- If USC rushes the ball for 2000 yards as a team in 2024, they'll accomplish two things. No. 1., Lincoln Riley's offense will win the time of possession battle, which leads to No. 2, which will help his defense stay off the field. I explain why Coach Riley needs to be more disciplined with his play-calling and why that translates to the defense.

For those who remember Percy Harvin at Florida, I think the way Urban Meyer used Harvin is a great blueprint for USC to use with Z. Branch.
Totally agree with you Marc. Coach Riley needs to keep these opposing defenses honest. Kobe never went to his fade away jump shot every shot. He kept every one on their heels. Run the ball coach!!

Never understood giving Zachariah the ball put the backfield unless it was a jet sweep. SC had a stable of runningbacks! Definitely get him the ball in space.
In this new ers of offense, it would be really hard for him to win Heisman because he's not the featured WR, they spread the ball too much. I do think he'll have 4 tds on special teams
Listening to your show I wonder why they hired Riley when they had fan duel Marc right there. Branch got to gèt rid of his alligator arms on passes over middle.
In the Big ten the LB are meant to play in the BOX and to have to cover a RB is something they are not use to.... there is going to be Mix matches in each game

Z. Branch is an amazing player, but in this era, absent leading the team to the championship, it would be nearly impossible for a non QB or RB to win the Heisman…imho…I would love to see him do it! So when the lights come on…he’s lights out 😂.
With 2,000 yds, which I don't believe, we would only need a top 40 D and prolly go 10-2, but prolly get edged out of the CFP only because too many other B1G teams would be taken. It's gonna take a few more years heavy lifting to be competitive to win the B1G and they will diss the shit out of us in the mean time - so it's gonna be a grind and not a really fun one till we get there. But we are approaching a precipice where CLR is going to sink or swim in another year or two, and our B1G opponents would love to be the agent of his failure. Whether my team does well or struggles a bit, the new opponents and venues after decades of sameness is going to make this a great season. I was so sick of the Big 12 as were most Sooner fans. Damn, Fox had us leading off the day at 11 for years. OU asked the Big 12 for assistance in spreading it around and were basically told to shut up and dribble after carrying the leagues water for years. Good riddance to them. I'm curious as to how SC fans feel about changing leagues. So can I get a couple of replies here?

I’m a USC fan and I share your feelings. Even if it’s a good game, many of our games were played so late at night it was not fun. And not playing Washington State and Arizona is just fine with me. I’m looking forward to seeing the B1G schools more than once a year.
Branch is the closest I have seen to DeAnthony Thomas. If they are smart and use him the same way, then the USC offense might start being attractive to kids in California. There is no excuse for USC to not have two receivers with 1,000 yards. If Tez Johnson can do it at Oregon, Branch should be doing that at USC. Branch is twice the player Tez is. USC should have Branch and Lane or Hutson with 1,000 yards this year. If your offense is all that, how is that not possible?
