Hi Todd - I am 71 yrs old and had a 6 handicap at the start of the year but it has trended up to a 10 now, but this usually happens every year, it will come back down moving forward. I currently play with a Paradym driver 10.5 and average 230 yard drives 😂in nice weather so I decided to try the Maxvert driver to see if I could gain yardage, well, when I got it I went to the range on a monitor and hit 18 balls with both my driver and the Maxvert driver, my average drive with the paradym was 231 yards and with the Maxvet driver I could only average 210 yards. I think for people who have a difficult time hitting a driver this may help them to be more accurate giving them more distance, but for someone who is accurate with their current driver then they will not get more distance due to the club being shorter and being 11.0 degrees. I have returned the club.
Lou from Pearl River, New York, 69 years old. I'm excited to have my new Maxvert 18 degree hybrid. But in my first practice with it at the driving range I was frequntly hooking the ball or hitting very low shots. Any suggestions? Could one factor be hitting off of thin artificial turf surface in the range booth?
Hi Todd this hybrid looks great! I see that you also have a Driver and is this the second club in your arsenal? I'm 68 years old and I like a lot of the features that your clubs have. The fairway finder, the shaft angle and the marking of the ball in the center all great features that would help me a lot!! I'm from Edmonton Alberta and waiting for the snow to go and hopefully by the end of March be out on the driving range! Then middle of April hopefully golfing! Let me know if these are the only 2 clubs you have and if there are any irons coming in the future. Thanks for all your great tips!!
Bri, thank you for the kind words. The team has been busy working on the driver and hybrid. The early feedback is better than we could have ever imagined. Bring on spring!
I am considering this hybrid. I am right handed but play left handed. 65 in two months and have switched to men’s senior shafts. What is the difference between your senior and senior plus?
I am not seeing anything on the product page with a guideline. All I find are the shafts available, stiff, regular, senior ladies and senior plus. Click on one and it doesn’t show me anything. I have to wait to May for the left hand version but want to get the correct shaft when and if I order. What am I missing?
Todd, as an age 75 senior, I prefer hybrids to fairways. For my age I’m a decent player at 10.5 index. I was willing to try these clubs and went to the site. There was a 10% off tab that requested my email which I submitted. However when I went to checkout the discount was not applied, so I did not complete the purchase. Is there something else I need to do to have the discount applied?
Hi Todd. I took my new Maxvert 1 to the range today for the first time. I have never used a hybrid before. I'm afraid I was not having a very good time with this club. I was hitting almost all of my shots on the top edge near the heel by the hoesel. I was hitting mainly off the mat and was hitting weak grounders. I was able to hit a couple of decent shots off a low tee, but they also tended to be pulls. Now, I wasn't hitting my other clubs too well either today. So it could have been just a bad session for me and not a fair test of the club. I assume that I was striking the ball with a closed face and also hitting down too much (even though I was trying to keep the ball forward in my stance). I normally have a very neutral grip and usually have no trouble getting the ball into the air. Any thoughts about what I am doing wrong with this club? Greg from Santa Monica.
Greg, appreciate the questions. Hitting hybrids off a mat can be challenging as they are designed for more of a sweeping motion. Try it off the grass and see what happens. Keep us posted..
@@USGOLFTVshow Well, I have been able to use the hybrid on the course and have had enough success to decide that it will stay in my bag. On the first hole, I flubbed my drive and was facing 175 yards into a very strong headwind. I figured this would be a good test of the Maxvert Hybrid. As you said, I was able to sweep the ball up to just off the green, and made the up-and-down to save my par. I have had several more opportunities to use the club with some success, and believe it will be a good choice for distances between my 3 wood and mid-irons. Thanks, Todd.
You post a lot of videos about hybrids. I'm not a fan of hybrids. Tried several and never can hit them well. My go to club is my 7 wood. Many pros are now using 7 woods and some 9 woods.

I see no left handed option. Can we look for this option in the future?
They will be available in early May, you can email info@vlsgolf.com to get notified when they will be ready for purchase!

Senior plus is more flexible than the senior shaft. There is a guideline on the product page that provide references for each shaft.

First session with maxvert hybrid was a disappointment
Hitting off mat didn’t work well
Can’t get ball in air

Fair points, many of our viewers hit hybrids and love them. This is the great thing about golf, there are many ways to do it. Thanks for posting...
