Hi Bill, So I don't ride my last bike $1,000 and it's like new. I am getting my new bike next week Ebike... I am planning next year driving from Granite Fall to Darrington from Loop Road and back to Granite Falls from Arlington. I had a stroke and so I am not sure how many batteries I might need to use 108 miles. Thanks!
After a few rides you’re gonna get very confident on your bike, your battery length, and your riding style. Don’t be afraid to work on your bike, I have a friend who if he’s 20 miles out on a trail and he has a flat or anything else he has no clue what to do. Build your confidence, know your bike. Congratulations you’re gonna have a blast.
Hello again Bill. I had a stroke and it’s taken me 4 years to go back to riding and RC playing too much. My ebike now has serious blinkers right / left in front and rear. I installed three extra ebikes batteries mounted on the rear, sure not cheap. Your front light is the same as mine, plus more. My new rear light has a motorcycle brake light, it’s awesome. I have made 78 wires to solder plugs and more. I am using separate LiPo batteries in front for everything. I have a rear video to watch from behind. I so far been able to keep LiPo power going on ebike for over 16 hours. I can install one more LiPo batteries. I use LiPo 11.1v 8,000 Ah; I run three batteries for now. I had your mirror the same, but it sucked for me not to see, so that’s why I put a video on instead. I am not finished yet, too much for me to do, lol. I will next year buy possible new ebike, highest battery ability. I have enjoyed back to riding since my best bike is just sitting, ebikes are cool. I live in Bothell, WA, bad weather again tonight, more power off, but not for me. My home has power during lost PUD for home. Anyhow enough of me! Take good care! Fred
I little warning about Green Slime. I recently put some in my tires and when checking the tire pressure a few days later a little slime leaked out of the valve stem. No Big Deal. BUT when it did that it lodged a little fibre under the valve stem gasket. VERY slow leak happened and the rear tire was down to 20 pounds when I got back from a 10 mile ride. The front tire was flat the next day. The same thing happened to it with a little fibre stuck in the valve stem gasket. I'm not putting down the Slime, I think its a good thing. I now have metal valve stem caps that have gaskets in them instead of the plastic ones that obviously don't seal 50 psi of pressure.
James Bond thank you. I think I watched most of your vids before I purchased. The bike just seemed to fit my needs as long as it felt right. Which it did! Cheers 👍

It's cool that you shared how you accessorized the bike, but I feel like I missed anything that could be considered a "review". You said you really liked the bike. What, specifically, did you like? Were there any aspects of it you didn't like?
So many good reviews and video reports for the Rad Rover. I'm a bit puzzled as to why/how the higher end ebikes like Norco, Trek & Electra are able to sell theirs for more than double and triple the cost of a Rad... There's the obvious weight difference but aside from that... what is it? There's always the old "...you only get what you pay for" adage. I had one retailer refer to Rad as a "disposable" e-bike in terms of long term ownership. Just curious... would like to hear ppl's thoughts.
drums911 Excellent Question. As I said I have two. I have been extremely happy and I am hard on it. As I said I jump lots of curbs and in addition to that rented several ebikes in my travels. I love it and if I get a chance to take 3 months or more in Europe I am going to fly into Amsterdam and buy another. I’m just that happy. Just had to buy a small crescent wrench and a wood working clamp to tune the spokes but no worries here. It did die 1 mile from the store in Seattle , but left it there for them to look at. They really didn’t know what the problem was. Probably just a loose connection but that was it, under warranty. I have spent a lot more in other hobbies. Camera, scuba, etc.
I own one of the more expensive ebikes, a compact cargo/utility that I use for comuting/grocery etc . It has 2.6 inch tires, not really meant for offroad riding. Bosch motor and everything. I've owned it for exactly one year and have put 1000 miles on it so far. I'm very happy with it but I'm waiting till I reach at least a couple thousand miles to judge on reliability and durability. I've been riding for years and owned both cheap and not so cheap leg only powered bikes. Almost in all cases the cheap bikes have eventually let me down, so when shopping for my first e ride I stayed away from rad bikes and other companies that ship the bike directly. I also feel there's a need for video reviews of both cheap and expensive ebikes after some serious usage. There's too many videos of rad power bikes by owners that have only ridden it a few hundred miles.

Hi Bill, FYI - at 1:36 you mention buffalo but have a picture of a bull elk. Also, it is a bison, not buffalo. That said, great review and I wish you well!!
I have a 2018 Rad Rover, all around great bike for the money. My only complaint is the Juggernaut tires are very thin therefore I've had three flats so far. Standard riding on concrete and dirt trails the same as other bikers. I'm afraid to put another $25 tube in the tire even though only once did I find a tiny stick in my tire that clearly gave me my first flat. @@BillCullins I asked and they politely said no. It's not the first time they've been unaccommodating. I wish I knew where I could get it on Alibaba or something like that.

I'm a truck driver and every now and then I get a route passing through my home town and have enough time to make a pit stop and catch up with my ole lady but have to park a good 30 min walk away from where I live in a large parking lot that allows me to park without fear of being towed. So one of these would be perfect to keep on the truck and make the small trip to and from my truck alot quicker and less exhausting. Plus it be nice to take out and get around on when I'm getting a reset in, in other states
willywonkalucretia Great Question. No they are about $600 with tax. At that time it was $1500 less 2 bike discount, business deductible, and battery cost. So I just bought two. He was really grateful and as we parted he said...now I see you next week right? Excellent or work.

Ray Velez Great Question 👍 Yesterday me and a buddy was doing our Sunday ride around Seattle. We focus on flat bike lanes but we had to do a steep one block hill. I made it peddling hard on high power and low gear. Without Out it I would have to walk it. Not good for loose gravel up hill, too slippery and you can easily fall down. Great Question!
Great video! I have ordered a second battery for my 2018 Radrover, however, Rad Power Bikes will not sell me the bracket to mount my extra battery. Where did you buy yours? I want to mount my extra battery on the rear rack like you did. Thanks
Jason Richison I bought it from Rad. An alternative is to cut one from hefty aluminum. But I would ask again. Heck you just spent $600 with taxes for a battery. 👍
Hey buddy! Looks like you got the e bug! Same here. Demographics show us 'mature' gentleman the largest buyer of ebike. With that in mind I'd like to start an ebike gang of old guys! I'm thinking either calling us the O.G.s or my fav... the eTards! Wanna join!?
Definitely, the mature and ‘fuller’ gentleman in my case. Love that idea of fitting a 2nd battery and mounting rack, very sensible!! Enjoy the riding dude, and greetings from England.
You don’t have the option of buying just a battery instead of the whole bike again? Some companies offer additional batteries for a couple hundred bucks
Nice video Bill. I've been looking for the right ebike to buy. The Rad bikes are high on the list. Can you tell me how tall you are? I'm 6'3" and would like to find one that fits properly. Thanks, Tom
evolutionaryTom Great Question Tom. My buddy just bought a large Juiced Rip. He’s a lot bigger than me. It’s a helftyer frame. We just went out for the first ride Sunday. It’s a great bike and the higher cost balances out with the bigger battery and fenders. I think he is undecided not from the quality, just because of his own insecurities. All the components are the same, except it’s for a bigger person and bigger battery. Ride it if you can! Hope that is helpful. 👍👍👍
Hey buddy! I'm a pretty big guy my self and like you considered a Rad. I'm not into long texts but suffice to say I went with a company called Surface604...I got a Shred. Similar power advertised but I saw a video about Rad using substandard motors ...though my bike and the Rad have the same power rating my motor is noticeably larger! I weigh 290 and can easily hit 40mph on my Shred. Check them out.
Hey, that was a great idea for carrying a spare battery...so...when I can afford a second battery I'll remember that. Also, where did you get the rearview mirror...I haven't seen it in any Bond vids?
Can’t say, last 7 months or so. Sorry can’t help you out. I focus on making money and not too much about saving. This was well within budget. Very happy. Best wishes 👍
The slime will ruin your tires don't ever leave the bike in direct sunlight,I did once while at work,it was cloudy initially but then the sun heated my 29"er tires and they both exploded ,ruptured through the wall of the tire and warped the back rim,the bike was only a month old so I bought the exact bike and returned the damaged one for a refund hehe..but then it got stolen..like my other bikes ..
Thanks Bill! Great video. I'm heading out to Hawaii and I have 2 RadRovers. I'm curious... How did it work out with shipping batteries? Were you able to get the RadRover under 50 lb for Airline check in? Any issues with legality of electric bikes in Hawaii? It's great to see another person enjoying life with an electric bike. Cheers!
Thanks Bill for the great review. Ive been kicking around getting one but now you’ve convinced me. Good honest review. Can you post a link for the headlight please?

I let my buddy try it and he got a Rip, he’s a lot bigger guy and it was a great choice and twice the battery Time. 40 miles to my 2 battery’s. About the same price when it’s all said and done. RIDE FREE 👍
I leave it unplugged until I need it mark. It seems to drain the batteries. Plug in on demand. It’s not perfect but good brightness when you need it. I am a low demand on night riding
Great Question. I was planning to purchase new tires even before I owned it based upon my riding habits. But I chose to keep the tires for two weeks and decide after that. After two weeks my ride habit changed and the choice of tires by Rad was a good one. Aloha! In the islands
Makes sense. Here in the islands there are many thrones to puncture your tires. Especially the Kiave trees which are 1-1/4 inches long. Which makes off road very high chances for puncture. Talking to local yesterday he said it goes in waves. Over 20 flats, he doesn’t like green slime.
There are now available upgrade 35a controller and LCD for the Rad Rover bike. You instantly get more power, acceleration and torque for steeper hill climbing. It's all plug and play to your bike! Check it out at electrobikeworld.com/t/upgrades. Make sure to look for the specific title (Rad) on the 35a controller and LCD
Buy a bigger, battery from Luna Cycles. There a a couple of videos on youtube showing how to do this but that hardest thing is cutting soldering two wires and have a more powerful and longer lasting bike!
“I think I’m one of the better salesman for it now?” Lol. How long you been practicing? Sorry, I just like good shit that is pretty damn concise man. I’ve never modified my bike other than placing some fenders on them and I get this! I look up maintenance and find unsure shit! Sorry, have a good day.
Some people like friends and spare parts if needed. Boosted Boards are now Bankrupt. I hope that helps. I just happened to be listening to my books on tape and got your message.

@@BillCullins I asked and they politely said no. It's not the first time they've been unaccommodating. I wish I knew where I could get it on Alibaba or something like that.
Please where did you get that extra battery mount, radrover in Seattle refuses to sell me one at any cost,I really dont want to fabricate one!
wayne miller just saw your post. I got it from rad in Seattle. I was in process of going to fabricate one myself.
Please put links to the accessories in the future so we can find the products that you like and use...
Hey bill with 2 batteries are you using a extra set of keys?
Yes!
Can you link the bag and battery mount? Great video!
Thanks for the tips, I'm also trying to add extra battery on my rear rack and I was trying to find the mounting plate you got it for 12$. Can you please share where you got them from?
Agent K. See other comments , They are not available from Rad.Make a jig out of cardboard have one cut to spec out of aluminum or stainless steel, that’s my only suggestion. Ride Free!
How much does the battery cost?
$625 with tax
@@BillCullins damn, I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but would def be nice to have an spare backup battery
Nice vid. Can you tell us where you got the plate to lock the extra battery as well as the name of the mirror? Thanks
Battery Attachment $30 now, I could have been wrong I was buying so much extra stuff at the time. But I love it.
You purchased straight from RAD or somewhere else? They’re not willing to sell me one. Not sure if there’s another option 🤔Thanks for the video!
So you are unable to buy the battery only? You must purchase a second bike?
willywonkalucretia Great Question. No they are about $600 with tax. At that time it was $1500 less 2 bike discount, business deductible, and battery cost. So I just bought two.
Literally I just saw a customer and let him try mine and we plan to do a ride together. Excellent conversation starter.
He was really grateful and as we parted he said...now I see you next week right?
Excellent or work.
@@BillCullins WOW that's really an UPCHARGE! anyways I rented a Rad Rover and was very impressed. So I may pull the trigger and buy one. Thanks for the reply and post.
willywonkalucretia Good for you. Give it a few weeks of riding, and I think you will be very happy. 👍
Hey could you please post a link where i can get the mount for the back up battery
Im unable to find it
Grown by Freeze I just emailed customer service.
Someone commented they no longer sell it. I really don’t know.
Bill Cullins okay bro thanks
Good Review Bill, how is she climbing steep hills? Tks
Ray Velez Great Question 👍
Yesterday me and a buddy was doing our Sunday ride around Seattle.
Thank you, Bill. I think I will check back with RAD, and perhaps try speaking to another person there. Thanks for the advice!
Hey buddy! Looks like you got the e bug! Same here. Demographics show us 'mature' gentleman the largest buyer of ebike. With that in mind I'd like to start an ebike gang of old guys! I'm thinking either calling us the O.G.s or my fav... the eTards! Wanna join!?
I am in too.
Definitely, the mature and ‘fuller’ gentleman in my case.
Love that idea of fitting a 2nd battery and mounting rack, very sensible!!
Enjoy the riding dude, and greetings from England.
Hahaha haha. Rad Dads!
@@FunnyNESS I like! A definite entry! If this grows we're gonna have to have our own Sturgis/Burning Man!!
sweet. still thinking about one.
If you are over 200lbs consider Juiced Rip Current ruclips.net/video/Q7qrADXH9SM/видео.html
One battery 40 miles, and stronger frame
Hi Bill
Great vid. Can you yell is how you got the extra battery mount? Where exactly?
From Rad. But won’t sell them anymore. Have to make One ☝️
Nice bike, I’m looking at the rad mini
You don’t have the option of buying just a battery instead of the whole bike again? Some companies offer additional batteries for a couple hundred bucks
You do, they are about $600 with tax. I will hit 2000 miles this week end. So happy 😀
I think RAD should owe you some money for this video.
I love my RadRover Bill. Thanks for the video!

Oh on my buddies Rip the throttle is on left. As a ex dirt bike rider I didn’t care for that. Best Wishes
Can you send me the mirror link? I like it, thank you

Hey, that was a great idea for carrying a spare battery...so...when I can afford a second battery I'll remember that. Also, where did you get the rearview mirror...I haven't seen it in any Bond vids?
great video but can u provide links to get the stuff we need brother
I love my RAD ROVER!
Where did you get the bracket to mount your extra battery for $12.??..Rad is going to charge me $30 + shipping...Post link please
Lowcuetus I thought that was what they charged me. The price may have gone up.
I was quoted this about 2 weeks ago...You could not have had your rad for more than a few moths...WHen did you buy it?
Buy the battery mount....Not the bike
Can’t say, last 7 months or so. Sorry can’t help you out. I focus on making money and not too much about saving. This was well within budget. Very happy. Best wishes 👍
The slime will ruin your tires don't ever leave the bike in direct sunlight,I did once while at work,it was cloudy initially but then the sun heated my 29"er tires and they both exploded ,ruptured through the wall of the tire and warped the back rim,the bike was only a month old so I bought the exact bike and returned the damaged one for a refund hehe..but then it got stolen..like my other bikes ..
Lmao, I purchased my mirror and The Cramp buster because James Bond!
Here you go Mark,
It takes almost a month out of China last year but solid.
I do not tighten it too tightly so I can swivel it down as I load it into my trailer.

PS We have been having so much fun. I let my buddy try it and he got a Rip, he’s a lot bigger guy and it was a great choice and twice the battery Time. 40 miles to my 2 battery’s. About the same price when it’s all said and done.
RIDE FREE 👍
Sorry Headlight Options 5000 lumins

I leave it unplugged until I need it mark. It seems to drain the batteries. Plug in on demand.
It’s not perfect but good brightness when you need it. I am a low demand on night riding
Why did you keep the original tires? You can do better than those
Great Question. I was planning to purchase new tires even before I owned it based upon my riding habits. But I chose to keep the tires for two weeks and decide after that.
After two weeks my ride habit changed and the choice of tires by Rad was a good one. Aloha! In the islands
Bill Cullins aloha my sister lives in Hawaii too. I’m gonna get the origin 8 supercell for my summer tire 50 bucks
Bill Cullins too many gaps in those nobbie tires that comes with the bike for my taste
Good luck trying to buy a battery
Great idea man 👍
Hay Alaska had a7.2 earthquake an hour ago
I hope you don't have home damage
Hey! I heard that in Alaska there's a whole lot a shaking going on!
David Klein you back home you have much damage
Sorry I'm thinking of bill Kline

There are now available upgrade 35a controller and LCD for the Rad Rover bike. You instantly get more power, acceleration and torque for steeper hill climbing. It's all plug and play to your bike! Check it out at electrobikeworld.com/t/upgrades. Make sure to look for the specific title (Rad) on the 35a controller and LCD
Thank you soo much. 👍
Great video review 👍
Can you message me the address of the manufacturer so I can by that battery mount? Thanks!
Daniel Lopes Sorry I bought it from Rad Power Bike’s. I guess they don’t want to sell it anymore.? 😫
Contact boltonebikes.com
He might know!
Buy a bigger, battery from Luna Cycles. There a a couple of videos on youtube showing how to do this but that hardest thing is cutting soldering two wires and have a more powerful and longer lasting bike!
Thanks for the great video on your favorite toy :-)
He said his fuckin’ headlight turned on from time to time. He bought it twice for 25? Or did I mistake myself?
“I think I’m one of the better salesman for it now?” Lol. How long you been practicing? Sorry, I just like good shit that is pretty damn concise man. I’ve never modified my bike other than placing some fenders on them and I get this! I look up maintenance and find unsure shit! Sorry, have a good day.
Great video sir
I don’t understand … why not just buy a second battery why buy another bike just for the battery???
Some people like friends and spare parts if needed. Boosted Boards are now Bankrupt. I hope that helps.
I just happened to be listening to my books on tape and got your message.
@@BillCullins I guess that makes sense. Didn’t really clarify that so some of us were confused.
You bought another bike to get another battery ?.... What...wait....is it not possible to just buy another battery.....or is that what you mean ?????
Nice but no way in hell that light emits 5k lumen..it's not a big deal though, the ride is still nice
Option for rear rack mount. See Scott Guyton discussion. 👍 Rad will not sell additional battery mount. Very firm on this.
Rad needs to improve their battery , battery , battery , battery
Luna cycles, luna cycles, luna cycles!
Mine was delivered today and this bike is incredible. I am so happy I went with a Radpower ebike ... Stay Powered by Rad
I am sooo excited for you. You will have a blast getting stuff to make it YOUR BIKE!
Ride Free......😎
does it come fully assembled? Or do you have some assembly required?
My buddy bought a juiced rip current. Twice 38-40 miles on one battery, stronger frame he is a bigger guy 220lbs. He loves it. Same price when all is said and done ✅. Fenders a little flimsy but great choice.

Do a review of you riding the bike so we can see that, please.

OMG Enough with the close up selfie! turn the camera around to the bike for christ sake. Youtalk about the bike and bags but all we see is your face!!!!!!
Uncle Fjester Sorry Uncle Fjester, how rude of me. I would definitely demand a full refund and post a real video so all of us can see how it’s done right! Ha ha ha, no worries you are not the only one to mention it.
I will take it into consideration when I do my 1000 mile plus review.
Thanks 🙏 for the feedback.
Gosh I love my toy!
