I think the fact that when they include 2 kits in the pack it makes it much better value. I know that last year was the Meteor which was a brand new tooling (and probably a bit more expensive) but they year before featured 2 hawks. This time, granted they are older toolings from the Airfix/Hornby era, but still pretty nice models nonetheless
This year it's a good deal for me. I have fancied the Spitfire and the Typhoon. For convenience I like to order on line for my paints etc so the 10% brings ths prices in line with some of the other outlets. I can never get enough keyrings so if I take off the 20+ quid I would have spent out on the two kits plus the fact they will have a different markings it's only really cost me a few quid more. A catalogue or paint chart would be a nice touch
Good marketing idea, but not available in states, might be worth a bit of a premium if it was. I've built a lot of Airfix 1/72 kits, they are nicely detailed and would never get tired of receiving a membership box - I could build Spitfires forever. Maybe international builders could just purchase a discount card and receive annual calendar. I'm getting excellent customer service and shipping cost from Japan and European countries - Tamiya, Eduard, ICM, VMS custom supplies.
Yeah I think the kits are getting better and are usually nice to build. I built so many Spitfires as a kid I just avoid them now. I suspect that will change at some point though.
I've just joined again (3rd year) and it's purely for the 10% discount. Airfix need to really up their game in terms of marketing and loyalty branding. So much more they could do. And really not sure why they think going to on line only for the magazine is a positive step, some of us dinosaurs like a magazine! Rant over 😅
I’m sure they’re still doing the magazine in print in the uk? I might have to check that though. But yes, they need to rethink the remove before tag and badge.
@@hardysscalemodels its not just that...only the uk gets the club magazine and if the kits were available oberseas they would cost more due to conversion between sterling and in my case Euro, then thete is postage costs and then a customs charge due to btexit
@hardysscalemodels now if it was maybe just one 1/35 kit and a keyring or maybe a in store discount then I would probably buy it then. But hey each to their to their own eh.

Oh I agree mate, 2 kits is great.
I have an urge to display the Typhoon next to my 1/24 scale version!
I think they should through in the aifix catalogue for the year
That’s not a bad idea.

Yeah they should think about updating the key rings though.

Only worth it if you live in the u.k.
Yeah I’m not sure you get the kit overseas? I should have mentioned that 🤦🏻♂️

@@jaws848 ah ok. Really not ideal for overseas then.
@@hardysscalemodels yep...technically we do get the magazine but as a downloadabe pdf file rather than a actual magazine
@@jaws848 ah I see. Yeah I’m old school, I like the physical magazine, not a digital copy.
All that for a couple stickers, badge, keyring and 2 1/72 kits. Na I think not, that's not worth it.
It’s all about the discount for me.

One minute and ten seconds in... I already know the answer. Who buys this rubbish? Airfix are having a laugh!
Like I say in the video, it depends what you’re looking to get from it. For me, it’s not about key rings and badges, it’s the discount.
Nope not worth it.
It really depends on what you’re wanting to get from the membership I think.
Don’t recognise the accent mate 😂
Telephone voice! 😂
