Played the demo on ps4. Definately picking it up on ps4! Was alot of fun, reminds me of 90s style games. Not sure why thats a bad thing. Its a nice break from all the same old open world big games.

Exactly. From all the videos I've been watching of Rouge Corps, it looks to have some nice aspects from Neo contra. Neo is a great Title. Just because it's not the traditional 2D Contras we all know of, doesn't mean it's complete trash. Gameplay wise, this looks on point.

I think the game is really fun, but the game is horribly blurry/low res with no anti aliasing in both handheld and docked mode for the Switch version. I played the demo, and the game was really fun to me. I played all the Contra games, and I know this game is different, and more similar to Neo contra, but the game offers a good amount of different situations to play. Graphics are not great, but I can live with that, gameplay is essential for me.
Absolutely I just got the game yesterday and I fired up on my switch and man this game is fired I love it the only thing bad I can said about it is that you can't control the Camara and you can't shoot up but other than that is pretty good I buy the game because a lot of people was talking bad about the game so I decided it to found my self and I'm placed with it

With body parts and weapon customized you can set your character for amazing team play. Like I did with HB with nothing but turrets in main and offhand. I can build the combo meter real fast. When I friend play he fix he parts for when he plays with me to gain more damage the higher combo meter is. By your self u can do it but may sacrificing some damage or improvement else were. I love team base games. Some people may like playing solo which is fine but if you got a team you can do way more.

It IS pretty fun. Was kinda on the fence and the only Contra I really liked was "Hard Corps Uprising", but yeah, it plays really awesome and RGT is just full of crap again, cause hating on Konami is cool and it isn't a side scroller.
Just got this on Switch I think with all the hype for this new contra game when it came out was the death warrant as it wasn't like the classics "Contra" so it got hated but apart from the name "Contra" it's a ok twin slick shooter yes am a contra fan but I can look past its falls and bad game design (meaning twin slick shooter an not going for the classic style) it's a really good game to pass few hours 👍
the game is fine, the graphics could've been a lot better but I enjoyed the gameplay and controls. I can see myself having fun playing co-op with some friends.
I bought this game, played through the first 2 levels and had buyers remorse immediately. It's such a p.o.s. it's not even funny, and this is from a huge Contra fan, if that wasn't obvious enough from my user name... but yeah, terrible. I hung on to it just in case it becomes a rare game people try to pick up 10 years from now and it ends up being worth a hundred bucks or something.

It's like the Contra version of RE Revelations 2 raid mode. Its a fun loot grind with tons of upgradable weapons and sockets. It even has some weird menu music that reminds me it the upgrade menus from RE:R2. I talked so much trash about this game until i actually played it a week ago!

This game is a blast.It does look bad on switch but not bad on ps4.Its fun,grindy and can be pretty funny at times.I have it for ps4 and love it so wanted it for my switch lite but man,the graphics on switch are almost blurry.I dont know why because the switch is more than capable of graphics 10 times this.Eitherway,if you only have a switch,it's still worth getting.Also,if you only played the demo......like all other reviewers,you cant really say if the game is good or not.
Ok, so I downloaded the demo. The game looks pretty good in handheld mode and plays pretty well. I'm not used to twin stick shooters, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. Yeah, on a large HDTV the graphics don't look so great, maybe on par with the visuals of a Wii game., but they are tolerable. RGT your harping too much on the grapphics, when the gameplay is actually pretty good. Also, Krapnami did not make this game, a second party development studio did. So it's lack-luster visuals are on that development team...

thx to reviews like this the game is 2 € cheap when on sale.... don't trust this reviews this game is sick... when you like torchlight 2 or borderlands this game is for you. The visuals are bad but the framerate is rocksolid and the gameplay is 100% fun. The upgrade system is super deep and let you customize your character for your prefered playstyle...
Kind of exaggerating with the graphics there, yeah its not top of line or anywhere close to it. To claim they are PS1 or N64 level from some of these posters that's a BS statement, and said posters need to go back and play some 5th gen console and behold low polygon count, below standard definition resolutions, and low frame rates. No these are roughly first generation Xbox 360 graphics, and no I'm defending it but people need to be little more realistic about expressing something they feel negative about, instead of being prone to exaggerations.
No. If you played and honestly enjoyed Neo Contra than you'll probably like this one as well. Most people they I've encountered are getting tired of side scroller shooters and this is a great change of pace for them. This looks good
I just finished the demo. THIS GAME IS FUN! I had no problem with the game play. As far as the look being bad, I think it’s possible that it’s just the aesthetic that they chose. I’m fine with how it looks. It’s definitely now a must buy. If a demo could get a review I’d give it a solid 7.5 to 8 out of 10. I disagree with your assessment RGT 85. If you want a real old school Contra experience play Blazing Chrome its fantastic its just like Super Contra plus it has unlockable characters and upgrades...I wasn't very found of this new contra either, GOD bless.
That was my mindset, until I found out it's just a generic twin stick shooter. Some of them can be good like Ruiner, but this looks nothing on par with Ruiner which can be bought for about the same price. Rogue doesn't look that bad though, just meh..

@Pezz 82 Blazing Chrome isn't that great imo. Neo Contra was actually fun if people are willing to give it a chance. Shooters need top down 3D at least. We're past the point of side scrolling shooters imo.
Talent matters. Look at Bioware after they lost all of their key developers. Konami lost all of the people responsible for their biggest successes. Igarashi (Castlevania), Team Silent, KojimaProductions, etc. What else do they have left? No talent and no willingness to put a AAA budget on their games is a recipe for trash like this. All they probably have left are Ninety-Nine Nights and NeverDead devs.
Actually the character you're playing as isn't the Bill clone (and Bill isn't dead yet, this is set during the original timeline placement for Contra 4 (they moved Contra 4's spot on the timeline to only be a few months after 3, rather than years after it)), his name is Max Doyle and as the surname implies, he's related to the guy from Contra: Hard Corps that briefed you on the missions: Commander Doyle (though probably not the same person, considering Commander Doyle still has his left hand, while Max has a drill for a left hand).

Yeah I just got my switch lite and was looking forward to this but the graphics kind of let me down.i didn’t expect nothing too big from contra but they could of did a little more.it seems like it’s missing something ..it was rushed and has its problems that’s why they put it at a cheaper price.if you like it cool if not I don’t blame you ..I’ve been playing 2k tryna figure out what to get next .waiting for the witcher3.got that on my Xbox one x and I’m stunned they got that whole game in a small handheld

Just got this on Switch I think with all the hype for this new contra game when it came out was the death warrant as it wasn't like the classics "Contra" so it got hated but apart from the name "Contra" it's a ok twin slick shooter yes am a contra fan but I can look past its falls and bad game design (meaning twin slick shooter an not going for the classic style) it's a really good game to pass few hours 👍
the game is fine, the graphics could've been a lot better but I enjoyed the gameplay and controls. I can see myself having fun playing co-op with some friends.

I bought this game, played through the first 2 levels and had buyers remorse immediately. It's such a p.o.s. it's not even funny, and this is from a huge Contra fan, if that wasn't obvious enough from my user name... but yeah, terrible.
I hung on to it just in case it becomes a rare game people try to pick up 10 years from now and it ends up being worth a hundred bucks or something.

It's like the Contra version of RE Revelations 2 raid mode. Its a fun loot grind with tons of upgradable weapons and sockets. It even has some weird menu music that reminds me it the upgrade menus from RE:R2. I talked so much trash about this game until i actually played it a week ago!

This game is a blast.It does look bad on switch but not bad on ps4.Its fun,grindy and can be pretty funny at times.I have it for ps4 and love it so wanted it for my switch lite but man,the graphics on switch are almost blurry.I dont know why because the switch is more than capable of graphics 10 times this.Eitherway,if you only have a switch,it's still worth getting.Also,if you only played the demo......like all other reviewers,you cant really say if the game is good or not.

Ok, so I downloaded the demo. The game looks pretty good in handheld mode and plays pretty well. I'm not used to twin stick shooters, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
Yeah, on a large HDTV the graphics don't look so great, maybe on par with the visuals of a Wii game., but they are tolerable. RGT your harping too much on the grapphics, when the gameplay is actually pretty good. Also, Krapnami did not make this game, a second party development studio did. So it's lack-luster visuals are on that development team...

But Konami approved of it. If they didn’t that just means they don’t care about the franchise anymore. In no way does this game looks visually any good. Maybe passable in 2010 on the Wii. Just look throughout the eShops. Plenty of cheap indie games looking better than this.
Only real complaint I heard was about the graphics. The rest of it seems fun, if you can get past the visuals.

Hard Corps: Uprising (2011) was the most recent installment until Rogue Corps released, not Contra 4. If you slept on HCU, shame on you! 😂

thx to reviews like this the game is 2 € cheap when on sale.... don't trust this reviews this game is sick... when you like torchlight 2 or borderlands this game is for you. The visuals are bad but the framerate is rocksolid and the gameplay is 100% fun. The upgrade system is super deep and let you customize your character for your prefered playstyle...
Kind of exaggerating with the graphics there, yeah its not top of line or anywhere close to it. To claim they are PS1 or N64 level from some of these posters that's a BS statement, and said posters need to go back and play some 5th gen console and behold low polygon count, below standard definition resolutions, and low frame rates. No these are roughly first generation Xbox 360 graphics, and no I'm defending it but people need to be little more realistic about expressing something they feel negative about, instead of being prone to exaggerations.

No. If you played and honestly enjoyed Neo Contra than you'll probably like this one as well. Most people they I've encountered are getting tired of side scroller shooters and this is a great change of pace for them. This looks good

I just finished the demo. THIS GAME IS FUN! I had no problem with the game play. As far as the look being bad, I think it’s possible that it’s just the aesthetic that they chose. I’m fine with how it looks. It’s definitely now a must buy. If a demo could get a review I’d give it a solid 7.5 to 8 out of 10. I disagree with your assessment RGT 85. You’re still one of my favorite RUclipsrs though😉
If you want a real old school Contra experience play Blazing Chrome its fantastic its just like Super Contra plus it has unlockable characters and upgrades...I wasn't very found of this new contra either, GOD bless.

That was my mindset, until I found out it's just a generic twin stick shooter. Some of them can be good like Ruiner, but this looks nothing on par with Ruiner which can be bought for about the same price. Rogue doesn't look that bad though, just meh..
@@BoozeAholic Ruiner is way cheaper. Don't know Switch prices but on my PS4 it's £15.99 compared to Contra's overpriced £34.99. And Blazing Chrome (which feels far more like a truer Contra experience) is £13.99.

Blazing Chrome isn't that great imo. Neo Contra was actually fun if people are willing to give it a chance. Shooters need top down 3D at least. We're past the point of side scrolling shooters imo.

Talent matters. Look at Bioware after they lost all of their key developers. Konami lost all of the people responsible for their biggest successes. Igarashi (Castlevania), Team Silent, KojimaProductions, etc. What else do they have left? No talent and no willingness to put a AAA budget on their games is a recipe for trash like this. All they probably have left are Ninety-Nine Nights and NeverDead devs.
Actually the character you're playing as isn't the Bill clone (and Bill isn't dead yet, this is set during the original timeline placement for Contra 4 (they moved Contra 4's spot on the timeline to only be a few months after 3, rather than years after it)), his name is Max Doyle and as the surname implies, he's related to the guy from Contra: Hard Corps that briefed you on the missions: Commander Doyle (though probably not the same person, considering Commander Doyle still has his left hand, while Max has a drill for a left hand).
