Is aiming your fairway wood and your golf hybrid more difficult than any other club?
You know it’s hard to aim accurately with hybrids and fairway woods. But has anyone told you why?
It’s all about the eye line.
Long clubs force you to stand farther from the ball… and farther from the target line.
No wonder it seems impossible to aim with any consistency! You’ve got an awkward, side-angle view of the line you’re trying to follow.
Believe it or not, this very legitimate problem actually has a super easy solution.
I’m going to show you two tricks that will train your eyes to aim accurately with those long clubs.
Get ready to have way more fun with your hybrids and and learn how to hit fairway woods with deadly accuracy.

Great video again.
Thanks for the instruction on ball position by club selection and the eye line check to target line. For years I have made mistakes on position fo the ball.
Our pleasure, are you a subscriber?
Hey Todd, love all your content. Thank you. I am living in Upper Arlington, Ohio home of the Upper Arlington High School Golden Bears and where THE Golden Bear went to High School and where he learned to play golf. Not only did he look like a Golden Bear he was a Golden Bear.
Very cool! Do they have some items from Jack's high school days?
That has been my routine since I realized how badly I was aiming with my feet. Now I hit more fairways with better ball control😊
We like it, learning and making progress 👍
IIRC Nicklaus used to even suggest 18" as a good distance for an intermediate point.
Would never go against Mr. Nicklaus!

I believe that his argument was that he wanted the aim point to be in his field of vision without moving his head.
What is the difference between the maxvert hybrid and the teton? Is there an advantage to having both in the bag?
Good question, the MaxVert is more versatile. You can use it off the tee or ground. The Teton is best only off the tee. Hope that helps.
Part of my problem aiming is that the alignment mark moves as the head tilts into position. So by the time I'm setup I'm not 100% sure I'm still aimed correctly. I hope I explained that right.
Sheldon, makes sense. The set up takes practice and reps to master. Keep at it, work on it on the range just like you would you golf swing. You got this...
Thanks, Coach!
I've been busy at the new job and hardly been playing. Yesterday was my 3 game in 2 months, and I did much better than the last 2 games.
I have a question, should I develop my 5W shoot or continue my 3 iron?
I do hit my 4 iron very well and maybe 5 times or a bit more in a round of golf.
Today, I took out my 5W and kept in my 3 iron.
Congrats on the new job! Suggest you spend more time on the 5wd as it is easier to hit and will give you more height on the ball flight.
@US GOLF TV thank you so much.
When I get home from my flight I'll put the 5W in and take out the 3 iron.
Also I'll go do some practice with the 5W to develop my swing and confidence.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
Todd, my problem is with the driver. I'm 75 & I hit my irons reasonably well. However, I hit low liners and worm burners with my driver, rarely getting a ball airborne. I'm about ready to give up the game and join a monastery.

How using the alignment mark on ball?
Wait … not suppose to move ball on fairway
Can I use a hybrid in semi-high grass?
Yes if the grass is thin
I am from Texas. I have been golfing for about 4 years. My problem is that a lot of the time I hit to the left, no matter if I am driving, using My irons or My woods. What am I doing wrong.
Best bet is to search our channel for hook shots. You can also read our book The Bad Lie which can be found on Amazon
Todd don't forget club face aimed at the intermediate target
Just aim them at a democrat and you'll be fine.
To much talk like most golf instructors. Get to the point
Be nice, it costs nothing.
