    With all do respect.im from Arlington Tx. I've seen brothas from south and west Dallas do this. They called it the " cofield shuffle and Beto style". These are prisons. Some of them taught me the techniques when I was locked up. It definitely works! Black power and love all day everyday!

      The Midwest (in Chicago) had its own version I saw it as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s. It had 3 levels
      1.) JHR- looked a bit like the Pika-boo boxing system.
      2.) 52 was a subsystem in the art.
      3.) Was a part of the system called Diamond or Diamond Cutter

    In my diallo is using some methods from ki nagomba Cha kichwa ya mwafrika ya mashariki , Al raisi , or( la testa =the head or big buckle as the Italians call it). Al raisi or la testa are the two most common terms for this east afrikan head fighting style ,vwhick is prominent in aretrea and habasha (ethiopia) , I believe it was discovered by Ayatollah khomeni and Benito mussalinni as they tried to invade east afrikan and the defence warriors there in hand to hand combat sprung it on the mean men on the ground..

    Just to add to the Hip Hop part. Yes NYC started Hip Hop. But some of the dance elements started on the west coast. Dance styles like Locking,Popping,Boogaloo and Strutting came from the west coast. Then NYC people adopted them(after seeing them on Soul Train) and added them along with their Breaking and Uprock styles.

We were doing this back in the 80s. Never knew where it came from or who started doing it first...it was just a thing lol. Been reemurging myself back into this style that I did so many years ago as a youngin...becoming a true student of the combative science of this African warrior art. Appreciate y'all and those like you retaining and spreading the knowledge. Stay up and keep pressing forward at all times. Peace.

      Chris W under controlled fighting environments I agree but on the street whr it ain't no rules, effective shit was displayed. Hell if u losing a fight biting ain't forbidden. Bruce Lee bit Chuck Norris in the Chinese connection. Long story short do wut u must to win.

    • @cwilkinsonwck
      @cwilkinsonwck 6 лет назад

      If your skilled enough, you won't have to bite. Difference in a trained fighter who lives for it and the person who can fight now and then ordinary people and accidentally pull off a couple wins. It goes deep, then is plain and simple. It's definitely a science and not a movie. Movies have ruined w.c. and a lot of other ancient Chinese martial arts.

    • @rayelmoreii2631
      @rayelmoreii2631 6 лет назад

      Chris W totally agree, so it's integrity and confidence in ones skills to apply effectively that will determine if one becomes a biter in a fight or not. It's like u bite Whn u losing.

    What he did from around 1:22 to around 1:36 is good, but can be made better. He didn't have to jump from side to side in order to grab Lyte's left arm with his left hand. He could have simply made the adjustment by grabbing Lyte's right arm with his left, or right hand which would cut down on movement, and make it more direct. And I shouldn't even say this since I'm giving insight to my own fighting style which is similar to his.

    The best way to master ANY fighting system is real-time sparring with head gear and gloves or without them.
    For the sake of the 52 blocking system, UFC gloves and head gear work best, for effective execution.
    There are many beautiful fighting styles, but the application of the art will always surpass theory.
    When punches are coming at you with speed and power, and you are caught with a big shot in the process, that’s when your fighting skills matter most.
    Trust me, I learned the hard way. I was forced to learn to defend and counter. Practice is the foremost best way to master the art.
    The 52 blocking system,if applied correctly and effectively, is very effective, especially if you incorporate proper footwork and execute timely shots after your blocks.
    Don’t just rely on blocking; you have to punch your ass off, in a real fight.
    I recommend that all students of 52 blocks, learn formal boxing before endeavoring to use this science in a real fight. It’s more than a sweet display of kung fu- like blocks against punches not thrown in real time.
    Both guys appear to know their stuff well. I respect the work they are doing.
