I feel like this is the backstory to Alpharad eventually becoming a villain in the smash community. Personally, I’d love to see him put together a casual rule set tournament and curb stomp top players. Because as we all know, Alpha is the best items player out there.

The circumstances are too perfect not to comment it: I do think Jacob’s biggest weakness in this game is his cockiness. I feel like that’s what keeps him being a relatively average competitive/items player, every time he does alright he acts like he’s invincible. He’s like the real life Pit: mid tier with an Icarus complex.
I think he is self aware of it and does it for content, but his problem is that he doesn’t know when to start playing well again and actually try to win. He doesn’t actively throw 98% time but this is definitely a half step to that
