- These are the uncut final 18 minutes of the concert that was broadcasted live on dutch television (NPS). It was the very last concert of the North Sea Jazz Festival 1997, The Hague, Netherlands. Looks like everybody's having a blast - on and off stage. There was some love in that house that evening - as Philip Bailey said.

I keep watching this over and over. I loved when the band rocked out!!! Love the best band ever!!!! Unreplacable 4 sure. Wish Maurice was able to be healthy enough to be there. Bless Sheldons soul and Andrews also. ❤️

I was there, too. Agree. Instead of Buckshot Lefonque, I went for Lee Ritenour at Tuinpaviljoen, another legendary concert on the list for only that one festival day.

The best fricken funk beat and song of all time
This is to the misconception of the dislikes;
there are many times when the group is not dialed in to the groove ( or the mental focus required to deliver a balanced effort) and musically they may be out of synchronization)...
therefore, the harmonic balance is not present.
However, the group is one to be truly respected musically... So please bear the truth and understand the main objective is to "play through the rough spots," as they make an effort to deliver an outstanding performance overall.......

Жаль что нет пока что полной записи концерта с видео, я не нашел по крайней мере. Записей их концертов 1997 года вообще почему то очень мало. Хотя я считаю 1997-1998 годы один из лучших периодов выступлений группы Earth, Wind & Fire

IT'S crazy Maurice WHITE picked Sheldon to join the group as guitar player -Maurice dies from Parkinson and later Sheldon had to leave the group because he was diagnosed with the same disease..that's too ! crazy BADDEST BAND TO EVER DO IT!!
well now he too is dead
He plays these parts on guitar with that ease..soloing inbetween and singing on top of all that in harmony with the lead vocals oh and dancing routine all at once!! No wonder Maurice asked him to join the band. Sad to hear of him getting the same disease as Maurice..

I am a huge fan of ewf but there is 1 point i wanna discuss. How many years is Ralph Johnsson member of this superband but until now he has any contribution to the band besides back ground vocals...
Behind the scenes, he may be the glue. You never know. Plus, trust is a big part of it also. He is their brother.
Originally, he was a drummer for them.

Nonetheless, that is a good question as to why that happened?
Wasn't the drummer also Fred White, who is the brother of Maurice and Verdine? May have been a way to keep him in the group.
North Sea Jazz biggest mistake was the move to Rotterdam!!

I really miss the girls who danced in the band in the late 90's. Short skirts, transparent pantyhose, and sexy asses. I do not know who decided to remove them. But it was a bad idea. Return these girls or invite new ones, what's the problem?

BUT, WITHOUT EXCEPTION!...
Invariably--and Un-Fortunately!--THE ONE THING THAT YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON GOING HORRIBLY WRONG! AT VIRTUALLY ANY "LIVE PERFORMANCE!" IS THE SINGING!/VOCALS!--WHICH ARE NEARLY **ALWAYS! HORRIBLY "OFF!" AND BEYOND ANY KIND OF REPAIR!**
I mean, AS A TYPICAL EXAMPLE, just (try to 😂😆😂) listen to 5:35-5:45!!--it's Simply **AWFUL!** 😳 😲 😂 😆 😂
And just Before that--4:55-5:33--isn't anything to "write home about", either!, Lol... 😂 😂 😂

I doubt anyone in that audience noticed. Its easy to pick things apart with youtube but that crowd that it was good enough for an encore
