    It's amazing how a person's emotions affect others around them. Look at Jerry and his innocent happiness and how it sweeps up the driver. Then look at the Karens... We have all but forgotten the golden rule as a people. Be like Jerry and his "taxi driver". Moments with that child like innocent happiness are too few to waste.

  • @krsynx
    @krsynx 4 года назад +49

    The last one has "potential movie" written all over! I'd pay to see a comedy drama movie of a protagonist Jerry becoming friends with a complete stranger he mistook for a taxi driver and saying his iconic catchphrase now and then. The driver was a young man or woman who had gone through a rough time, but then Jerry came into their life and their lives changed forever~.

      If I understand correctly, the mother and her child who played Animal Crossing could have pressed charges and asked for the case to be expedited with the other kid. Given it is out of state, as she has fled the state, the CCTV, police reports and affidavits should be enough to grant her additional time, if not prove to the court a pattern of behavior, leading to max jail time.
      So yeah, Always Press Charges

    • @Lawsonomy1
      @Lawsonomy1 3 года назад +3

      Multiple charges insure she doesn't just get a slap on the rist. They always go light on first offenses and avoid jail time (if it's a white lady crying). If they establish that she just keeps doing these things then she can get the book thrown at her.

    I like to be like Jerry sometimes. Whenever I go through a check out I always try to be amusingly different. After all, how many times can one say "how are you, today?" before you get immune to the standard response. It's fun to see their reaction when I respond with "Why do you ask? Do you know something I don't know?" in a panic stricken voice. You can always see the light switch on when they recognize the joke.

    That second story… OP should have pressed charges; with a second count pending in a different jurisdiction, the DA and judge in the original jurisdiction would be that much less likely to accept a plea bargain, as it would prove a pattern of (mis)behavior.

  • @jefferykaplan4400
    @jefferykaplan4400 Год назад

    As to the first story op should have pressed charges especially against a individual with a history of bad behavior. It would keep that individual in jail a little longer and possibly teach that individual a lesson. Also that individual should be sued. As to the second story op was very nice for making a lonely older man's day a little better. We need more people like op in this world.

    I was picking up my friend after a night out. We were flatmates. He was drinking, I was sober and just finished work. Whilst waiting for him to find me, two girls jumped into the back of my car, thinking I was a taxi. After telling them for the millionth time I was not a taxi and them refusing to leave my vehicle, my friend (who arrived soon after them) just told me to drive home. I did just that.
    After the girls realised I was driving in completely the opposite direction, they demanded I change my route. I did not. Then they claimed they were being kidnapped. I stopped the car within seconds, then my friend got out and opened the door for them to leave. They refused. Perfect timing, two police officers were nearby and saw the whole thing.
    Officers saw me stop the car, my friend opened the back door and told them very loudly to get out, whilst gesturing the 'out' signal with his hand. They clearly saw a non-kidnapping situation. After explaining them the situation, my friend and I were on our way, but not before hearing the girls complaining about me not losing my taxi licence, and how they were going to get home (this was before Uber, and 2am in a party city in the UK = no available taxis).
    If they had only been polite, I might have done them a favour, but alcohol, shouting, rude = no chance!

    As a former employee of "Bohl's", the employee would have been fired for giving customers his employee discount. Now, he could have given a percentage off with the manager's consent, which is why he waved them over to his register. He had been told to give them a discount by the manager.

    I have to admit that it makes me crazy when I hear oh, it's not worth the effort to press charges. All you're doing is allowing them to get away with more. This lady wasn't going to stop assaulting people apparently and the additional charges would have ensured that she knew people weren't going to put up with it. Okay that's it, gonna go rant at my dog

    • @katherinkeegan8601

      I agree with you on principle. Not sure more charges were needed at that point. The store could have pressed charges as well if needed. The fact that she had a warrant and there was evidence of another assault in their possession I think would have been enough.
