Especially recently, but after Swann and Stallworth, there was something of a drought until Hines, except for Lipps, so I can see not being the top. The biggest thing against Pittsburgh is that their first 35-40 years were bad, even though the last 50 have been great.
@@BrendanGeormerYep. Aside from one team that played a playoff tiebreaker in 1947, and another 9-5 team in 1962, the Steelers were pretty terrible for their first 38 years. But because it was almost all pre-Super Bowl it’s mostly forgotten about. Much like how well the early Browns and Bears teams were, and the championship teams of the Cardinals, Lions, Chargers, Bills, and Titans as the Oilers pre-Super Bowl.
@@BrendanGeormer I think Lynn Swann is overrated. Was he better than his contemporaries like Stallworth, Harold Carmichael, Harold Jackson or Cliff Branch? I believe that Swann only made the Hall because of his 4 rings. Swann has a bust in Canton, but LC Greenwood doesn't? That's BS.
I think if they let in branch, then he should get another look. Just have to be careful how many with only 500 receptions you let in. It was good in the 70s, but it changed by the 90s
I remember that OT TD catch by Webster Slaughter. It was my 15th birthday. We were watching from my grandparents' house. Right after the Browns won, we went bowling for my birthday. What a great day! 😎
Dam back to back 1,000 yard seasons and not even a mention for Devonta smith too don’t forget about him .. franchise record in receptions and receiving yards is hall of very good??? What’s hall of fame?!?
Texans being as high as they are after only being around for 20 years is pretty nice. Their top 2 puts in a lot of work. Hopefully someone on our current roster like Nico Collins can reach that peak, too
For the Packers, I’m actually very surprised that James Jones wasn’t mentioned among the receivers from the Rodgers era. Sure Donald Driver & Jordy Nelson are on there, but James Jones was himself a very good player on that team, and he in a way helped save the 2015 season after Jordy went down with that ACL tear in the preseason.
The bengals are certainly at minimum top 10. They went ocho, aj, and jamarr 3 rebuilds ina row. You add the secondary wrs they had in tj housh, tyler boyd, and tee higgins they have always had a top core in the league. Cmon nfl
I have the bengals at 10 behind raiders and so forth. The last 30 years their wr cores have been way better then the chargers browns dolphins n washington.
As a Rams fan i honestly thought the 49ers would be #1 but that we'd be ahead of the Vikings. Yes the Vikings had Carter, Moss, & Reed when we had Bruce, Holt, Hakim, & Proehl (& Tony Horne on special teams but still a WR). I thought the GSOT was deeper plus we beat those Vikings teams 3 times between 1999-2003 putting up 40+ points every time & once was a playoff game (& then again in 2006). I'll give the Vikings the nod for stats but we had a ring & made another Super Bowl
Nah, the Vikings were DEEP with great receivers, going all the way back to Ahmad Rashad. They have three HOFers for sure - Moss, Carter, and Jefferson is almost certainly going to be there. Then you can add Anthony Carter, Percy Harvin, Stefon Diggs, Jake Reed, as other very good players.
I am seriously impressed with this list. Every time a team was mentioned and 4-5 guys popped in my head they all got mentioned, then i got a history lesson for most teams. I also wondered how youd manage guys like brandon marshall or TO that had multiple great seasons with multiple teams and they got mentioned for both. I genuinely only thought of one or two omissions total but even those are iffy. Well done, fantastic video
GREAT vid. So many fans under 30 (hell under 35) think that no great WRs existed before or during Rice's time in the NFL. SO MANY all time great WRs are forgotten/overlooked. I personally think the Rams should be #1, their history if GREAT WRs is so deep
Texans at #21 feels Criminal, we've only had 5 seasons where a WR hasn't reached 1,000 yards in Texans history, and we also have the most 1,500+ Individual receiving yard seasons by a TEAM despite being 22 years old. Although I do get Teams have more storied histories than ours.
Bengals at 14 is crazy . Pickens ( who a whole role was made to slow down ) , Collins worth, ochocinco, TJ, warrick, Henry Owens , coles , green, lafell , sanu, Jones, Boyd, Higgins , chase. To name a few
Lions not being in the top 10 is criminal lol. I'd agree with the ranking you gave them had Megatron never been born. But since he was, and since he is arguably the greatest pure talent to ever catch a football... I'd say top 10 is a must.
Calvin is the first wide receiver I've heard to have "catching hands like Spiderman" when coming out of college and then transitioning seamlessly to the NFL level to prove that comparison was correct. He was a cheat code and changed the entire outlook on the game, just like Jim Brown did as an RB. 🤷
Cris Carter and Randy Moss were the duo who love being pass-catchers during their time with the Vikings. Mark Clayton and Mark Duper were also a great duo with the Dolphins. Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens were the best wideouts in 49ers history. Julian Edelman, Deion Branch and Wes Welker were Tom Brady’s favorite targets during their time with the Patriots. Michael Thomas, Joe Horn and Marques Colston were the best wideouts in Saints history. Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey also were the best duo in Broncos history. Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne were definitely the greatest duo in Colts history by being Peyton Manning’s favorite targets. Lynn Swann and John Stallworth were that duo for the Steelers during their time when the team was a dynasty. There are too many to name…🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
Sterling Sharpe was so good Shannon was mainly known as "Sterling's brother". He absolutely would've been a HOF'er had his career not been ripped away.
Should have mentioned that Lionel Taylor of the Broncos was the first WR with 100 catches in a season. Could have given a shout out to Bob Chandler for the Bills.
How are Bengals not AT LEAST top 10? They have had consistently elite WRs going back to the 70s. Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, AJ Green, Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, Carl Pickens, Cris Collinsworth, Isaac Curtis. And these are just the best of the best. I didn't even mention guys like Tyler Boyd, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and Mohammed Sanu. You seriously mean to tell me that there are 13 teams that can do better than that? I don't think so.
@@XxJERICHOHOLICxX13 He produced 6.17% of his career receiving yards and 5.88% of his career receiving TDs in Cinci. The Bengals don't get credit for the other 94% of his career 😂
@@smudgeous4068 congrats, you can use a calculator. No one team can take credit for his whole career. The video is rating teams by their WR history and Owens is part of the Bengals. Do you expect me to leave him out? And what even is your point? Okay, take out Owens, bengals are still top 10 at minimum.
@@XxJERICHOHOLICxX13 I would expect the argument to be made for production made by WRs when playing for the team, which TO did not contribute anywhere near as much as the other guys I mentioned. TO had a good season in 2010 for a 37-year-old but he wasn't close to the same player that earned a HoF nod. A single season's performance is almost impossible to crack the list as well, unless it came with a record breaking season or an iconic catch to win a Super Bowl.
So are we just forgetting Jaylen Waddle, who before Puca set the record for rookie receptions, has started his career with 3 1000yd seasons (two of which while playing second-fiddle to a ball vacuum in Tyreek Hill), and generally been consistently excellent regardless of who's been QB or lined up on the other side of the formation? Dude has had a better career in Miami than OG (though I loved OG), and arguably better than DvP as well. I don't think that puts them above the Commanders and in the top 10, but even them staying in the same place just leaving him out is atrocious. He's an integral part of that great '21 draft WR class (Chase, Waddle, Smith, Collins, St. Brown).
This list is so fun! So not to hate, just my take! Or maybe I should just say I’m curious how they came up with the rules for ranking! Because it seems weird to me having teams like the Jets above a team like the Titans. Tennessee had SIX players with at least 6,000 career yards. That’s more than almost every other team I checked up to the Jets spot. That’s even more than the pats, although the Pats did have more 5k. Idk I was just checking myself at first saying “well you were just too young to know most of the top Jets guys probably “ but the same is true about almost all the best titans guys too, for me at least, but they definitely seem to top the Jets guys. But I suppose it isn’t just about all time yardage and TD leaders, it’s also maybe about having guys like Marshall and Johnson having a couple of 1k seasons with the team, etc. I guess when it comes to modern era thar I’ve witnessed, the titans reallt don’t have much other than AJ, and Mason, and a few others. Idk I just love debating this whole list! It’s great!
Makes sense to me, very accurate & fair, imo. Great job on all that editing. What's crazy is w/ all that wr. talent, Vikes have 0 Super Bowl Wins. But this is the yr:/
It’s actually insane how the ravens have been around for like 28 years been so awesome during that stretch but haven’t really had a wideout that’s elite goes to show you how good they are at drafting every other position they’re my favorite AFC team
Don Hutson, James Lofton, Sterling Sharpe, Antonio Freeman, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, and Randall Cobb. How Green Bay isn't #1 is crazy😂

Darnell Mooney would be the greatest receiver in ravens history
Yeah as a Titans fan I feel that. I was really surprised we were 26th and not bottom 2 😂
Y'all have had the occasional standout WR, Ravens can't get shit going at that position at all. I say this as a Ravens fan. Please Zay Flowers, prove me wrong lol
Ted ginn definitely should’ve got a mention for the panthers . His impact for Cam was huge.
He was really great at dropping passes and falling down as soon as he did catch one.
@@bjchit that’s true but tell me he wasn’t #1 WR for the last Super Bowl team
@@javon21596 That just tells me Carolina was horribly depleted at wide receiver.
@@bjchit lol either you’re a dolphins fan or you just didn’t see ginn game in and out
@@javon21596 I am a Dolphins fan, and I saw a lot of Panthers games during his time there. Outside of a three game burst late in the season, he was mid the whole year. And as soon as Kelvin Benjamin was healthy, he was back to being a third stringer.
As a Rams fan, it surprises me that we're at 2 but at the same time, it doesn't. We've always had good/great receivers and running backs
I honestly thought we'd be ahead of the Vikings. Yes the Vikings had Carter, Moss, & Reed when we had Bruce, Holt, Hakim, & Proehl. But I thought the GSOT was deeper plus we beat those Vikings teams 3 times between 1999-2003 putting up 40 points every time & once was a playoff game. I'll give the Vikings the nod for stats but we had a ring & made another Super Bowl
@@EricStuder89the GSOT have the ring, but the Vikings potentially will have 3 receivers that can be ranked in the top 10 all time in Moss, Cris Carter, and Justin Jefferson.
we were in the top 5 in the QB, WR and RB videos. sadly I don’t think we’ll even be in the top 25 when they make the TE video😂
Man, as an Eagles fan, as much as I knew how good these guys were, I'm still a little surprised we ranked so high. That said, where the hell were all these great WRs when Donovan was playing!?
We better do this but with every position
Wash fan: We made top 10?!? No complaints, but be ready to adjust some numbers for us now that J.D.5 is in the house baby!!! Great video, saving this! #RaiseHail #HTTBR #HTTR #HTTWFT #HTTC!!!
Steelers have a history of drafting elite WRs 👀
You know the media hates showing the Steelers respect.......Steelers Nation
@@BrendanGeormerYancy Thigpen was solid
@@BrendanGeormer I think Lynn Swann is overrated. Was he better than his contemporaries like Stallworth, Harold Carmichael, Harold Jackson or Cliff Branch? I believe that Swann only made the Hall because of his 4 rings. Swann has a bust in Canton, but LC Greenwood doesn't? That's BS.
Very nicely done. Thorough and detailed.
sterling sharp was so underrated and should be in the Hall of Fame. It’s not even funny.
I think if they let in branch, then he should get another look. Just have to be careful how many with only 500 receptions you let in. It was good in the 70s, but it changed by the 90s
@@danday9697 yeah but the dominance he had before he got injured was crazy
After the QB and RB videos, I was wondering when the WR video would arrive. Thanks for all your hard work.
Rams got hella WRS
I remember that OT TD catch by Webster Slaughter. It was my 15th birthday. We were watching from my grandparents' house. Right after the Browns won, we went bowling for my birthday. What a great day! 😎
As a Carolina fan I expected it. All this does is once again show that Steve Smith should be in the HOF

Much respect for not forgetting John Gilliam and G Washington. Great video!
pretty good list
This Video is put together very nicely, thank you!!!
Dam back to back 1,000 yard seasons and not even a mention for Devonta smith too don’t forget about him .. franchise record in receptions and receiving yards is hall of very good??? What’s hall of fame?!?
Rams gotta go back to those “Greatest Show on Turf” uniforms
Yeah those were great
Didn't they have the sparkled gold horns? I don't know why they didn't keep those. They were way better than the plain old yellow.
Not to mention their logo sucks now, I liked the old one better and yeah I do like the old uniforms better.
Texans being as high as they are after only being around for 20 years is pretty nice. Their top 2 puts in a lot of work. Hopefully someone on our current roster like Nico Collins can reach that peak, too
GOOOO RAAAAMS 🐏
@@McLoving425
Last 30 years, number of 1000/1500 yard receiving seasons:
Bengals: 27/0
Chargers: 17/0
Browns: 11/1
Dolphins: 16/2
Washington: 18/0
@@smudgeous4068 yup. Nfl is holding post season success against them. Cause its clear they have been better then the latter 5 teams
Very interesting list, especially having the Vikings at #1. Jake Reed was also very tough with Minnesota in the 1990s.
Good second receiver in the mid 90’s and third receiver in 98
Too many great receivers to name for the Vikings tbh
I crave these videos more than watching actual games sometimes (depending on the game 😂). I know I'm not alone right?!?
My Cardinals gonna shoot up this list now that we got Marv
I am seriously impressed with this list. Every time a team was mentioned and 4-5 guys popped in my head they all got mentioned, then i got a history lesson for most teams. I also wondered how youd manage guys like brandon marshall or TO that had multiple great seasons with multiple teams and they got mentioned for both. I genuinely only thought of one or two omissions total but even those are iffy. Well done, fantastic video
For every team you were able to think of every top wide out in franchise history? Man shut the fuck up, you sound like a kid lying at the lunch table.
Texans being at 21 is a little surprising to me, but I'm here for it 💪🏾🤘🏾 hoping our current WR room kills it this year.
Awesome video, it would've been super fun to do the research on this one.
Panthers at 29 is crazy especially with Bears over them at 28
GREAT vid. So many fans under 30 (hell under 35) think that no great WRs existed before or during Rice's time in the NFL. SO MANY all time great WRs are forgotten/overlooked. I personally think the Rams should be #1, their history if GREAT WRs is so deep
I was supposed to be the Wide Receiver for Cowboys! 😊. I gotta get ready. In case, Dak returns. lol.
Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt were one of the best duos of the 2000s.
Let’s go Rams
90 minutes of slow mo wide receiver close ups is my favorite kind of content
34:36 why is that man back peddling all the way to the Endzone 😂😂😂😂
Bro what 😂😂😂
Finally, a Brandon Marshall compilation video
He was a beast
Texans at #21 feels Criminal, we've only had 5 seasons where a WR hasn't reached 1,000 yards in Texans history, and we also have the most 1,500+ Individual receiving yard seasons by a TEAM despite being 22 years old. Although I do get Teams have more storied histories than ours.
because most other teams just have significantly better receivers throughout their history. Texans just have Andre and DHop
@@sosajc15 Yeah I know it just feel wrong because of our short history.
Good work. Can you do RB’s next?
Can we get a video on the worst first round draft picks for each franchise. Maybe since 2000 or something
Bengals at 14 is crazy . Pickens ( who a whole role was made to slow down ) , Collins worth, ochocinco, TJ, warrick, Henry Owens , coles , green, lafell , sanu, Jones, Boyd, Higgins , chase. To name a few
=13
They should be ranked way better at least top 8
Lions not being in the top 10 is criminal lol. I'd agree with the ranking you gave them had Megatron never been born. But since he was, and since he is arguably the greatest pure talent to ever catch a football... I'd say top 10 is a must.
@@colinryan4737 I wish there was a laugh reaction

Calvin is the first wide receiver I've heard to have "catching hands like Spiderman" when coming out of college and then transitioning seamlessly to the NFL level to prove that comparison was correct.
He was a cheat code and changed the entire outlook on the game, just like Jim Brown did as an RB. 🤷
Thanks for mentioning Orande
Keenan McCardell is the best position coach in the NFL
This video was so satisfying
RIP Jacoby Jones
Chiefs don’t have rich history with WRs but have 2 of the top 3 TEs of all time
Sharpe and Gronk never played for the Chiefs, they do got a top 3 and a top 10 guy though
It’s goes
Gronk
Kelce then..
Tony Gonzalez, who is undoubtedly better than Shannon Sharpe.
Wcf. A very good video very informative!

always a good day when NFL throwback posts
R.I.P to V.Jackson. though hes more known to Chargers fans he was one of the very few players that made Tampas offense exciting to watch at the time.
Put Hines Ward in the HOF.
My thoughts exactly

Sterling Sharpe was so good Shannon was mainly known as "Sterling's brother". He absolutely would've been a HOF'er had his career not been ripped away.
Seattle had good wr talent

37-year-old TO with his single
@@smudgeous4068 he’s still a hof reciever that played for the bengals.
If your team was mentioned before the browns, just bump up ur rating by 1
Yeah one year of cooper and josh Gordon is insane
Brown).
Puka beat his rookie receptions record by 1, but took 1 extra game and 20 extra targets to do so
would love to see a defense version of this.. with all positions. it'd be interesting to see where youd rank who where.
As a rams fan im just happy we are above the winers 😂 even tho we have less rings but all good
At least you have rings… SKOL TO THE BOWL 😈😈😈
It’s great!
Under 1 hour gang 👇
Makes sense to me, very accurate & fair, imo. Great job on all that editing. What's crazy is w/ all that wr. talent, Vikes have 0 Super Bowl Wins. But this is the yr:/

Don Hutson, James Lofton, Sterling Sharpe, Antonio Freeman, Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, and Randall Cobb. How Green Bay isn't #1 is crazy😂
As a Steelers fan I agree, I would have Green Bay first.
None of those guys are better than chris carter or randy moss though. I think thats what puts them over
The only one that's worth mentioning is Hutson. He basically single handedly changed all dynamics of the WR position.
