Welcome to the 3rd dimension gentlemen...it is a place that exists between the one dimension (actual reality) and the other one (the internet) and clashes and intrudes upon the others. In this new hyperreality we cannot agree on anything, let alone talk to each other and it is only going to get worse. Enjoy the ride.

After listening to Tucker talk about evolution using designer dogs as evidence of adaptive radiation and referencing the fossil record while claiming that we've never seen any evidence of new species resulting from mutation and external pressures, I get the impression that he concentrated his educational attention on his journalism classes. Classes which certainly must've prepared him to absorb and fully comprehend articles about genetics and evolution in magazines like Scientific American or perhaps The National Enquirer. ;) In my own reality, probably because actually reading Darwin's "Origin Of Species And The Descent Of Man" poisoned my mind, I have yet to see any living creature that didn't appear to be the product of either asexual or sexual reproduction and I certainly don't believe in spontaneous generation. I do wonder what Tucker thinks about the clear evidence of extinctions and evolutionary processes at work in the fossil record. If we ever manage to re-create Eohippus in the lab, I might give him one to keep as a pet.

Dogs have less genetic information than wolves that's what he meant. Pruning genetic information to get a new organism is not evolution it's selection or adaptation.
No lab experiment that I know of or that is not disputed was shown to create new genetic information.
And yes there are competing theories to darwinian evolution which is too slow and too improbable to work. Theories like the ones proposed by Denis Noble where he takes the example of immune system cells and applies it to evolution to make it work.

Controlled (corporate) media has been at the cause of hyper-reality manipulation of the public forever. National news (propaganda) influences the masses.
Reality is not what YOU think something is. Rather, reality is what you can get two or more people to agree-to. quote from Ron Hubbard.
A degree in any science does not qualify an individual to determine what is reality. It would be folly to trust the "experts". They are often paid shills for their puppet-masters who write the checks. The best recent example was the manufactued pestilence combined with authoritarian manipulation.
Those groups that control the internet and communication will dictate what they want for "reality", be-damned what anyone thinks. Censor the opposition is their method of control.

@@zaclovesschool2273 I certainly didn't intend to do so because I do respect Tucker's courage in investigative journalism, but rather to highlight that as Thinking Ape implied, our current social dialogue appears to be plaqued by people with name recognition. Celebrity status alone doesn't qualify them to comment competently on fields of study about which they know little.
As part of my major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, I took undergraduate microbiology and virology- even made a little pocket change as a lab assistant to an HIV researcher. I recognize that none of that put me in strong position to comment on the origins of and proposed defensive measures against pandemics. I try to stay in my lane when those smarter than me are talking. I think it helps me to sleep more soundly at night.

100% agree. Which is probably one of the reasons today's musicians, actors and superstars are for the most unknown and have their own extremely niche following. Most people are completely unaware of what the pulse of our society or culture is at the moment. Everyone's in their own echo chamber. That's why we can't come to definitive conclusions on any of our problems. Possibly why I think we'll never experience a rebellion or revolution.

A big problem is there are are no geographical music "scenes" anymore... Centred on a real, physical place like a club or bar where everyone in the area hangs out, and there's a friendly rivalry between bands and artists that drives their creativity. You look at any era defining band, artist or genre from the 1950s to the 2000s, and they pretty much all had that in common.
Today what we have are extremely niche, algorithmically governed, online "communities", with followers spread all over the globe so there can never be any real, physical interaction. There's no cross-pollination between different genres to create anything new and unique. Everything is just locked into these pre-defined lanes.

Not that Walsh hasn't broached an important topic or two, but to forthrightly state in a stentorian baritone that "millions of kids are taking hormone blockers" but then Jamie finding stats showing about 4,000 kids a year start taking these hormone blockers shows an extreme disconnect. Fear-mongering + stat padding ramped up and up and up = more converts.

There is an excellent vid here on YT called “why nothing has changed since 1999” and omg it ia actually spot on the money. The guy basically says that, as we all know, the 1920s up until the 1990s every decade had a “culture, defining music, style, etc etc” Whats worse is, we are as far away from 2000 as 1976 was back in 2000, that shocked me… like what!? I’m about to turn 32, born 1992, so LUCKILY got to experience the 90s and the 2000s as a kid then teen. It truly felt like a different era… anyway go check out the vid, the main reason is obviously the internet, from 2000 (apart from the spillover 90s vibe) until now, we absolutely have NO defining fashion, music, basically everything you think of when thinking of each decade in the 1900s, and it’s SO true. It’s horrible and no wonder Gen Z are the most nostalgic group so far, think about how many 80s related things in pop culture are and have been about for years now… I digress. Go check out, “why nothing has changed since 1999”… if you are a millennial like me, it is unbelievably true, but everyone will agree, regardless of age.

That's basically the entire internet. The increasing censorship and slow but sure attempt to lockdown the whole internet is a function of the system, of the social organism. There's only two options: top-down censorship by the elites, forcing one unified worldview on everyone (a dystopia); or a mass of screaming people each pushing a reality bubble worldview that is more and more disconnected from reality (another dystopia).
People now like to talk about and praise "independent journalists" - but there are no independent journalists. They are all talking heads: all trying to convince you to subscribe to their nutty version of reality. Tucker doesn't believe in evolution, Joe Rogan seems to change his worldview from one guest to the guest, Jimmy Dore deliberately doesn't understand the danger of global warming, Russel Brand seems mostly concerned with his own ego than your wellbeing... I could go on and on and on and on. Sure - overall - they're better than the elites' lies, and you can still get much useful information out of them, but they're all trending in the same direction. Puberty blockers have existed since the 1980's, at 5k over 44 years that's about 120 a year. That's such a low number that drug wouldn't even be in production anymore. I don't know what the numbers are, I can't find accurate numbers they're all over the place, but I'll tell you this, whatever amount of children use puberty blockers it needs to be WAY higher than that if it's been in production that long.

Like the CDC, WHO, FBI, NIH, the media, the medical community, the experts.
Though this is not the point of your video, I do want to speak to the issue of a person like Tucker Carlson. I can't speak for everyone, but I listen to him and don't "believe everything he says". I assess using my own critical thinking what is likely to be true and what is not. I know that the authorities are lying to me. I have no reason to believe Carlson is intentionally lying, though he might be wrong about any given subject matter and is often the first person to say so. It's up to each of us to decide what is true based on the available evidence from many sources, not appeals to authority or status.
The problem is those with authority and status have completely undermined their credibility in the last few years, and not "accidentally" but willfully and for nefarious motives. The age of blind trust is OVER.

New watcher of yours. First, I find this video and concept very relevant. Basically, even from Europe (France baise ouais), American cultural and sociological "debates"/"issues" are imported there through social media. Recently, after the overturn of Roe v Wade, the French government enshrined abortion in Constitution, even though abortion, as important as it is, has no place in the Constitution. Or rather, the French Constitution does not have the role to enshrine abortion.
Going back to our import of your problems through your (US) soft power: X, Facebook, TikTok, all this garbage. An increasingly high number of young people are raised on social media. As such, it is logical that internet speech and content would become more proeminent in society. In REAL LIFE. The domain of life we thought was separate from "internet bullshit" until now. Despite what I just said, for nuance's sake, it still is, somewhat. But, it depends on your surroundings.
On the matter of truth and acknowledging common facts, Internet is filled with bullshit and gaslighting. The limits of scientific consensus, of commonly admitted facts, of the scientific method itself, is really demostrated by the speed at which topics advance and how slow and humble (good) research and researchers are. Internet has connected people, and knowledge too. Furthermore, in this dark hour of partisanship, the matter of academic partisanship and corruption also contribute to muddying the waters. As such, we have no certainty on anything, or at least, since establishing certainties, and acquiesing on facts has become impossible.
Besides, Internet is made up of anonymous people. It has made it easier for anyone to become a lot more partisan and aggressive than they would be IRL. People on the internet dare to say stuff they would never say IRL. Now, they may increasingly do IRL too. I can imagine, even on French university campus women agreeing to it. They may have had "regular" opinions on the gender debate in the past, but hyperreality is the phenomenom of the growing influence of internet on people and societies. Hence, it also changes people's beliefs. The Overton window in France, and everywhere in the Western world really, the so-called "western democracies", is stretching to the extremes of both sides (our far-right is the equivalent of your puritan republican side while our far-left is the equivalent of your woke democrat side in the US). But the left (and the far-left woke stuff) which would rather side with misandry is the "camp of progress" so it is not surprising that it ends up being more socially acceptable.

  • @Xedhadeaus
    @Xedhadeaus 4 месяца назад +17

If we can't agree, we can't move forward. I really hate the idea that the world has kind of adopted the rules of religion and politics, meaning that now there are several incredibly heavy topics that people choose not to speak on unless they feel they're surrounded by people who agree.
We basically just have a bunch of camps that never exchange opinions, feelings or information and only push for it in order to get more. For example, feminism typically never crosses swords peacefully with the opposite sex unless it is in an effort to gain ground. Things like mentor her too. Identities typically only leave their hives to gain ground too, and come with others brandishing the appropriate flag in order to be shielded from perfectly reasonable criticism due to their methods. I'm sure the current dei and baby groups will only cross territories to gain ground too. And if they preach safety and their version of equality, everyone who opposes them on a surface level appears to be bad...
For me, what we're seeing is the same tactic being used over and again by different marginalized groups because we typically conduct ourselves privately. Back when groups were more public, sharing someone's shady tactics didn't come down to aggressive screenshots or even videos for context. So there are probably countless instances of groups trying to bully their way into others in the same way "diversity" has basically infected streaming entertainment media. But because we're all apart... we can't continue.

    • @Viper-yv8tw

Definitely. People just don't hear other opinions and/or don't want to listen to them. To me this is bizarre, because how can you create a detailed point of view if all you know is just reinforcing your own beliefs? But this also creates isolation, so that when you encounter someone with a different position on a topic, you instantly start getting defensive.
This makes it much easier to manipulate people because these small groups can't pose that serious of a threay

Evolution takes so long that by time we can confidently say that there are new species - original species usually become obsolete and die out.
Also, there are plenty of cases (birds in particular) where related species that are considered to be separate can produce fertile offspring, but that rarely happens naturally. Because animals are usually picking their mate based on traits that are prevalent in their own species, other species are simply unattractive to them.
Only human with it's abstract thinking and curiosity would think of intentionally crossing different species and seeing the result.

The issue with Tucker is that more likely he attacked your worldview that you have committed to and cannot adapt to a world where evolution is not a viable theory.
Random chance assembly of organic molecules bringing about the first life is a bankrupt idea. I think you should reexamine your assumptions.

You are confusing abiogenesis with the evolutionary origin of species.
Evolution is basically random mutation and NON-random natural selection (environmental pressure).
Mutations happen. No one denies this. Most mutations are a disadvantage to the organism. But some allow
the organism to better adapt, live longer, and produce more offspring. Some of those offspring will have the same
      advantageous adaptation.

@@reasonablespeculation3893 even if I would grant that life just sprung up miraculously , I still do not grant that there is any evidence that random mutations bring about any new information, and new species. This idea has been conclusively demonstrated as false. Any "new species" was already a subset of the dominant species whose traits which they already contained in their DNA expressed more dominantly in the new environment. The common example is the false idea that some bacteria evolved to be more resistant to antibacterials etc. this is not true. There was already a subset of bacteria within the population that was resistant and as the dominant variant died off the subset became dominant.. no new variations and it was a loss of information not a gain. This isn't evolution this is adaptation from environment pressures.
