@@randallporter6841 like I said this is my hometown that "left turn only" isn't a left turn only. Both streets are two way. That left turn leads to a community center park and the public pool.
I lived in that neighborhood for about 6 months. It is much worse than you see in this video. Many homes in disrepair. Owners (landlords) who don't care.
Not all that bad. In 1965, on the way back home to the mountains from our first vacation trip to the outer banks, our family stayed at a “rooming house” in Wilmington. They would call them “Bed and Breakfasts” today. The place was run by an elderly black lady who could cook the finest breakfast I’ve ever had, before or since. I can still remember waking up and smelling the bacon and biscuits. Great memory of Wilmington.
Lmao no don't i used to live in. Was raised right outside of Wilmington my entire life that's the worst advice anyone can give you. Also you didn't try princess place drive Montgomery Street Evans those are worse than anything you shown.
Nah, he couldn't get into Creekwood. I was taking a coworker home there & got stopped by the cops on the way in bc I didn't belong there. Funny thing is that I actually lived there when I was really little.
Creekwood, Houston Moore, Village at Greenfield, Westchester, Evans and all those other roads outside Creekwood. Yeah dude isn't from here and didn't do his research
Born and raised 34 years of my life finished high school and college educated and I come from these very same streets I am deeply offended by this but I continue to pray for guidance and understanding in the world 🤔

You are extremely naive sir. I used to live in the house on Castle St at 2:30 and everyone knew not to go out after dark unless you wanted to get robbed and/or shot. I made the mistake of doing that once and was robbed at gunpoint. I was also an addict back then (not anymore for 11 years) and there were gangs and drugs everywhere, you probably just didn't realize it. However, I do agree with you about good people there too but it was a mix of both.
Honestly looks like a really nice place, homes and streets are clean, people have nice cars. If that's the worst, then Wilmington seems like a nice place
@@melissairwin7616 I live in the bottom and aside from frequent shootings, I really love this neighborhood. It’s not random violence, it’s all isolated events and I’ve never felt threatened. All my neighbors are super friendly! I definitely wouldn’t consider this “the most dangerous” place in our town.
It’s actually not bad at all they are remodeling the whole area …. That is the most outdated and least funded area of Wilmington! It’s Not a bad part 😭 just a less cared about part of the city and fyi the all of the areas that you showed are not the bottom
This is not a true interpretation of families at their worst. These are hard working Americans trying to accomplish greatness which are some prosperous businesses and caring people. You may call it he bottom actually it is a "motto with love and determination rising to the TOP.
Love how the jump cuts in this cut out the ~nicer homes~ to fit this “worst part” narrative. This is where I spend most of my time in town. You passed my bf’s house, but cut it out (not that it’s anything special). Just because it’s a more affordable part of town doesn’t mean it’s bad. Rent is still outrageous for what it is. Most of the 2 and 3 bedrooms you passed would still cost you $1300-2000+ a month before utilities. I understand it’s not flashy here, but the sense of community is strong. People care about their neighbors and not in a superficial way. There are way more crime filled areas of town than The Bottom. Even as a woman, I’ve never really felt that unsafe walking around this area by myself, even after dark. Go to Creekwood bro. The Bottom doesn’t even compare.
I didn't see the worst parts, overall it looks pleasant place to me, I'm not sure about the crime rates but I read somewhere unsolved murders just like in any other state in USA. One of the unsolved murder ,in which cought my attention most is beverley jaye potter mintz, 1987. This was happened in village rd? Did you hear about this?
I don’t agree with this. I’ve lived in this neighborhood over 20 years never had a problem. If it is so bad why people are buying all the open property
Because Wilmington is a magnet city. So many people moving there. If you own property in Wilmington it's almost sure to increase in value. Doesn't even matter where it is.
Dude, I don't know who you are or where you're from, but this is the most pretentious and judgemental video I have ever seen. What areas trying to do here? Is it a travel video or do you just get off on judging working class folks and other folks struggling? Lot of people work hard and many folks face hard times. You need to find something else to do.
Ann Chatfield you need to butt out of this one, you have no clue. Princess St. used to be. Still has a convenience store we around here refer to as The Stab And Grab. You get into Wilmington and the street that takes you downtown the typical way is 3rd. You go to the left off of 3rd toward the waterfront and historical homes. As well as multiple businesses etc. But make a right anywhere between Nun and almost to Market. Then head towards 16th and all that and it is night and day different.
Two things: one, what is your process for determining a 'bad neighborhood' because you drove thorough a historic section, a shopping district, an industrial district, and a high end residential district. I've spent a ton of time in all the places you showed. It isn't dangerous. Two, there are a couple of significantly worse ones in ILM, both pretty close to where you stayed. Plus you did it on a Thursday during the day. So I'm not sure what the point of all this was? Are you are just shaming areas for not looking the way you expect, but you're scared to go to actual rough areas and it was the closest you could find to show your viewers? Or you just heard Wilmington was "scary" and drove though the first low income neighborhood you came to? If your videos actually have a point, and you're trying to highlight crime, then take the advice of some of the other commenters and drive around some of the neighborhoods they mentioned after dark.
If you wanna talk about wilmington learn the facts and true history of wilmington. FYI "THE BOTTOM" is no where near the worst part of wilmington you clearly didn't do your research
I’m from Wilmington. And that area has always been predominantly black. In recent years it has been gentrified. All through castle st. So what this video did was take you from a Caucasian area to where African Americans mainly reside. I’m genuinely offended. Then proceeded to call it the worst. Are you from here?, Do you know Wilmington’s history?. This place was once a Black MECCA ! And how fucking dare you.
@@itsKanishaxo and for those that don’t want to look it up here is a short summary: so in 1898 the town of Wilmington was a predominantly ‘progressive’ town. Majority of the council men were made up of wonderful critical thinking black men. However, there were some white supremacists mixed into the council, only a few, and they made a plan with a group of friends not in the council to overthrow the men who were black out of the council. They did this by killing them but also driving some out of town. One of them was a man who was very popular in town that own a newspaper company. Since he own a printing company he was able to get his ideas out easily and influence the community. The white supremacist saw him as a threat so they burn down the printing company and drove him out of town... hope this helps and if you can tell I’m a Wilmington townie 😊
I do agree. Went down there to live for about five years. Coming from the city thinking that I was going to have a good living, but it is over rated. They need to learn to support those schools down there and not just on the good side. Look up the history because it's always made to be like it is for the Caucasians and nothing more. For those who are comfortable with living down their hats off to you. But I advise anyone if you're not from there and it is not a great job to go into avoid this place. This place is a big lie and they don't tell the true meaning of the history. If I would have known more of the history that I begin to learn when I moved down there I would not have ever subjected my kids to such behavior and disrespect that was given down there. It was a learning experience for me and believe me I learned never to go in areas like this until they learn to mentally grow and respect what blacks have done down there instead of trying to take all the property that is theirs. But it won't never change because it begins at the top. So many things that I can say about this place not always bad but almost five years four of those years was miserable. And for me it wasn't the crime it was the hate. When it was time to transfer again in the job, I almost left my own shadow so ready to get the hell out of there. Wilmington must mentally grow and realize that it's not only one race that lives on this Earth. If you believe in your kids of color and want what is best for them STAY THE HELL AWAY. LEARN TO TREAT THE ONES FROM THERE RIGHT AND MAYBE WILMINGTON CAN BE ENJOYABLE FOR ALL. STAY AWAY. CRIME COMES WHEN OPPORTUNITIES ARE NOT GIVING AND CONSTANTLY BEING JUDGE. You should know to stay away whenever you come across the line into that town you feel a heavy Cloud over you. I continue to pray for my brothers and sisters down there.
I was born in Fayetteville, grew up there and the Bronx during the 70s and 80s. I now live in Miami, and trust me when I tell you I've seen waaaaay worse than Wilmington💯
I live in Wilmington and this isn’t the hood just a mixed community of black and white so not sure you know what hood is... lived in wilmington my entire life all 27 years
You guys must really be scared of walking down one of these streets. Let me tell you, I am a 43 year old single white woman that has walked down these streets alone, and these people in these areas are some of the best people you will ever meet! Spread love not hate
@@NickJohnson sounds like prejudice to me. The areas you showed were historic district, industrial district, and working class family homes who are still recovering from one of our worst hurricanes, Florence. For someone who doesn't live here you sure have a lot of opinions of what "hood" or "poverty stricken" looks like. I guess if it's not Suburbia then it must be the worst. Oh and btw someone commented above about the so called "drug deal" on the corner, that's a religious building and a Barbershop where people gather and those men knew each other. I’m a wilmingtonian. Born and raised 43 yrs. That part of town is near the downtown area. Go near the East Side of town ( creek wood). It’s sad they had to build a second satellite police station over there to keep the crime down
Nope not even. Its Castle Street, and its not even anything like it used to be in the 80s and 90s. And it wasn't even really bad then. This dude doesn't know anything about Wilmington, he should have talked to some locals/natives.
I moved to Wilmington from Brunswick County when I was 17 years old I was legally emancipated and I had a section 8 voucher. There is no waitlist back in 2007 or 2008. I lived in one of the worst neighborhoods off sixth Street in Wooster. I went to cape fear community college Rode my bike into the city bus all the way down about maybe two or 3 miles. It was a rough neighborhood back and they been cleaning up the neighborhood a lot over the past 10 years or so Wilmington has become a very desirable place to live. My parents still live in Oak Island in Southport. I eventually moved to Jacksonville North Carolina where the marine bases for the cheap cost of living with being a single parent after my divorce. I’ve been living up here for six years and I miss Wilmington. I bought my house right after hurricane Florence for $74,000 in Jacksonville. Unfortunately I don’t really like living here that much but I would love to move back to Wilmington. I have a really good paying job on the camp Lejeune at the federal level. Wilmington has changed so much but the cost-of-living has been rising year-by-year. A lot of the houses that you’re showing this video is still recovering from hurricane Florence unfortunately. After my divorce I moved to one of the worst neighborhoods in Wilmington two blocks away from Creekwood in an apartment complex called Willow Pond. It had concrete floors and I remember I moved out there and moved to Jacksonville after my divorce was done a gunshot and a stray bullet went through my sons window he was about two years old at that time I never came back I left and I’ve been in Jacksonville ever since.
Thx Nikki! It sure is not the worst. He wasn't nowhere near the bottom. "WE" can show him some spots but it's not that serious to me. He must needs to get his facts right first smh
100% on the Bottoms... didn't see Creekwood, Greenfield Street. Garden lake estates, Houston Moore, Jervay etc.... Castle St isnt the worst place in Wilmington its being Gentrifid
Clean, no garbage on the street, no homeless, no bars on all the low windows, no vacant houses, no abandon cars, no tall iron fences around yards, no recyclers going in the yards digging through people's trash. As looks go, not bad.
We lived on Church St between 3rd and 4th Streets for a year. I walked with my double stroller and dog in this area at least twice a day. This is not the worst part of Wilmington. I am sure there is crime in the area like any other downtown city, but I would have never continued to walk in dangerous parts of the city with my kids if I felt threatened. That's not to say Wilmington doesn't have its fair share of problems with crime, but this is a stretch.
That’s a fact..BUT... the gap in income inequality is very large in Wilmington. If you can look in the mirror and say that we are given the same opportunities and liberties you’re lying to yourself
@@trezaleguy8785 THIS. It’s clearly apparent in Wilmington that the income inequality is historically racial too. In Wilmington, schools like hoggard in nicer areas like wrightsville beach provide much better programs for their students. It bleeds into many areas of life. Not to mention the heroin problem. You can find a suboxone clinic within 5 mins of anywhere you might live around here.
There is no such thing as income inequality. There is, however, aspirational disparity whereby those whoa spire for a better life and live to right to achieve it get it and those who simply sponge off the state and blame everyone else fr their problems sink to the bottom.
@@stonecoldracing6 Some schools are better than others perhaps because the parents of the children give a damn and raise their kids to give a damn about school. And how is the heroin problem racial?
Hi, not sure what the goal was hit but you may have missed it! This was my hometown since I was 11 and the areas you shown from the start was old houses in the downtown district! Which everything downtown is about to be modernized including Castle Street. There’s a lot of building and construction thing going on in Wilmington which is causing a lot more people to visit the city. Then you aimed at castle street which and a few barbershops! Still not catching what you’re trying to point out. Thanks for the recap and tour, I was missing in home town anyway! Yes this was a great way for you to get some conversation followers job 👍🏽 well done
Hiiiiiiii you didn’t show any parts of the “bottom” the areas you did show was not considered the bottom which let me know you had to use a map OR just went off of what you may have “assumed” was the bottom! What you showed especially the area that you say is the absolute worst part is totally off track!(actually the good part of you will) Go into the heart of where all the worse crime is supposed to take place, which you didn’t do. You was on the perimeter of the bottom BUT you didn’t go through it. Btw all those poor looking houses can make it seem like it’s a bad area, you did ok documenting ! Buttttttt not good with your facts.
Where all the shops are on Castle Street are definitely safe to walk around during the day and at night. I think it's funny he claims there were drug deals, I did not see any visible proof of one. Just people walking and chatting. I would feel safe walking around that area during the day at least. At night is another story but anywhere abandoned at night is considered not the safest lol. Shit even my own nice neighborhood could be considered not safe at night. I've got alligators and other animals that roam near me.
I live in Wilmington, NC for the past 40 years. The bottom was awful in the 80s and 90s. Now it is FAR from the worst neighborhood in Wilmington. Come back and do some more research. The video goes down Castle Street, which was bad in the 80s and 90s, but is no longer considered bad. It’s mostly commercial and you didn’t show the right side of the street where there is a radio station, day care, and a beautiful black church, among other small businesses.
@American Pride Not just college traffic anymore. All these crappy town houses and apartments that are going up that are going to need major repairs &/or be condemned after our next big boy hurricane bringing in the retirees but no roads to filter them out on. Town keeps letting them build without the proper infrastructure or drainage so we turn into a fishbowl when it rains too much too quickly. I can't get anywhere within a resonable time anymore and for GOD'S SAKES newbies to wilmington, I'd prefer you go 5 mph over the speed limit tbh but is the limit too much to ask??? 35mph and you out here pushing 20. I GOTTA GET TO WORK while you're heading to you're brunch!
Lifetime North Carolina resident here. My hometown is about 30 miles from Wilmington. Overall Wilmington is a good place but I have noticed that some of those obnoxious, know it all Yankees from up north are starting to move here. I hope they don't ruin this place like they have ruined Charlotte and the Raleigh area. The worst North Carolina cities that I have seen are Durham and Kinston. I try to stay away from those two places.
I started watching your videos last Monday; you've done an amazing job. This area by the way looks better than some northeast locations you've showed us.
It's obvious you're not a local because you're not driving through the worst part of town at all, I'd feel perfectly safe walking through these areas and have. The worst part of town is Creekwood. Period. As a 16 year old young girl I was dropping off a co worker at 11pm after a closing shift and he wanted me to drop him off on the corner off 23rd. I refused and told him I was raised better and would take him to his door. When I was pulling out of the neighborhood I was pulled for being white and had my car searched because I didn't belong there...guess it didn't matter to the cops that sat a the church and saw me turn in that we were both in our Taco Bell uniform, I turned in with 2 people in the car and left with 1, me. They ripped the entire inside paneling out of my car doors and when my dad helped me put my car back together he told me to NEVER let a cop search my vehicle again without a warrant. That was 2004 and nothing has changed except both me and that coworker went and got degrees and he works in the hospital and I work in international logistics/supply chain. Also the peace sign was weird and if you were in one of our upper class neighborhoods someone would probably call the law on you or assault you for videoing them. Perspective..
Creekwood and Long Leaf Park. Lived in Long Leaf Park for a short period of time and didn't feel it was safe. I grew up in Sunset Park. Both those places have really changed. They have attracted the wrong kind of people.I love Sunset Park when I lived there. I could walk all over the place and no one would bother me.
The recovery community is huge in Wilmington but sadly so is the heroin problem. I have lived in this part of NC for years and the devastation is insane.
I was born and raised here. I'm 57, white, and female. I wouldn't hesitate to travel the route you took or any other one for that matter. If you mind your own business and don't screw anyone over you'll be fine. There are some great people in these neighborhoods!
@@NickJohnson I have sweetie. I’m just letting you know what we technically call the bottom. That area is just south side that you rode through. That’s all.
I live in Wilmington and go to the shops on Castle Street. I’ve never had any issues there or felt afraid. I second the comment about Gary, IN, and raise you the Fair Park area of Dallas 😄 There is a program in Wilmington that grants money to contractors to fix up these 1920’s houses if they turn them into affordable rentals for low income ppl. Maybe we need a Flip or Flop Wilmington?? 🤔
Would never happen because 1/4th of the cities total population are students, between UNCW and Cape Fear. The students heavily support the local economy and work all the shitty jobs that other people don't want. The city rather have these kids parents pay $2000 for rent, than setup a rental program. The housing authority has a 20mil renovation budget for a single one of their properties. Their money is going there.
I live off S 9th. Most people are still recovering from Florence and the homes are just really old. Ive lived in the hood in Syracuse NY and I feel a million times safer here. It is a city so you can expect increased crime rates. I've only been in a couple places that sketch me out but did not see them in your video.
I don't see how it's a "bad" area. I never feel threatened driving around lol. Plus when you look at the crime rate map it's just as bad as downtown Wilmington around 2nd and 3rd Street.
I have lived I Wilmington for 40 years ! I grew up here the crime here has raised a lot in the past 5 years but the areas you have shown in this video are just where a lot of the older people live who just want to be left alone. You want to find the worst parts of town visit Princess St. Garden Lake Estates or Creekwood. But essentially crime is everywhere now days because drugs are running rampant. And they want to take guns away so only the criminals have them. I love my town and it breaks my heart for it to be on this list growing up I don’t remember so many shooting and deaths the hardest drugs I heard of was weed. It was safe to play after dark. I had no clue what sex trafficking was ! Was it really not as bad in the 80s and 90s or was I to young and blind to see what was going on around me.
If u wanted to see the ugly side of Wilmington, you should of been around in the 90's before the so called gentrification. Nesbitt court, robert Taylor homes etc..
this isn't a "hood" or a "crime hole" I've lived in wilmington my entire life. this is literally just an example of redlining and how much wilmington hates the working class.
You are assuming that these neighborhoods are bad? What I don't see is ... Because you probably already know....You are NOTTA RIDING IN THE WORST NEIGHBORHOODS IN WILMINGTON NC because you might get a couples of bottles or WORST thrown at your windshield for filming. TRYING TO GET A 1/2 CENT OR LESS ON UNINFORMED INFORMATION FOR VIEWS IS A STUNT!!! P.S. You never drove through the Bottom!!!
I used to know two people who's houses are near Hall's Drug Store (restaurant when I was there last.) 1:28 They knew the women who lived in the old fire station turned art studio at 1:32. That part of town is OLD and not 'rich' but far from 'bad.'
Jordon lived on Gordon road, which is definitely not the ghetto, and the house is still there, it's actually a nice home. Not sure about his early years in Ny, but he didnt have it bad here.
There's a "Bottom" in most southern cities. Baton Rouge and Shreveport to name a few. And it is bizarre how you can turn a corner and literally be in an upscale neighborhood.
I know Wilmington well and the fact is that while there has been some gentrification appended to the historic district some things haven't changed much. The city has a history of annexing to build the tax base. It isn't the same Port City it was in the 1960s and 1970s. Areas of outright blight are not too large. But, they have the same drug and crime problems so prevalent everywhere. Proximity to the ocean always brings development. It just doesn't distribute itself to all socioeconomic demographics.
I visited Willington a couple times in the tourist area where the USS North Carolina is and never saw any crime. The small city seemed like a chill and relax type of city. But this is just my personal experience.
The only crime I seen was you running a red light. Also, you didn't film the Bottom, which is not the worst neighborhood, please get your facts straight
Compared with some of the scary places you have shown, about 80% of these houses are fine. The problems there must be a reflection of some people, as most lawns appeared well kept.i guess its all relative....one thing i do notice is the nice cars parked everywhere.( from nz)
I’ve only lived here a little over a year, and have traveled to Wilmington previous to that since 2011. I’ve seen some of the truly dicey places in Wilmington, and they were not in this video. If you are from here, I’d be shocked, because I don’t see the worst neighborhood in this video. You need to check your facts from people who have been here a good deal of their life
This is not the worst neighborhood in Wilmington. You are clearly ignorant and have no idea what you are talking about. How come when you saw the black gentlemen on the sidewalk you were trying so hard to turn camera back to record them, 2 white people walking down sidewalk you drive right by???
Take Econ 101. You can't get blood out of a stone. If an area is economically depressed, it takes an outside force to revitalize it; a new industry, an army base, new natural resource, etc. Something has to inject money into the community and if most the people aren't even high-skill labor there's no reason they will be the source of any significant improvement. Read Coming Apart by Charles Murray.
Education. Downtown (rough part) Wilmington is a real opportunity where CFCC and UNC-W could offer education to folks to improve their opportunities in life. Wilmington is so geographically removed from the affluent part of the state, there are mostly service industry jobs. Not well-paying.
No one's mentioning the Northside. When I first came here, one of the bus drivers told me "Since you're a white boy, don't go walking down Campbell Street or Nixon Street".

That's the point

I live in wilmington and this isn’t the “bad neighborhoods” I promise
@@melissairwin7616 I live in the bottom and aside from frequent shootings, I really love this neighborhood. It’s not random violence, it’s all isolated events and I’ve never felt threatened. @@Adult-iPad-Kid I can respect that!.... I can tell you deal with logic and you’re aware of reality! I’m a Wilmingtonian I grew up on 4th and Orange!
If this is the worst part of Wilmington, the rest of town must be amazing. I'm seeing well-kept homes for the most part. Doesn't look bad at all.
I know it's true
Nick. Where are you from ?
It’s actually not bad at all they are remodeling the whole area …. That is the most outdated and least funded area of Wilmington! It’s Not a bad part 😭 just a less cared about part of the city and fyi the all of the areas that you showed are not the bottom

@@letcieglenn386 this guy is clueless
Amen. Well said..
Ĺ
Correct I have been to worst than that not by choice but work.
I lived there as well. No problems.
No I live here he just didn’t go to the bad parts and trust me there are bad parts
I was thinking the same thing! I am researching places to locate to and Wilmington doesn't
seem bad.
He definitely made an overtly pretentious video about working class folks.
Clearly the person doing this video has no clue about Wilmington.

Exactly. 🤦🏽♀️ For those who don’t know, look up the 1898 Wilmington Massacre...

From the general area. Wilmington has nice parts, but half of it is a dump. Income inequality is very apparent here.
What utopian society is it not income inequality? You make more because what you have to offer is worth more.

Overall Wilmington is a good place but I have noticed that some of those obnoxious, know it all Yankees from up north are starting to move here. Yes it is much better. Some areas are bad some are good! It all adds perspective:) so I show a little of everything. Hope you learn stuff!
Why do gou think this is the worst part of wilmington?
That’s the worst example of a “hood” I’ve ever seen
Creekwood and Long Leaf Park. Lived in Long Leaf Park for a short period of time and didn't feel it was safe. I grew up in Sunset Park. Both those places have really changed.
Wow! I remember seeing wooster street maybe 20 years ago as a kid... I drove by it again about 8 years ago.

IT'S A CRAP HOLE. OVERPRICED REAL ESTATE AND NEW JERSEY TAGS EVERYWHERE. MOVING TO THE MOUNTAINS.👍
BYE
Can't be too bad you didn't get carjacked
I drive some of these area's often there are worse areas in Wilmington.
A lot of history there. You produce some really nice videos.
Hey Ken
It seems like in day time it is the same everywhere in America. You only know a place is bad in night time...
This is not the worst neighborhood in Wilmington. You are clearly ignorant and have no idea what you are talking about. How come when you saw the black gentlemen on the sidewalk you were trying so hard to turn camera back to record them, 2 white people walking down sidewalk you drive right by???
I gotta say...as a life long Wilmington resident.. this video offended me.
Why do people never fix up these places?
It looks sad, but has so much nice qualities through the architecture.
🤔 I couldn't see anything wrong with them.
@@norabradley9108 Yeah they weren't bad compared to Detroit or Flint, Michigan.
Education. Downtown (rough part) Wilmington is a real opportunity where CFCC and UNC-W could offer education to folks to improve their opportunities in life. Wilmington is so geographically removed from the affluent part of the state, there are mostly service industry jobs. Not well-paying.
American’s have come to accept that all our cities roads are garbage now. Sad!
They do the best they can to maintain the centuries old historic cobblestone.
Don't really love it, but I never had trouble with anyone there....ever
Most of the problems come from new people who move in
No one's mentioning the Northside. When I first came here, one of the bus drivers told me "Since you're a white boy, don't go walking down Campbell Street or Nixon Street".
I know those are not condos/apartments on 10th & castle streets👀👀
No
Yes. More new development of the “Castle Arts District.”
@@NickJohnson what. The. Heck. Come on now. This is frustrating. Yes they are building new condos. Yes this area is gentrified. Yes they have filmed movies and TV shows in this area. I mean. Should we do a phone interview to help you get your facts together? Jeepers. Gosh.
Love the music. Great work, as usual Nick.
Uhhhhhh you didn't ride through what we call the bottom for one and you didnt go through the worst part of Wilmington. This is my home town. Come back I'll take you! 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I live here hon and yes it is and was
Man if you live here you would have gone to creekwood or houston moore
40 years.ago Wilmington was not like this. Do your research 100 years back and you will see what really happened to Wilmington. Wilmington was black own not long ago. Also the bottom starts from 10th and Orange to 13th and Orange, thats it.
Yooo.... You the Port is where it's at. Especially the SOUTHSIDE. We have it all here in Wilmington. I'm born and raised here. Left and came back. Every city has its areas but the B.O. ..... My playground since around 10 years old.
Eastside lit too
Over here twiddling my thumbs in Northside but grew up in Southside and from a teenager's perspective I'd give it a 5 star review.
I lived at Carolina Beach in the late 70's . When the bars closed we would run up to Wilmington and hit the after hours clubs . My buddy and I would be the only white guys in the bar . Never a problem . If we were too lazy to go there , We would just go across Snows Cut to Sea Breeze and buy liquor from a black guy at a house . Never a problem . I believe those days are long gone .
Yep. There's always Cody's though
Ahh the 70’s ♥️ when life was much simpler , people chatted to each other , you were friends with your neighbours and wouldn’t even worry about locking your door to pop down to the supermarket . You are right . Those days ain’t never coming back 😢
Leaves on the trees in December?
If this is your idea of a "worst" neighborhood, I have to assume you are among the privileged who live in multi-million dollar homes. All I see here are well kept homes with current model vehicles. Where's all the crime? I didn't even see one dead body. Get real or get lost. I LIVE HERE.
