Just a quick update: the Aunt Jackie's side of my hair feels softer than the Eco side, and the curls are more stretched. But even though both sides have more definition, the Eco side curls are holding their definition much better.
i think "elongating" is definitely a gimmick..it's not actually making your hair longer, which is what the terminology implies-- it's just not "shrinking" it as much as other gels. it's all about your hair's actual curl habits.
+Akkesama I see your point but I'm pretty sure the term is about elongation of curls. Elongating=stretching. I never read the word "elongating" to mean anything about hair getting longer - otherwise it would just say something about hair growth. Either way though, it does live up to the elongating claim for me.

i currently layer with aunt jackie’s first and then the olive oil eco because aunt jackie’s alone doesn’t seal it in enough for me but the eco by itself is not conditioning enough. i wanna try a huge tub of natural flaxseed but no one seems to make and sell em in huge tubs :/
Hello there - sorry for the late reply! They didn't but just be careful not to use too much and also use a compatible leave-in - because some leave-ins don't go well with some gels :)
I love your videos and your hair. I've been watching you so 've your hair was much shorter and have found your product knowledge and hair tips helpful. on future products to try....there is a gel cream by ecoco called eco pro styling cream, in particular the yellow one. I like this one but it would be interesting to see what you think. Also miss jessies coily custard. thank you

Hi Nancy, it only works to define your hair's natural curl pattern, so if your hair has a curl or wave naturally it will define it, if your hair doesn't then it won't do anything specifically. I hope that this helps you.
Gel is a styling product. It is not designed to be used on naked hair, that leads to breakage. It is meant to be used with a leave-in conditioner. That is why people complain that gel makes their hair dry and hard and then say that their hair broke... because it's being used in the wrong way.

I found the eco style had my hair feeling very dry after the second / third day. I have to try the aunt Jackies.
That's what mine did. The second day the back was dry and puffy but the front was still curly.

It's pretty cool that the Aunt Jackie's actually did kind of shrink less than the eco styler. Which is what the gel claimed it was gonna do.

I don't use any oils specifically, just products that contain oils, if that makes sense.

You might be right, the only large amounts I've seen are the ones that people make for themselves eg Naptural85 and others.

Do you mean Curl Activator? No, I used it when my hair was texturised but never on my natural hair. Maybe one day!

Michel Angy if it’s a sealing oil you should use it after applying the aunt Jackie’s gel. But yes it works well with oils, at least it does for me.

Maybe because your hair was a bit dry, it was more difficult to take your fingers through the aunt Jackie's side.
I tend to add water to my hair when it starts to get dry so I don't think that was it. It just has a different consistency.
