Yup. The Novels are must-read IMO. For each movie (and they're Canon) you get the author's spin on the characters but you get to read/"hear" their first person thoughts. Revenge of the Sith would have been AMAZING (and felt more tragic) if they had included the opening narrative from the novel. It talks about how everyone in the Republic was freaked when Palps was taken, and how everyone rejoiced, knowing he would be saved because Anakin and Obi-Wan were on the scene. It talks about kids arguing over who got to be which Jedi when they played. But most heart rending was the insight into the relationship between Obi and Ani. When they tell ObiWan to get Anakin to spy on the Chancellor, in the book he tells them it is impossible for Anakin to betray a friend. He talks to Yoda and Mace about Anakin's tendency to believe he can "do it all" and then doing it all. He won't abandon friends or troopers. He risks himself and the mission to save others all the time. And the one thing the movie should have made people understand was that Obi Wan wasn't BSing about how he loved Anakin, because in the novel, Obi Wan admits to himself he would compromise any mission to save his friend and brother Anakin. Also as a side note there's a book that takes place right before ROTS called Labyrinth of Evil and that really helps you understand how Palps literally masterminded everything going back AGES to end up as Emperor with Anakin at his side. The books also talk about Anakin wondering if the suit was meant to annoy and hinder him as a test from his Master. It talks about how the breathing regulator drives him bonkers. The audio in his helmet is too loud and he can't moderate it. His new limbs were longer than his flesh ones and he not only had trouble walking at the start, but he had to completely change his Lightsaber fighting form to 1) protect his chestplate and 2) adapt to a more limited range of motion without finesse but with tons of brute strength. The books also make Anakin seem way less "sheep-like" in terms of being manipulated by Palps. The movie scene where he cries out "in my perspective the Jedi are evil!!!" He knows damn well he attacked Mace because Palps said he could save Padme. He already KNEW Anakin would kill her because he had forseen Anakin becoming his apprentice (although not in Vadery form). In the books you are able to see how Palps was subtly planting doubts into Anakin from day 1- it wasn't just "Ill save your girl" and Anakin goes dark and kills kids.
That whole last episode had me choking up. But what I find the most interesting about what you were saying is, that if you go back to the arc with the father daughter and brother. Asoka dies, or is about to die, and the daughters last action is to bring Asoka back. So I've always wondered if she passed her power to her, or if she did something to help her balance the force. To my knowledge they've never really explained why the bird follows her. Always though that was interesting.
Whatever it was that went into Ahsoka from the daughter, first went through Anakin though. Maybe a bit of his power got pulled into Ahsoka in that moment? Just a thought
She became the embodiment of the light side of the force when she was brought back to life and the bird isn't the sister it's just there and it follows her for that specific reason, her being the personification of the light side of the force.
I feel during the finale as if Vader had been sad to see what he thought was the final resting place of his once Padawan and that in his mind he was saying “I’m so sorry snips” and perhaps he visited this place often because he still cared and missed Ashoka

I don't know how I feel about this "bleeding" business... I think I prefer the old legends story that red saber crystals are merely artificially formed. So that said, I thought it might have been cool if Ahsoka got the white crystals from Tera Sinube, the elderly dinosaur looking Jedi from the episode "Lightaber Lost" - as far as I know he had the first white lightsaber blade in canon.
In my TTRPG Star Wars Saga Edition game I grew a red crystal for my guy so that he could pretend to be an Inquisitor. My GM gave me the option to do either and I didn't want to bleed a real one for a ruse. There's also lots of legend material where people use a variety of crystals. For example, Tenel Ka gets some from a volcanic cave on Yavin 4, Lowbacca gets one from an old computer that the Rebels left there, Jiana grows one (which was green, I think), ans Coran Horn in "I, Jedi" used a large crystal from a jeweled goblet that some pirates looted. Ans then you have KOTOR, where red crystals can be gathered from Kinrath eggs. I don't mind their being alternative ways of getting lightsaber crystals, but insisting that all red crystals were tortured is just weird.

INBCPC1994 well yeah I know he’s dead but he is a force ghost meaning he is somewhat alive but with the force and he can talk to luke so why can’t he talk to ashoka
How do you know that Vader picking up Ahsoka's Light saber takes place years after the crash? Since the saber isn't buried beneath a thick layer of ice and snow, it is very likely that the scene takes place weeks or months after the crash.. Thus if this scene takes place shortly after the crash, then Anakin didn't give those blue lightsabers to Ahsoka "years ago", as stated multiple times in the video, but rather days or a few weeks before the crash, 'cause the siege of didn't last for years but rather days considering what happened in parallel on Coruscant.
Besides the weathering of the helmets, which is what made me feel it was years later, thinking back now it's pretty obvious with the Snow Trooper uniforms, probe Droid, and other details that show this is clearly in the era of the Empire, and couldn't be that soon after the fall of the Republic. I actually felt that it was an even later time than indicated in the video. I figured that with Order 66 and news that the ship had crashed that Vader had just assumed that Ahsoka and Rex had died and this final scene took place after he sensed her in Rebels and said the line "the apprentice lives." That would have been enough to justify him spending the time and resources to really investigate the crash site.
It took years before the Empire started using Stormtrooper armor and that class of shuttles. If this were months after Order 66, it would’ve been Clone Troopers in their Phase II armor accompanying Vader.
Well considering the fact that when she dropped it there was no snow So it being buried in ice or snow could happen late in that planets winter cycle But as you said it could only be a few months or so after the crash But why did Vader go to the planet in the first place?
@@subscriberswithnovideos-ql2oq In Legends, we see entire battles being fought post Ep III by Clones and enlistees in Republic era armor / equipment, led by Vader proper. In Canon, the earliest Stormtrooper appearance I'm aware of was in 17 BBY, but in another there were still Clones in Phase 2 armor in 15 BBY. In the real world, even phasing out just a uniform can take years. Weapons and equipment take longer. In the ending scene we see a wholly Imperial force. There are Imperial probe droids, which presumably were adapted from similar CIS droids which takes time, we see Imperial Snow and Stormtroopers, which means they've long since replaced just the Phase 2 armor but have even gone on to issue specialized armor. So yes, chances are this was at least a couple years after Order 66 in 19 BBY
I can’t wait to see how well she transitions into live action. Some people wont like it, but if one person was destined to be portrayed in live action, then it’s Anakin’s seriously cool apprentice.
I disagree. I feel as though when Vader went to the crash site it was because he could still sense his former Padawan. When he picked up the light saber it acted as a conduit between Anakin and the light side of the force for a moment. When he looks up it’s Anakin at that point and he finally sees what he was looking for... the sign that his Padawan still lives and with anguish Vader returns and he knows what he must do to prove that he has fully committed to the dark side and will truly rid himself of Anakin forever.
I thought that moment when they showed Vader's eye through his mask was maybe a mirror to his fight with Ahsoka years later when she managed to cut through his mask and you can see for the first time the emotions that are going on through Vader's mind and that sliver of Anakin that was there for a moment. Also I always found those little human moments Vader has fascinating, when he kneels down, the odd gentleness he displayed when handling the blade show the human under the machines.
If anyone's wondering what he means with "these crystals suffered" is that Kyber crystals are alive, they're not just rocks they have minds and emotions of their own.
Stormtrooper armor was not commissioned by the Empire for years. If this were 6 months later, Vader would’ve been here with clones still using the Phase II armor the Republic gave them.
Actually Vader always suspected that she was alive he even went as far as to put her at the top of the list in terms of Jedi that needed to be found. I don't believe he thought she was dead but it was nice to see he still showed an ounce of humanity for his former Padawan.
The owl-to me has always meant the light-side of force is present. So whenever the owl shows up it’s like a light-side omen if you will. Telling Vader that there’s light in him still. Since the owl only appears before light-side users or when they are around. I also think it was there because the light-side force echo Ashoka left by simply once being there as well as leaving one Of her old lightsabers at the site.
everyone mentions the inquisitors crystals were ahsokas that vader found, but he only found one saber and i don't think they pulled the other one out of the wreckage. However he changed ahsokas original crystals. she used green ones. i like to belive that the inquistor just took the crystals out of a random collection of lightsabers from the tempel purge
It’s so cool to see how canon evolves over time. It was always known that she got her crystals from the 6th brother, but now two years later with canon media explaining how it actually went down is just so awesome to see as a fan.
The "bleeding" of lightsaber crystals & only kyber crystals can be used in lightsabers is the stupidest things along with "helicopter lightsabers", Disney did to SW. Ashoka is an awesome character, & I would love to see more of her, but only in Legends/EU material. #LegendsDidItBetter
I felt that type of depth as well in the way he held the light saber and that whole moment. There was so much weight to it. I can hear Luke talking about feeling the conflict in him. At that point in time Anakin was not as far away. The wounds were still fresh.
I have a question what if Vader made ashoka a sith or inquisitor would she be powerful or would she go along as a spy just for the rebels if she never went in to hiding ?
She would be extremely strong but her being the embodiment of the light side of the force she can't fall towards the dark side or die otherwise the imbalance would destroy everything. If they even keep that cannon anymore at this point. And I'm referring to when she died and was brought back to life by the sister's life essence back in the Clone wars show.
I’m gonna assume you know this, but I’m also gonna say it for clarification, he continues to serve with the 501st in the empire. Ahsoka was serving as an unofficial commander with only a portion of the 501st when that ship went down. The other portion was still with the rest of the Republic forces at the time of order 66.
2:38 This, above all, seriously defines Ahsoka now and how strong her connection to the Force actually is. Her preferred lightsaber colours were actually green and gold, but to turn a lightsaber to pure white requires a special connection to the Force... and Ahsoka gained that, when the Daughter of Mortis transferred her life essence into Ahsoka. 5:26 Anakin/Vader wasn't fooled by the lightsaber left behind. He knows that Ahsoka's fighting style requires two lightsabers, and since her body was never found, this is a deception, of some sort.
I know that this did not happen in canon, but wouldn’t it be cool if Vader bled Ahsoka’s lightsaber crystal for his own weapon? Considering how much he hates the past, he would symbolically destroy it, along with remains of Anakin Skywalker.
I've always questioned that scene where Vader finds Ahsoka's lightsaber. Was it Vader who picked up her lightsaber or was it Anakin? I always believed it was Anakin... his brief glimmer of Light wondering if his apprentice survived.
The owl had belong to The Sister before. Before The Sister die ,she gave her live force to Asoka preventing her death. This is why The Owl follow Asoka.
Those Bleeding crystals were never the 6th brothers'..she literally ripped them out his "chopper sabre" and it blew up for good measure. Im glad you made this video.
Do you think Ahsoka could have turned Vader if she somehow ended up on Mustafar? I think because Ahsoka was no longer a Jedi, Vader would have listened to Ahsoka calling for him to come back to the light and may have also left the Jedi order
Saw a comment in a previous video about Vader’s eyes behind his mask in the clone wars finale, some one commented never to make a thumbnail like that again. I noticed you made the thumbnail like it again, hopefully that guy likes it 😂
I think somewhere deep inside, anakin had hope she was still alive but knew he would have to let go of her in that moment and give in to Vader so that Ashoka would be safe from him. I feel like that was the painful goodbye in that moment.
Just a tiny correction! The video mentions "the morai" as if it was the species, but Morai is the name of the convor (owl-like creature that follows Ahsoka around).
in previous episodes of the Star Wars seasons: the Clone Wars, through Anakin’s daughter’s energy was transferred to Ahsoka to bring her back to life ...
I wonder if it's possible that the Inquisitor's crystals called her because those was the original crystals from her original swords. From somewhere Inquisitors have their crystals to make them bleed, since they are not true sith lords those crystals could be given instead of won.
Cody But he asked how they got off the planet, I was wondering if they watched it because if they did surely they would know they had gotten off with another ship they found! I wasn’t being rude, I just didn’t want to spoil anything because they asked a question!

Revenge of the Sith would have been AMAZING (and felt more tragic) if they had included the opening narrative from the novel.
Are you talking about the one from 2017 titled "AHSOKA" by E.K. Johnston?
I have it in my Amazon cart but I just want to be sure first. LOL
@@jasonkugel4987 I have both of those novels and they are amazing!@
That whole last episode had me choking up. But what I find the most interesting about what you were saying is, that if you go back to the arc with the father daughter and brother. Asoka dies, or is about to die, and the daughters last action is to bring Asoka back. So I've always wondered if she passed her power to her, or if she did something to help her balance the force. To my knowledge they've never really explained why the bird follows her. Always though that was interesting.
Whatever it was that went into Ahsoka from the daughter, first went through Anakin though. Maybe a bit of his power got pulled into Ahsoka in that moment?
Just a thought
The owl is definitely The Daughter. Very similar colors as well, she literally has the light side with her.
She became the embodiment of the light side of the force when she was brought back to life and the bird isn't the sister it's just there and it follows her for that specific reason, her being the personification of the light side of the force.
Seeing Ashoka fight Vader in Rebels was something i was wanting to see in a while.
Ikr. Same
I feel during the finale as if Vader had been sad to see what he thought was the final resting place of his once Padawan and that in his mind he was saying “I’m so sorry snips” and perhaps he visited this place often because he still cared and missed Ashoka
Jake Joins it was more of him saying goodbye to her. I don’t see him going back there often for any reason.
Knowing Vader, I think he's more sad HE couldnt kill her. Anakin was loooong gone at this point, and Vader wanted to destroy ANY links to his past.
@@r3gret2079 I personally feel like when Vader was holding the lightsaber and ignited it, that was Anakin, not Vader. Anakin was never really "long gone" as seen in ROTJ and even that scene in the Ahsoka vs Vader fight.
@@FrozenJedi38 in that Ahsoka fight, that wasnt Anakin. Dave Filoni himself confirmed that. She didnt have the power to bring Anakin out. N your right he wasnt gone for good, but he WAS gone untill ROTJ.

I have it in my Amazon cart but I just want to be sure first. LOL
@@sixthview Yeah that’s the one, it also has an audiobook version which is pure brilliance because it’s voiced by Ahsoka’s voice actress and it makes it 10x better but the book alone I’m sure is great too.
@@Tom-xt1jn Oooohhhh! That sounds like pure bliss. I already bought the book but have Ahsoka read it to me would be so much better. Thanks for the info!
@@ancapftw9113 oh yeah, love all the novel crystals in KOTOR
Is there any content on how Ashoka felt from anakins death as she was alive then and should have felt him through the force again as he had turned back to the light, and did she get any visits from his ghost, that conversation would be interesting, lmk if it’s in comic or book somewhere please
Probably in the mandalorian season 2 where she will be in so maybe I’m hoping anakin would be there too
dezzi ryan Anakin (Vader) is already dead by the time of the Mandalorian show, so unless Anakin appears in a flashback I doubt he’ll be in the series

@@justifiedgameenforcer4173 that is false they started using storm trooper armour not long after the war ended maybe even months after
Well considering the fact that when she dropped it there was no snow
So it being buried in ice or snow could happen late in that planets winter cycle
But as you said it could only be a few months or so after the crash
But why did Vader go to the planet in the first place?
Disney you need to do a spin off Star Wars movie with Ashoka as a central character.
Do u really think they can pull that off without crippling azsoka plotwise or characterise ?
THANK YOU!! Vader knew Ashoka was alive when Anakin looks up and sees Morai.
Lol Vader’s eyes in the thumbnail
we only see her leave one in clone wars season 7, she knows everything she needs to make new light sabers.
I think it's sweet that she helped those kyber crystals....
If anyone's wondering what he means with "these crystals suffered" is that Kyber crystals are alive, they're not just rocks they have minds and emotions of their own.
Correction, Ahsoka healed the bleeding lightsabors, turning them white.
People should read the 1st Star Wars book: Splinter of the Minds Eye-it has things about the Kyber Crystals that is now known in the Expanded Galaxy.
When Ahsoka showed up in Rebels, I almost cried.
I’m confused.. years ago? Why every other RUclipsr says 6 months after the clone wars, that scene takes place.
The tradegy of Anakin's life is so heartbreaking
everyone mentions the inquisitors crystals were ahsokas that vader found, but he only found one saber and i don't think they pulled the other one out of the wreckage. However he changed ahsokas original crystals. she used green ones. i like to belive that the inquistor just took the crystals out of a random collection of lightsabers from the tempel purge
The inquisitors lightsabers are my fav, but Ahsoka's are a close second. The white blades are my fav color also.
what happen to rex after order 66 and how did Gregor and wolf met him?
She truly is anakin's apprentice. As Vader did the same thing making the crystals

Everyone:
Star Wars Comic: "Kybo Crystals!"
Incredible story telling!!
Loved the Ahsoka story she is one of my favorites.
This is Outrageous!

I truly hope we see flash backs to her getting these crystals, purifying, and building her sabers in the ahsoka series on D+.
I've always questioned that scene where Vader finds Ahsoka's lightsaber. Was it Vader who picked up her lightsaber or was it Anakin? I always believed it was Anakin... his brief glimmer of Light wondering if his apprentice survived.

Ahsoka 521 she’s one of the goats in Star Wars to me
Darth Vader probably figured out she survived when they dueled on Malachor in "Twilight of the Apprentice".
Ahsoka and the Morai are connected because the Daughter saved Ahsoka and brought her back to life by sacrificing herself
The owl had belong to The Sister before.
Before The Sister die ,she gave her live force to Asoka preventing her death.
This is why The Owl follow Asoka.

Do you think Ahsoka could have turned Vader if she somehow ended up on Mustafar? I think because Ahsoka was no longer a Jedi, Vader would have listened to Ahsoka calling for him to come back to the light and may have also left the Jedi order

Just a tiny correction! The video mentions "the morai" as if it was the species, but Morai is the name of the convor (owl-like creature that follows Ahsoka around).
