i can see Sakurai watching this and smiling, seeing how his idea of a chaotic, fun party game came true via Alpharad
And that smile being slightly pained when he thinks about hard/soft DK
At this point Alpharad is just Sakurai's chosen warrior since he's the only one that can make this kind of event happen

Next time Jacob is invited to Smash Summit, he should host a tournament where professional players play 8-player time with items set to high and stage transition on.

I am unironically so envious and so proud of Alpharad. To be able to make your own casual content and have proplayers play it at major tournaments; that must honestly be a dream come true. Casual Smashers would kill to be so fortunate.

So happy to see Alpha bringing more casual play into the mainstream so it isn't as frowning upon in the community

At worst, the love/hate for casual play in the Smash community is a 50/50 split. The majority of people, even competitive players, do not hate casual play. If anything, competitive players are more hated for “taking a kid game too seriously “.

@@diamondminer5459 It's probably not hate but moreso of an unsaid stigma that "you're playing the game wrong" if you're playing with any sort of casual ruleset. It's not anything anyone outright says but a lot of people (mainly diehard competitive players) will give you funny looks that kinda enforce that stigma.
Marss and Zelda was simply a match made in hell, and I enjoyed every second of it

While introducing the Amiibo, Im surprised nobodys talking about how Alpharads just getting his ass kicked in the background by a 13 dollar toy.

Whenever Alpharad is given power over others he uses it to make something truly special
This is refreshing to see. On the one hand I get it. We want a fair competitive environment with no camping and keep away tactics ect. But it also gets annoying to see some yourubers and streamers treat casual play so poorly to even go as far as pretending to puke when they come across a casual rule set online. Definitely something I could watch more of.

Out of all of the gimmicks the amiibo have, I think my favorite is when Jacob makes his own separate tournament to have pro players fight against $13 toys.

When he pulled out that donkey Kong amino at the end I thought he was gonna team up with hard dk and fight the winners. Never have I been so disappointed in my own expectations.
I am convinced they cannot see game 5 and are just shouting “OH NO” “OH MY GOD” UH OH” and talk about the game every once in a while
Zelda getting FS Meter right as the final hit made contact was a pretty epic way of finishing the tournament.
