The fabled golden tone of Gilels, unique.
What a wonderful discovery I made when I clicked on this video. Thank you for uploading it.
MAGNIFICOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!
I wish, he was still here!
There are so many wonderful interpretations of Schumann and he had the most unique 2nd mov I've ever heard. Unique, wonderful and brilliant. What a joy to listen.
great, great artistry... such touch and passion.
Brilliant rendition of one of my very favorite piano works. Thank you
One of the best ever.
This is fantastic....thank you !!
A very good tempo for the first movement.
Sin palabras......sublime !!!!
The best version so far!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😍
Check out Pletnev's

Bravo bravo bravo genial grandiose fantastic pianist
What a majestic sound and rendition
Beautiful Arabesque !
Superbe, insurmontable!!!! toujours Gilels!!!!
Listening to this performance of the concerto, I kept thinking "this is REALLY slow". This led me to compare the timing of the 1st movement with other recordings I have of the work. Indeed, of the 27 recordings below, nobody takes it as slowly as Gilels (17:08), even surpassing his own Salzburg Festival recording. Bolet 15:50
Hess 14:54
Rubinstein (1947 14:51 (1957) 15:21 (1956) 16:26
Moravec 15:25

A slower tempo always allows the listener more time to hear and experience all the harmonies, counterpoint and other intricacies of any piece. Although I must confess I wouldn't take it any slower!
You’re missing the forest for the trees.
His Op 18 Arabeske was just magnificent
!
Nice
1.25x for first movement
Yes!
I thought only Katia Buniatihvili had anything really Schumanesque to say in this music . I waswrong . YOu'd think that this music belongs to Argerich as often as she has played it but I don't remember her in this so special. Maybe I'm deaf .Leonskaya?Alicia? Arrau. Hess,Bolet.I need to relisten to all of them !
