- Some of you requested a video about Vocaloid concerts so here's one about a slightly obscure but curious project called Vocamerica.
I have to say that this was a very interesting video to research, that's for sure!

Update on Vocamerica that Aki put out recently:
She did a live stream on her twitch on New Years Eve 2020 with all the performers known from this video and Oliver whose model was finished around September 2020. She also explained that due to issues of getting concerts recently from both the pandemic and her performance fees, it has been a struggle for her to get everything done as she is paying everything out of pocket. On Jan 2 and Jan 4, she has said that she has commission new modelers for prima and sonika which both have new designs to make it special for Vocamerica. Right now, Aki predicts there are no concerts so is planning only one concert around the Fall of 2021 to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the project. That’s all I know since I am only a Kickstarter backer.
I did most of the special FX and rendering for VOCAMERICA and I can confirm we used Sad Machine for select concerts. Different songs were chosen for different concerts so it’s kinda hard to find a specific song sometimes haha

I was able to go to a vocamerica concert a few years ago. being a long time vocaloid fan, I was so happy to go a concert! I’m so grateful to empath-p for this project to bring vocaloid concerts to America. The concert wasn’t as big and flashy as the Japanese ones, but those are put on by big companies, so it was amazing what aki was able to do with her team. We all had a blast at the concert! You could tell everyone was happy to be there, the audience sang along to the songs and cheered when each vocaloid appeared on stage. It’s a great memory and I look back on it fondly :D
I would honestly love to hear a Ghost song in a vocamerica. I would got crazy if that happened

Though I can't say AkiGlancy and Ghost get along or are friends, from what I can tell anyway.

I saw Vocamerica at Anime Midwest 2019. They were my first vocaloid concert. My only experience of vocaloids was playing a Hatsune Miku game a few time at my local Round One. So take my experience with a grain of salt.
They had preformed on a small stage. The music was very loud. Half way through the third song half of the speakers blew out. I could not tell what singing was English or Japanese. Finally there were issues with clipping especially with the Maika vocaloid. Her arms kept phasing through her twin tails and it became very uncanny valley for me.
All that being my first experience was not the best. However I will give them another chance if they come back to a convention in the Midwest!

I've already got a Perfect in "39 Music","Roki", "Dreaming Chu Chu", "Catch the Wave" and "Teo" on Hard - I'm so proud of it ^-^

Literally no one is talking about chinese and korean vocaloids.
Chinese vocaloids are popular you can't just feel them in the western fandom. Also idl about spanish voaloid and that new male korean Voicebank

Chinese vocaloid are pretty popular if you're not on the western side of the fandom. I don't know about Korean vocaloid that much tho.
Many Koreans like SeeU and Uni, so I guess that's there

Concerts I remember when was Smash Mouth concert in Coachella and the whole infamous thing or someone throws bread at the band I just feel uncomfortable to be there but it was my dad's birthday he wanted to see Smash Mouth

@@turtlie7309 Cause a lot of stans are really toxic. I know there are some regular fans that will call themselves stans, but actual stans are fuckin crazy. Hence the name literally meaning "stalker fan".
i went to a vocamerica concert just the day before yesterday (saturday) at tigercon. i agree with the sound quality was shit, they didnt turn up the sound enough when it came to some songs, the models were pretty nice but weren't properly centered, ect.
they had a "vip" line, aka guaranteed entry, and then a line full of ppl who were not guaranteed entry. they didnt set up enough chairs and had a really weird seating.
in the front there were rows and rows of chairs and behind them were no chairs and a sort of dance floor, where there were no chairs but chairs lining the walls. the ppl who were sitting and got front row seats looked misrable
i enjoyed it, but it couldve been better

Wayback machine isn't really great at Twitter pages, it's incredibly laggy and a lot of pages just get an error lol
I just hope Vocamarica will be coming soon. It can be a lot of stress on Aki to organize the place. I just hope she is well with her friends and loved ones even with the state of the world these days.
Who knows, maybe then the English Vocaloids are set ready, maybe new English Vocaloid 5 characters will join in the future.
I actually been to a vocamerica concert back in 2017-2018 at this tiny tiny con that is kigacon. I never heard of vocamerica until I went to thier concert being a big vocaloid fan. I do have some footage of it. It's mostly dex tho. I enjoyed their concert and I do hope vocamerica isn't over yet.

so actually i talked to aki after the concert 2019 at animiniapolis about sad machine. i was told that the reason it wasn't in their line up was that the mmd by big yellow alien didn't have the (anti?) clipping software. so they didn't use the cape in the mmd model so that needed to be worked on. avanna did sing silence at that con.
Oh that's weird! I had seen the video for the motion here on RUclips and the creator said that it was a commission for Vocamerica. That's just a smidge unprofessional to commission a motion and not check through the motion maker / program to make sure it'll work during a concert. Thank you SO much for the comment! @@WeebaLu i'm glad it helps and facebook post on the official site says avanna's model and the first song she preformed was "silence" october 2017. i have a phone video of it and Yohioloid's first performance "breathe again" i also own the 2017 tora-con dvd they sold.
I remember a few years ago I went to a convention where Vocamerica was going to preform and it ended up being cancelled (and delayed until the next day of the convention, which was the day I couldn’t go to the con) due to technical issues. I can’t blame them since stuff happens, but it definitely didn’t look good for them to have this many technical issues each time they went to preform.
And when it came to the stretch goals I found it really weird that they skipped Oliver, who was the third stretch goal, to go with Yohioloid first despite the fact he was the fourth stretch goal. I’d assume those would’ve been added in order idk
Also unrelated to Vocamerica, but when it comes to the Taiwanese designs for certain Engloids, that’s because E-Capsule had the distribution rights for them in Taiwan, and I think those alternate designs were made to appeal more to the market over there

I saw Vocamerica multiple times (I’ve posted videos on my channel) and I absolutely loved it!! I always wondered what happened to them. :-( honestly I don’t think they’ll do anymore.
AkiGlancy made an announcement that Vocamerica is officially cancelled due to low attendance and COVID being the final straw :/
I remember when they announced it and was all being planned, I wanted to go soooo bad. I was keeping up with it everyday, such a huge step for the english vocaloid community. ☺️
This was really informative. I'd heard a few vague things about Vocamerica, but it's nice to hear in greater detail. You did a great job staying neutral as well.

Y'know this reminds me..wasn't there a podcast Aki had done saying she had gotten into a lot of debt for this project? I was lucky enough to talk a little with her in person last year at AWA and she reiterated that it put a hold on some things. ..🤔

I'm a $1 Patron of Aki's, I would highly recommend you become a patron and ask her some of these questions yourself! You also can get some updates and info I can't share with you here.

Don't forget that half the money from the Kickstarter went towards Aki's cosplays of the VOCALOID banks.
Also, the second UTAU was Namida, Aki's own UTAUloid who was cancelled when Daina happened. It wasn't someone else's bank.
Ah yes, I had forgotten to mention that Namida is Aki's own voicebank. Seems a bit like a conflict of interest to have 2 of your own vocal synths but I can't say for sure ^^;
Did half the money really go towards cosplay though? Only asking because I can't imagine $20,000+ went towards cosplay. Especially when Aki herself has only shown off one or two cosplay that are usually extremely affordable lol
Definitely shady and shitty as hell if she spent that money on non-essential things for herself. (I mean things like cosplay and stuff, PC upgrades to keep the show going and rent is fine obviously xD)

I went to a vocamerica concert at the convention Anime Iwai in Florida in 2017 and I have a very short video of Aavana and the other vocaloids preforming, I dont remember what song she sang though😭
what was the month of that con in? avanna's model and the song "silence" was finished october 2017 facebook proves it. so i'm going with that answer.

Very good video! You probably heared of it already but earlier this year there were Aki sh*tacon accusations on Twitter and people terribly mocked EmpathP to a point where she mostly stays away from social media. She wrote a long letter mostly adressing the more recent drama and at the end was a link to a Google Doc were she revealed a bit more about the crowdfunding and the financing on Vocamerica. There were no specific statements made but I (and most of my Vocaloid friends) assume that the project has died

Hey i was wondering if i could get your help on something i asked Circus-P and he said their emails should be on their Channel,but he has does not have communication with them and he can not be of much help here...I don't know what email i need to ask them this on and i know you do covers and this is something that means alot for me get het the people who made the song to know because it was their creation and...i don't wanna be sued...so i was wondering if you know what email(i know Crusher has a business email,but im not sure you can call this business really...) i would like to contact Kira and Crusher on to ask if i may cover a few of there songs as sort of gifts/tributes videos for them i mean that's why i like doing covers in the first place...😅
So do you know the best course of action for asking permission or in Crusher and Kira or atleast letting them know what's going on? Unfortunately, I have no contact with either Kira or Crusher and I don't think I'm quite the perfect for the job to ask "Hey open your email" or something. The best thing to do is @ them on Twitter asking for the permission. I don't mean DM's, but @ing them in a public tweet. I know it may seem silly but if you really want to ask them, just go for it!

Yoistyle did in fact plagiarise for his 3D models. There was evidence on deviantart on him using an exact copy of Tda's hands for most of his early models some of which were used in Vocamerica (same amount and placement of polygons, just run through an algorithm to de-triangulate them. This was a dead giveaway that the file was imported because this level of similarity is impossible to happen on scratch build models, even if their modellers used the same or similar reference images). Texture files of some models of his were also found out to be directly copied from REMmaple, and the bases he used for everything were direct copies of YYB's bases; modelled from scratch but with all the same anatomical mistakes. YYB and REM called him out , had a short lived argument over twitter and deviantart and he retired from 3D modelling.

I had no idea about any of that, which is totally wild because I follow YYB and REM on Twitter.
In that case, makes perfect sense he stopped modeling then because stealing from others is a shitty thing to do.
@@WeebaLu yup, that is the reason the Sonika model that was eventually made was made by a different modeller. The Twitter feud was very short lived and was quickly swept under the rag for obvious reasons, so no wonder you didnt notice. It can still be found if you know where to look.
@@WeebaLu it is quite sad since he could have easily been like Nerudrum or ReYaMa, aka starting from modding a modeller's work they liked to eventually do scratch modelling on a similar style that evolves to being unique...but of course, the western fandom mentality of original work do not steal had to happen

2 years late to this video but I remember seeing that one video of this concert with Dex and Daina, I thought it was alright and that english vocaloids were getting love. it wasnt groundbreaking but great that one side of the vocaloids was being respected. from what I know of the listed members, CHOCOSONG works on and off with the producer Babuchan (being one of the writers for DEAD END MANSION off of Babuland) and maybe one other song.
