That scene epitomizes the obscene amounts of pain, gross-out, and misery the writers inflict on Squidward on a constant basis due to their extremely screwed-up belief that having Squidward constantly getting beaten up, mentally tortured, or badly injured in every episode is somehow "funny." It's not funny!
Season 6 was definitely around the time they started adding disturbing faces and disgusting imagery. It felt like you couldn't go at least one or two episodes in season 6 without seeing a massive vein or seeing someone’s skin gets ripped off.

I remember meeting Tom Kenny at fan expo in Toronto when I was just 10 years old back in 2014-2015. I'm so happy that I was able to hug him. He even did the laugh for us.
Stephen Hillenburg originally wanted his show to come to a conclusion with the SpongeBob SquarePants movie but Nickelodeon didn’t want the show to end and Hillenburg let Nickelodeon take control of his series but remained apart of the series as an executive producer.

The whole idea of Spongebob and his unvierse was genius! Spongebob is easily among the five best cartoons of all time, including "Tom & Jerry" and the Looney Toons.
I won’t lie, I thought some of the episodes after Season 4 and the first movie were pretty good. Not as fantastic as the old ones but I didn’t mind some of them

I loved SpongeBob when I was a kid, it was my childhood. I was in elementary school in the late 2000’s, early 2010’s and I watched hours of episodes. The older ones were my favourite, so much memories and nostalgia.
Fun fact: Stephen Hillenburg planned to end the series after the first movie since he didn't wanna jump the shark like most popular tv series. Unfortunately Hillenburg ended up leaving the show along with a large portion of the original writers and storyboard artists and so a new creator and writers ended up taking over the show and boy i gotta say they have absolutely butchered one of my and many people's favorite childhood tv shows of all time. This is why i only stick to watching the seasons 1-3 all up until the first movie since that's when the series was at the height of it's plot and comedy. All of the other episodes after the first movie (especially season 9-11) are as enjoyable to watch as modern Simpsons and Family Guy.
Number 0: Spongebob went too far when the producers didn't even bother to wait until Steve Hillenburg was in his grave before whipping out the craptasmic, worthless, spinoffs.
The back story of "Sailor Mouth" is pretty funny. It was inspired by a story told by the show's creative director Derek Drymon of how he got into a lot of trouble as a kid for "saying the F word in front of his mother." This is extremely ironic when you learn that Derek's mother has a bit of a Sailor Mouth herself.
227: Mrs. Puff was the first to try to kill SpongeBob before Squidward. She does get annoyed but hates working with him to pass the driving test. This is a whole other level
What about Grandma's Kisses? That one is just pure evil. Squidward and the Krusty Krab patrons relentlessly bully SpongeBob until he runs out of the Krusty Krab in tears because his grandma gave him a kiss on the forehead.

In my honest opinion, they should’ve ended the series after the first movie like it was initially planned. The post movie episodes were more annoying than funny. The episode, “To Love a Patty.” Sponge Bob fell in love with a Krabby Patty. I watched that episode as a kid and even as an adult find it weird, creepy, and disturbing!
The town folks are literally the biggest jerks: From being a hypocrit to squidward, arresting someone partially clothed when their kind literally don't wear clothes at all. This is why Fred and Oldman Jenkins are one of the more lovable ones
I have seen some reactors on RUclips freak out a little over a couple scenes from the very first Halloween episodes. Most notably, JamaicanSnuggie and ItsTotallyCody.
Notice how these instances all unsurprisingly come from after the first 3 seasons. I don't even acknowledge it as being the same show as those early years. I call it "SpongeBob SquarePants: Adult Party Cartoon".
I also despised the One Coarse Meal episode, but I somewhat disagree that we are supposed to feel sorry for Plankton. This was post-movie seasons, and while there is lack of continuity on this show, we cannot forget how Plankton's worse deed was to frame Mr. Krabs to the point where King Neptune set Mr. Krabs to die and all he did was cheer it on and eat popcorn. Yes Mr. Krabs is also not a good person and owes so many people for his deeds but Plankton is someone I cannot sympathize for.
The fact that non of these moments come from the first three seasons proves that they are the best. Before when Spongebob relied mostly in comedy and fun instead of groce images and delutional plots. Before they turned likable and and even relatable characters into bad-executed and one-dimensional versions of themselves.
This is what happens when you milk a beloved franchise too much, it spoils so badly that it's unrecognizable. Nickelodeon should've just left Spongebob at his 2004 Movie, which was supposed to be the Series Finale. Edit: You should do a Top 10's Video on why VELMA was hated.

One Course Meal was pretty grim, but A Pal For Gary was mean-spirited. I absolutely hated it when SpongeBob was so oblivious to Gary’s fear, even when he is in complete danger!! 😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬

"It all started when I was born" needs to be much higher. That is one of the only scenes from the show that I refuse to watch.
Doing terrible things to them is one thing, but reading their own personal secret diaries to others is way worse. I hate Squidward for his terrible behavior and actions towards SpongeBob and Patrick, and not to be mean or anything, but honestly I like seeing bad things happen to Squidward because that’s what he deserves for mistreating them.
I lowkey felt a disturbance with these episodes when I was younger but ignored it just for the simple fact that I loved SpongeBob. Literally grew up with this show since birth in 99.

Everytime I see patrick do something stupid af, i really wanted to watch a compilation of patrick being in pain. So satisfying af for me. (Especially when he gets struck my lightning, gets burnt by running to the sun and Squidward beating him up)
The episode, “To Love a Patty.” Sponge Bob fell in love with a Krabby Patty. I watched that episode as a kid and even as an adult find it weird, creepy, and disturbing!
The town folks are literally the biggest jerks: From being a hypocrit to squidward, arresting someone partially clothed when their kind literally don't wear clothes at all.
This is why Fred and Oldman Jenkins are one of the more lovable ones

I have seen some reactors on RUclips freak out a little over a couple scenes from the very first Halloween episodes. Most notably, JamaicanSnuggie and ItsTotallyCody.
Notice how these instances all unsurprisingly come from after the first 3 seasons. I don't even acknowledge it as being the same show as those early years. I call it "SpongeBob SquarePants: Adult Party Cartoon".
This is why the first three seasons will be the best!

I'm surprised Nasty Patty isn't on this list. Spongebob and Mr. Krabs thought they killed the guy, and then almost buried him ALIVE.
I also despised the One Coarse Meal episode, but I somewhat disagree that we are supposed to feel sorry for Plankton. This was post-movie seasons, and while there is lack of continuity on this show, we cannot forget how Plankton's worse deed was to frame Mr. Krabs to the point where King Neptune set Mr. Krabs to die and all he did was cheer it on and eat popcorn. Yes Mr. Krabs is also not a good person and owes so many people for his deeds but Plankton is someone I cannot sympathize for.
The fact that non of these moments come from the first three seasons proves that they are the best. Before when Spongebob relied mostly in comedy and fun instead of groce images and delutional plots. Before they turned likable and and even relatable characters into bad-executed and one-dimensional versions of themselves.
It was at #14-#10 that I started to reflexively flip the bird. The Bikini Bottomites, Patrick, SpongeBob, and etc. J.C.!

The dirty vs. clean episode was SO nasty!! First time I ever watched it, I barely got halfway through the episode before I had to run to the bathroom to get physically sick - I’m truly shocked that one wasn’t on this list.

I respectfully disagree. Nothing went too far and it was all funny. The point of a lot of these episodes is that sometimes life is unfair and doesn't make sense, yet we must make the best of things, no less.

Sandy is my least favorite of the main characters in SpongeBob
Mostly cause she doesn’t make me laugh as often as the others do
That said, I still appreciate how useful and friendly of an ally she is like in Feral Friends
And she definitely didn’t deserve to be punished after Plankton stole her fur
