Nice one, thankyou. Just collected my new Jimny LCV today. I am a short arse at 5'7" and find the seating position fine, but was considering removing the guard/bulkhead to create more space to carry larger objects with the passenger seat folded flat.

Great video. I understand the reason for the bulkhead is that it creates the minimum, Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) UK/European requirement of a 900mm load area from front to rear, with unfortunately a maximum seat incline of 15 degrees with bulkhead fitted and less travel of the seating position.

I'm 5'10" and there's no way I could be comfortable with the mesh and bulkhead in place. The dealer is going to take them out for me. Ironically, this is £1,500 worth if you buy the mesh and bulkhead separately.

Good one, thx. I removed mine entirely but going to be removing just the grill for a friend tmw. So the spacer heads up was perfect for not showing up empty handed. 🙏🏽

Really good video Martin, thanks. One question please. Did you reuse the original M6 bolts (+ the M8 nut as a spacer) to fasten the bottom part of the bulkhead back in to its new position, or are they not long enough with the spacer in?

I used longer bolts. I think they were 35mm but you would have to select based on what clearance you wanted

Ripe for an after market modified bulkhead Id say.
As an ex Jimny owner from 20 years back, I pondered if the bulkhead would cause problems - Im a similar height though. To be honest we rarely carried passengers and toyed with taking the back seats out back then.
I eagerly await the new small Landcruiser and/or the European spec 5 dr Jimny (althiugh Suzuki's new pricing strategy may warm Klaus Schwab's heart its upset a lot of traditional Suzuki buyers🤔). My next may be a 4grip SX4 SCross if thats the case (s/h low miles🤞)🤔

I have a commercial Jimny and I would love to put heated seats in it, I am quite happy to put the elements in the seat itself and the switches are no problem to source from Suzuki but its the wiring I am curious about... is there a "sub-loom" or am I into making my own harness.
If i had a car version id just have a look but I only have the commercial and Suzuki cant really tell me !
Love your videos by the way, they were handy when i was buying mine.

Hi Martin. Is it possible to position the grill panel further back in the vehicle - towards the tailgate? I note there are plastic covers that look like they may be concealing additional bolt holes?? Thanks.

It would be possible with some manufacturing of brackets but in it's standard form the grill and base share a mount but the base can only fit in one position on the floor

Hi 👋🏻 You can absolutely mount the mesh part one notch down and get rid of the bulkhead part. It does fit perfectly on those blanked out screw holes (top and bottom). I’ve just done it on my LCV.

@@arnodijon yes but that is by getting rid of the lower bulkhead bit. To retain the bulkhead as well requires more work
