you've spent all the interim on this one particular joint..... ;)

glorious buddy, and I like the new intro!
Thank you! It was time to do something different.
I was wondering how long it took to make this fantatic joint. If you said 2 days it wouldn't surprise me a bit. Absolutely a great job
It would take me longer than just to lay it out. Then I would have to remember what each of the lines was for.
Fantastic and crazy work!!!!! Congratulations man, you are the best!!!
So happy to see your hands again!
This type of craft is really great for me.
Beautiful work! Where can I find that red marker used to highlight high points in the wood chiseling surface?
Been waiting for this! Thanks Dorian!
It's amazing!
Ich hätte mich schon beim Anzeichnen vertan.
Interessante Stechbeitel hast du dabei genutzt. 😁
Wünsche eine schöne Restwoche.
My only complaint is that the vid is not longer. As always, fabulous work!
That's nuts! Every time you were pushing on the chisel and it slipped I was like 😬
Love your precision even though I'll probly never match it.
Really nice Dorian!!
Ich verneige mich ehrfürchtig 🙏
Danke für das Video 🌻🌞
Curious if that's red chalk or wax or something else
👍 Danke fürs Hochladen!
👍 Thanks for uploading!
👍 Very good and beautiful, thank you!
👍 Sehr gut und schön, danke!
What type of wood do you usually use? Is it maple? Awesome work as always!
It's amazing! ♥
Thank you! Your newest joint is also very nice!

What do you use to stain the wood black? Looks like ink?
Thanks for the videos :)
I always wonder how many hours does it take to make one piece of the joint?
Something tells me that Dorian Bracht could have been a Mathematician or a Physicist.
👍
Where would a joint like this be used? Trying to imagine making this joint with traditional Japanese workholding (feet).
Restaurants, hotels and RUclips.😂
Speechless!
Que precisión. Excelente trabajo compañero. Te felicito.
Hello Dorian 🙂
It's amazing 😍
How many time to complete this?
Magnificent!
Ich hätte mich schon beim anreissen 3 mal versägt... Topp!
That's really beautiful! What's the name of that pigmented stick you are using in this video? Thanks!
Check the description
@@1nkw3ll Thanks, I did check but couldn't find the pigmented marking tool.
To me it looked like a piece of wood with one side colored with a china marker.
@@calvinbass1839 good shout, I should give it a try myself!
Its beautiful amazing awesome and extraordinary 👏👌👍❤😀😀😀😀😀

Do you make furniture?
Sehr cool!
…time for another (wood) joint!
Que hermoso trabajo. 🌳🌲✨🌳
