Hands down best comparison video I've seen for wix vs shopify and I really love the structure and general professionalism in this video. Very strong production.
My husband is using Wix for both our websites, and now they do have Amazon and Apple Pay, so Wix is getting better. They probable should, because of 190 million users!
Wix hands down for me having used both...I only have one store, and two things I was looking for.... a super easy simple DIY idiot-proof user friendly and able build visually stunning site without having to spend hundreds buying templates .... WIX!
🙏 Thank You So Much Teacher Steve for your valuable & insightful tutorial about the Con & Pro between Shopify & Wix! Many Happy Good Blessings in Return to You! 🌷🌿🌍💜🕊
Very very very good video. You saved me a lot of hassle. Was about to switch from shopify after 6 years. They are expensive but I don’t want to limit my potential. Subscribed !! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I've been looking at a lot of these videos recently, and this was really helpful. I'm an artist that wants to set up a portfolio website with the ability to sell online. I think I'll go with Shopify, even though I can imagine there may be months when I don't make any sales so I'd be spending money each month just to keep the store open
I have a mobile car detailing business, wash wax, paint enhancement, etc. Its been months and I still can not decide on a platform. Any advice?? Thank you. Service based business
Here’s a question that I can’t find an answer for … so I hope you can help?I If I build my site using the free Wix plan/templates, then migrate it to Shopify, does the theme that I’ve used in Wix migrate too? … or do I have to pick a template in Shopify and then that’s populated with what ever data/content/media Imigrate over?
No, because the templates for Shopify and Wix are designed specifically for their respective platforms, and their themes and templates are not compatible. You need to choose another template to set up your website in Shopify. Therefore, it is recommended that you avoid migrating unless it is absolutely necessary.
And just as a sidenote I have no computer training other than what I’ve learned over the years working in offices. My basic computer knowledge is literally Microsoft products. But Shopify once you really dig into it and just take it one step at a time you really can’t figure it out with no previous programming experience.
It was a quite good comparison. Thanks! I have a website projects that aims to sell bookings (for more than 10 psychologists) and online books. I could not find a comparison on the web for bookings and digital products between wix and shopify. Which option (wix or Shopify) is the best for bookings and selling digital products? Thank you!
@@mywifequitherjob sounds pretty good over here and only have my volume halfway up and can hear just fine using a iPhone 13 pro max Edit : Very clear sounding as well
Invest in some acoustic treatment too. It’ll help get rid of that ringy sound when you’re speaking. You’re getting a lot of reflection and bouncing around of sound in there. Some absorption would help!
I just switched from wix to shopify and yes you can transfer your domain name just be sure not to edit your “contact info” or it will lock you account for SIXTY DAYS!!!! I learned the hard way and had to raise HELL to get out of it. There was so much back and forth between wix and shopify when it came to the transfer it was a whole a$$ headache 🤕… I had to put them on conference call so they could talk to each other because EVERYTHING they was asking me to do was foreign and as a customer I was stuck in the middle🥹
@@Beeslife777 Hi…. My PERSONAL opinion? It could be just me😓 but I am having a REALLY HARD TIME getting my Google errors fixed for some reason on Shopify’s platform; but I guess I can’t blame shopify…. The POSITIVES I have experienced so far is the ability to ALWAYS talk with a LIVE PERSON that speaks English (no offense) it’s just my first language. They have a chat feature, return call feature, option to email, or request a call back and I REALLY enjoy the flexibility with those options. They are VERY knowledgeable and each and every person I have spoken with #1 goal was always to help educate you on the do’s/dont’s as well as the most beneficial apps to add, not to mention the EASE of website building. I was a little frustrated at first but I quickly got the hang of it. There’s so much more I could say as far as my experience with shopify NO COMPLAINTS other than not being able to increase my traffic, but again that could just be my personal issue; i hope this helps? If your really unsure about it; try the FREE TRIAL and see how you like it before switching; MANY BLESSINGS on your journey; if there’s anything else I can give you feedback on please let me know😇

@@spiritualinstincttarot I switched to shopify about a month ago and have seen a DRAMATIC increase in traffic to my new site atleast THREE TIMES what I seen with wix in only 30 days 🫣
I have a question, on the Wix platform they offer email marketing, allow me to sync up my social media accounts, do analytics, and google ads. I'm guessing they added these features after this video was posted so that is why he said they don't have them. But to the people who use these features on wix or have tested them out, how well did they work for you? And would you recommend them to someone who is starting a business from scratch?
11:10 Gift cards, according to Shopify's price list at of today 22 Dec, the Basic Plan now offers Gift Cards. Hmm. Does that make it a viable for a new store then?
Basically Wiz doesn't support the necessary 3rd party apps required to run a fully featured store. I gave examples. Use the table of contents to rewatch those sections
I sell stuff and offer services,, for example I sell lashes and I also do lashes so I want a Website that will be easy for booking and easy for selling things I am very familiar with Shopify and never used wix before , which one do you think is better
I had to come out of Wix, Wix customer service and technical support is almost 0 no one's there to support you End of the day. Wix is one of the worst platform for serious Business Man.

Wix
Thank you so much for sharing this information. Very useful.
many tks for the info

Which is better for a “membership/subscription” business model? Something like founderscard for example…

Actually, you can put custom HTML and JAVA codes in WIX.

Aww,I just bought wix. I am new to this, but I want to make money. Wish I had seen this before
I'm using WiX and since we only sell a few items (under 15), WiX will meet our needs.
Yes, using a perfectly fitting app to automate the order process would be ideal.
I have a WordPress website for my blog I would love to know if there’s a video by you connecting my WordPress to my Shopify store?

Neither!Etsy steals from both stores! That’s how Etsy gets that money!

Probably ok
Thank you for all of your information! Would you recommend having both? Thank you
No. You really only need one
I think you get a better deal with Shopify to be honest if you're a reseller.
What about a creator
You said wix doesn't do certain things, but they do have some of those features you said they didn't. So not this feels like an ad.
Wait, I thought that Shopify now offers gift cards with the basic plan? I thought I saw an announcement back in 2020.
If I'm not mistaken, that was for COVID times only. But I just checked and you're right, it's still active
Services - which of these would be best for that? I only sell things as a side effect of my services.
Wix can work for services
you barely explained why Shopify is better in ecom than Wix
