    You're the reason I bought the Canon C70, and now you're considering switching over to the FX3?! Nooo! Haha, jokes aside. Great video, brother. I love seeing that you're going hybrid mode. I would love to see the full comparisons between the FX3 and Canon C70 and your take on it! 😁

      I have the FX3 and used the C70 two weeks on a project, and I will tell you one thing....The C70 is better 😅

    • @JaviReyes25
      @JaviReyes25  7 месяцев назад

      @@JS_Leger Yes I agree it’s the overall better camera for majority of things. However the FX3 has a lot of advantages over the C70. At the end of the day it’s about having the right tool for the job you do. I can’t wait to share my updated thoughts after having used the FX3 for 4 weddings recently.

      @@JaviReyes25 Yes for weddings the tiny body of the FX3 is really handy for sure! But for my part (even with weddings), I like to have a heavier setup because I do mostly handheld shots

      Amazon lol .. it was sold directly from Amazon and not a third party. They have the best return policy. 😅

    I mix all types of brands. Expose and WB to a grey card. Shoot log. Use Cinematch to transform them all to Arri log and they all match. Obviously some cameras will have better DR or might be noisier in low light. But every camera now is pretty amazing. All comes down to ergonomics and lenses and how enjoyable it is to use.

    Why did u leave Fuji?

    • @JaviReyes25
      @JaviReyes25  6 месяцев назад +1

      Simply, they didn’t have a dedicated cinema camera, but Canon does with the Canon C70. I also don’t shoot photos, but if I do, I’d still prefer a full-frame camera

    Cool video I have both cameras and I have to say I love both of them. I use my sony FX3 on a daily because of its run n gun mobility. I recently bought a FX30 and I use that one even more.

      Get to work, network and find a need in your community that you can provide a solution too. If you can't in your area then market to another location or move else where. There are so many forms of marketing channels we can use now and days it's just about finding the right one for you.

    not sure when canon was industry standard in video ...unless you live in a weird country or something ... as far as i know sony for video was almost the first choice even before mirrorless ... and then panasonic

    • @JaviReyes25
      @JaviReyes25  7 месяцев назад

      If you're in the US, Canon is the standard brand used for wedding photography (still currently) and was for video. Video has seen a significant market shift since the release of the A7S III and especially the FX3. I don't know what that looked like for other industries, as I am only speaking to the wedding industry.

    You shouldnt return somethiny after a month of use, test it out and see if there are any problems then decide to keep it, otherwise it seems a bit unethical.

    • @JaviReyes25
      @JaviReyes25  8 месяцев назад

      Well I decided to keep the camera, review will come out. It's not unethical if the company policy accepts return whether it's new or used.

    • @SeanNeale
      @SeanNeale 8 месяцев назад

      You're literally advocating for multi billion dollar companies at the expense of normal working people. It's literally a customer's legal right to buy a product and see if it is suitable for them - and if it's not then it is also their right to return it within the specified timeframe.

    • @Lathrop_Media
      @Lathrop_Media 8 месяцев назад

      @SeanNeale lol yes, but a lot of youtubers buy stuff on Amazon just to take advantage of this return window in order to make the video and then just return used gear, which is pretty lame. Im advocating responsible shopping. Buy something you want, make sure it works for you, and make a decision. Don't buy something just to test it out if you're not sure, just rent it instead.

      The FX3 is greater than the sum of its parts.
      It has documentary level sound and sound inputs (if you actually care about audio quality this can't be understated). It has the best high ISO mode. The best noise floor. Significantly better autofocus. A significantly larger set of lenses. Some of which absolutely will never be duplicated by other manufacturers because they don't have the technicals. An example of this is the 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II. Panasonic will never have a quad-linear motor, AF that's as fast, an image that is as corrected, nor a lens that is as short and light as the GM II. And other incredibly good lenses like Zeiss Batis, the Sony 20mm f/1.8 G, etc. Not to mention that should you need to, you can always rent higher end Sony cameras and match them or grow your business and move to FX6, Burano, or Venice - there is no higher end camera system from Panasonic worth moving to. Varicam is dead, and the BS1H as an example has incredibly poor ergonomics.
      FX3 is also a quad-bayer sensor, which is why it has significantly higher apparent resolution than a regular bayer sensor. It's effectively downsampling to 4k. 6k in light of this doesn't necessarily give a more detailed image, while also necessitating a much larger file (6k is double the resolution of 4k).
      FX3 also does 1.1x cropped 4k 120 or 4k 60 full width. S5IIx tops out at 4k 60p and it requires a 1.5x crop in order to do it. There isn't another camera that captures slow-motion as well as FX3. And then there is readout speed. FX3 is basically the fastest sensor readout less than $10k with a rolling shutter other than Komodo which is global. If you shoot sports or anything with fast motion, not having skewed lines is also a big deal for a lot of us.
      Is the S5IIx a bad camera? Far from it, it's as you note a camera that punches WAY above its weight. It has incredibly nice image quality and has access to ProRes internal and BRAW/PRR external. It also has open gate, a slew of anamorphic modes. And arguably if you don't want to use AF, the S5IIx is just as adaptable to other lenses as Sony is. It also is an excellent stills camera, the FX3 is not. And certainly if you don't need the features that FX3 offers then definitely go Panasonic. The point I'm trying to make is that there is a good reason for the cost differential between the two systems. Worth it for you or for everyone? Of course not, that's why there is choice. But it isn't cut and dry that S5IIx is "just better". That isn't remotely a true statement. Because as I noted above there are tons of things that I can do on FX3 that the S5IIx also simply cannot do. It's dependent on what you need the system for.
