Einfach grossartig!!! EMIL GILELS! :-)
Immenso pianista e soprattutto ARTISTA
It is a absolute disgrace and disgusting that there are 15 who give thumbs to this remarkable recital! Gilels is one of the greatest pianists who had such control, talent and poise when he sat to play. What a gift he was to the glory of Classical Music!
Do you mean "thumbs down"? I don´t see any, whereas "Thumb up" is a positive sign.
@@metteholm4833 I did not mean 'thumbs down '. I had addressed it to those 15 who had put 'thumbs down '. This is just to clarify as I am a great admirer of Giles!
Oh , Gilels , belongs to the fantastic Russia pianist , the best in the world , Chinese garbage , disaster go home and disappear !!
I was in Leningrad in 1983, and saw this recital on Soviet television. It was broadcast in the spring, and was my consolation for never getting to hear Gilels live. He went on tour in the West not long after this recital, if I remember correctly, so I had no hope of hearing him in Russia. The Schumann made a deep impression on me then.
Thanks for posting!
😅❤
Gilels was incredible, also check out Morton Estrin and Vladimir Sofronitsky them playing Symphonic Etudes. Stunning interpretations. Obviously, Gilels is right up there. Also Cortot.
The most magnificent concert! Thank you, Vladivostok 1969! Must be preserved!
Grande Gilels: splendida performance.
El más grande. Tempi siempre perfectos. Insuperable.
A magical hour of music. Unique. Incomparable.

Excelente! Bravo!

The bro' could play.
Amazing. Thank you!
What a PROGRAM of a concert! The time of giant's, .....in USSR !
Russia still has Trifonov, Lugansky, Volodos, Kissen, and Sokolov...all amazingly talented and with colossal technical skills.
@@sappallow all of those, except Sokolov and Kissin have a lot of growing up to do to catch up! Sokolov, btw became ‘
Gilels’ favorite young pianist, after he won at the 3rd Tchaikovsky competition. He was also Grigory’s mentor.
@@stonefireice6058 I admit Gilels is still my favorite. When I hear his playing, I feel I'm in the presence of nobility.

@@stonefireice6058 Sokolov just about gets to lace Gilels' boots, and then kiss them, the rest, not even remotely. However, Sokolov's playing is way too intricate and "clever" in my very humble opinion. I heard him once and it was, as usual, a short programme topped off with about 7 encores, whether they were warranted or not, which demeans the recital and plays to the crowd. I was underwhelmed.
Unsurpassed
anyone else spot the note he missed as mentionned by TwoViolins?
Really? When is that? Which video?
He misses a spot note at 2:35. Then again at 2:57. Dunno if that's what the two musiclowns were talking about. I rarely watch their videos - life's too short.
Great performance, apart from a shower of wrong notes at the start.
He was a student of Heinrich Neuhaus, who was not at all "neurotic" about a wrong note here and there. Healthy attitude.
Didn't know Trump played the piano. The man can do anything.
😂
The 13 dislikes was Biden forgetting he already pressed the button before 12 other times...

Which pianist do you think has more humour? In my opinion, Richter is a bit more serious, but he has more overview of the whole compositions. We are talking about the highest level of pianists of all time. It was the best generation or the peak of the interpretation of the piano. 1920-1970. The development is more and more towards colder technique and perfectionism. Today they are also able to play all these difficulties, but not as deeply and with warm soul.
