Oh my gosh! I have that exact picture above the bed. It was my great aunts always hanging in her bedroom.
Wow, small world. We don't know anything about it ie artist, history etc. It was left here by the previous owner and we just left it there. Have a lovely week, Suzie and Rols

So glad the donkey has had his hooves seen to , he must fill a lot better for walking . So glad you let the farmer know what discomfort he must of been in. Light are wonderful, donkey looks healty and the carrot also 😋, no harm to feed a donkey with an inofensive carot, i would love somewone to come and feed my 15 cats at the fence ;))))

Yay! The donkey’s hoofs were ferried. You two are so kind to bring treats for the neighborhood equines. How are you feeling Suzie? You seem to have more energy. That ancient kitchen will be so nice with a new bright coat of lime wash. I have a suggestion. Perhaps you can find another screen at a brocante to hide the ugly tank/boiler (no offense meant). That donkey sure looked a lot happier and spry.

Well done! Y'all were really getting some hard work done, especially with visitors coming! I love the old hand forged nails, Rols removed! Just think how long they were in that kitchen! yes, the more surfaces we have in our homes or working place the more clutter develops

Had there been a fire in there at some point as the beams are very black. Whatever you do it will lighten it for you.

Hey guys...hope you are both well....if I can ask what is the long-term plan for the chateau? Business or home?
Hi Alexa, we are both well thank you. Plans changed when Suzie became ill, it was planned for the chateau to host a training school for Suzie's sugaring business but that will no longer be possible. Now, we have one or two new ideas but this year has just been about recovery and stability in our lives so we will think about any plans next year. Have a lovely week, Suzie and Rols
Such a pretty donkey. I think you should get a couple. I have seen on other chateau blogs, companies which come in and sandblast the ceiling beams. Have you thought of that? Have a good week.

Not trying to be mean, but do you know a lot of horses are on special diets and feeding someone else’s animals is not always appreciated. How would you like random people chucking stuff over your fence for your dogs to eat ? When I moved in my new house I caught my rear neighbor chucking food stuffs over the fence to my dogs. My dogs are not allowed table scraps. Just some food for thought só to speak.
Hi Machelle, thank you for watching. It's a fair point but the owner of the donkey is also the owner of the horses and we asked his permission to also feed the horses. He's happy for carrots and apples but no bread, not that we would ever give them bread. Have a lovely week, Suzie and Rols
