Good points - I've been shooting a C70 for 11 months and I like it, but don't love it (I'm a long time Canon shooter and like the color overall). CONS of C70 - No EVF, poor low light, and a soft 4K because of no down-resing in the sensor. Respectable autofocus in C70, but Sony is clear king of autofocus. PROS of C70- Built-in NDs, built in audio, great battery life, programable buttons.
Man this is a masterpiece 🤌🏽 the colors are amazing what camera did you use
Thank you! I used the Sony FX3 & sigma 17-28mm F2.8
so freakin good man!
@@_TheShepherd thank you 🙏🏾
Nioooooooce ❤ are you manual focusing or using the LIDAR DJI system?
@@waynosfotoscameras all manual focus. 😬
Using the FX3, ive noticed skintones are fine outside, but mixed lighting or basically anything indoors, the skintones go deep orange. Its fixable if you key out the skin, but that sucks to do that for every shot.
That's very true, I've found myself just cooling down the white balance more than I normally would to help counter that. It's helped, but I know everyone may have a different approach and philosophy to colors.
@@NavolForge I mean, Sonys color science is better than it used to be, but the starting point still is more work.
Can’t wait for timecode video!
Beautiful! What focal lengths did you use?
I primarily used the 45, but I did switch to the 65, & 100 for a few random shots.
Some good info! Just some points, for weddings, i use the R3 and would rate this as the ultimate wedding camera. It is so simple to use, excellence battery, no overheating, 240fps in 1080p, all high framerates look amazing. AF is totally reliable. Back screen is really bright, the image is solid over 10,000 ISO. I never need to do de-noising! The only negative is the size. But it weights hardly more. You only need the bigger gimbal. The question I have is what anamorphic lenses, are you rocking, i use the Blazar remus 1.5 anamorphics? What did you decide on? I do believe you did some work with Ray Roman? Did one of his workshops in Zagreb? Flew from Australia! His work is amazing! Thanks for the info, take care.
Thank you for watching! I’m using the Blazar Remus 1.5x kit i absolutely love them. No I’ve worked or met Ray Roman, but I would absolutely would love too, a pioneer for our industry.
Amazing work.
@@Ultrarmx thank you!!
Awesome work Brother !!! Canon colours still the Best !!!
@@TheDanich78 Agree!! Haha

c70🔥
You can get the R8 which has the same full sensor as the R6ll. Different tools for different jobs.
@@d.edwardsfreelanceeditorvi4212 💯
Had both and and will forever will choose c70 over fx3. Nds and internal raw are a must. I hated using external monitor to use raw and changing nds and lenses durning weddings was a nightmare.
@@banos_eyes I agree! To some extent I’ll still use my C70’s for those weddings where I’d think it be worth it to shoot in Raw and take advantage of the additional offerings from the C70. For most of my weddings I’ll continue to use the FX3’s as A & B cam.
Why did u leave Fuji?
Simply, they didn’t have a dedicated cinema camera, but Canon does with the Canon C70. I also don’t shoot photos, but if I do, I’d still prefer a full-frame camera
Just bought mine, super excited!!😮💨
not sure when canon was industry standard in video ...unless you live in a weird country or something ... as far as i know sony for video was almost the first choice even before mirrorless ... and then panasonic
If you're in the US, Canon is the standard brand used for wedding photography (still currently) and was for video. Video has seen a significant market shift since the release of the A7S III and especially the FX3. I don't know what that looked like for other industries, as I am only speaking to the wedding industry.
@@NavolForge when someone says industry standard i thought you talked about commercial tv etc, weddings where not in my mind at all, hehe... i m pretty curious what was the model of canon they used in USA 10 years ago...where i live noone was using dslr for wedding video only sony and panasonic videocameras mostly on tripod.
Even a C100 MKII is worth it in 2024, so I guess the C70 too 😅
Fx3 is to expensive for what it is. No 6k , no open gate. Panasonic s5 is much better for what i do and what i need for half the price.
That's awesome! You got the right tool for the job. For me the FX3 & C70 does it for me.
@@NavolForge ja we are lucky to live in these days, lots of great options.
The FX3 is greater than the sum of its parts. It has documentary level sound and sound inputs (if you actually care about audio quality this can't be understated). It has the best high ISO mode. The best noise floor. Significantly better autofocus. A significantly larger set of lenses. Some of which absolutely will never be duplicated by other manufacturers because they don't have the technicals. An example of this is the 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II. Panasonic will never have a quad-linear motor, AF that's as fast, an image that is as corrected, nor a lens that is as short and light as the GM II. And other incredibly good lenses like Zeiss Batis, the Sony 20mm f/1.8 G, etc. Not to mention that should you need to, you can always rent higher end Sony cameras and match them or grow your business and move to FX6, Burano, or Venice - there is no higher end camera system from Panasonic worth moving to. Varicam is dead, and the BS1H as an example has incredibly poor ergonomics. FX3 is also a quad-bayer sensor, which is why it has significantly higher apparent resolution than a regular bayer sensor. It's effectively downsampling to 4k. 6k in light of this doesn't necessarily give a more detailed image, while also necessitating a much larger file (6k is double the resolution of 4k). FX3 also does 1.1x cropped 4k 120 or 4k 60 full width. S5IIx tops out at 4k 60p and it requires a 1.5x crop in order to do it. There isn't another camera that captures slow-motion as well as FX3. And then there is readout speed. FX3 is basically the fastest sensor readout less than $10k with a rolling shutter other than Komodo which is global. If you shoot sports or anything with fast motion, not having skewed lines is also a big deal for a lot of us. Is the S5IIx a bad camera? Far from it, it's as you note a camera that punches WAY above its weight. It has incredibly nice image quality and has access to ProRes internal and BRAW/PRR external. It also has open gate, a slew of anamorphic modes. And arguably if you don't want to use AF, the S5IIx is just as adaptable to other lenses as Sony is. It also is an excellent stills camera, the FX3 is not. And certainly if you don't need the features that FX3 offers then definitely go Panasonic. The point I'm trying to make is that there is a good reason for the cost differential between the two systems. Worth it for you or for everyone? Of course not, that's why there is choice. But it isn't cut and dry that S5IIx is "just better". That isn't remotely a true statement. Because as I noted above there are tons of things that I can do on FX3 that the S5IIx also simply cannot do. It's dependent on what you need the system for.
That being said you really shouldn't have to send it in for a repair. I'm glad I got there warranty extended.
gorgeous color grade!
Thank you!! 🙏🏾
* AN FX3
4 0 7 stand up!
Once you go full frame hard to go back imo.
Hey man how can I make money with an FX3 in a small city?
Get to work, network and find a need in your community that you can provide a solution too. If you can't in your area then market to another location or move else where. There are so many forms of marketing channels we can use now and days it's just about finding the right one for you.
You will sell all C70s and get another FX3. This is coming from a Canon fan boy. lol
Haha well I can't wait to make my next video because, a lot has changed since I posted this video. Hoping to make an update video this next week. Now that I have used it for a few weddings.
DGO sensor...that´s what make this camera very special..
Very true!
Several cameras have dual gain sensors, a somewhat common feature actually!
You shouldnt return somethiny after a month of use, test it out and see if there are any problems then decide to keep it, otherwise it seems a bit unethical.
Well I decided to keep the camera, review will come out. It's not unethical if the company policy accepts return whether it's new or used.
You're literally advocating for multi billion dollar companies at the expense of normal working people. It's literally a customer's legal right to buy a product and see if it is suitable for them - and if it's not then it is also their right to return it within the specified timeframe.
@SeanNeale lol yes, but a lot of youtubers buy stuff on Amazon just to take advantage of this return window in order to make the video and then just return used gear, which is pretty lame. Im advocating responsible shopping. Buy something you want, make sure it works for you, and make a decision. Don't buy something just to test it out if you're not sure, just rent it instead.
like the "why not both" meme. thanks for your thoughts!

Came from a C100 M2 (still a great camera!) so my new C70 is freakin' awesome. I understood the pros and cons of the super 35 sensor so no big shock. I still think the Panasonic S52 is insanely great for the money but once you've had built-in ND's very hard to go back. Terrific battery life. My only big problem is no EVF - Outdoors I really find it a problem.Great camera for my documentary style work - still a solid workhorse -
Yeah I use my EVF on my Canon R5C all the time.
@@pizzlesshorts Obviously the C70 is a great run-and-gun camera, especially for documentary shooters - why Canon did not make a EVF even a option is beyond me. I've come up with some DIY solutions but the built in display is useless outside - IMHO
Wassup Javier! I use the Canon C70 for my RUclips channel and professional work as well. I bought mine in Oct. 2022 and I completely agree. I don’t ever see myself investing in another work camera that doesn’t have the following features…Built in ND’s, mini or full size XLR audio inputs, or false color. If the C70 MII has SDI, I’m sold. Great video 🫱🏽🫲🏾
This camera is so good that in 2 weeks from posting this video I purchased an fx3...........
Very true, and my opinion has not changed I still think the Canon C70 is overall superior. However my business needs have changed, and I have to adapt to it. I still own my C70's and I might sell one, or keep all three and have two FX3's. Either way I'll make a video about it and let you know......
Let me know if you end up selling your c70 im in the lookout for one so i could paired it with my r5c
Will do! Are you in FL?

Cool video I have both cameras and I have to say I love both of them. I use my sony FX3 on a daily because of its run n gun mobility. I recently bought a FX30 and I use that one even more.
How is matching the colors.
That’s awesome!
@@ridwanomar5351 easy
Why do you like fx30 more?
I mix all types of brands. Expose and WB to a grey card. Shoot log. Use Cinematch to transform them all to Arri log and they all match. Obviously some cameras will have better DR or might be noisier in low light. But every camera now is pretty amazing. All comes down to ergonomics and lenses and how enjoyable it is to use.
So true!!!
Nice! I am very curious what your impression wil be, will help me make the same decision :)
Thank you! If you have anything specific you want to test let me know.
You're the reason I bought the Canon C70, and now you're considering switching over to the FX3?! Nooo! Haha, jokes aside. Great video, brother. I love seeing that you're going hybrid mode. I would love to see the full comparisons between the FX3 and Canon C70 and your take on it! 😁
Haha most definitely. I’ll be using it for one of my own weddings coming up soon and can’t wait to share my take on it.
I have the FX3 and used the C70 two weeks on a project, and I will tell you one thing....The C70 is better 😅
@@JS_Leger Yes I agree it’s the overall better camera for majority of things. However the FX3 has a lot of advantages over the C70. At the end of the day it’s about having the right tool for the job you do. I can’t wait to share my updated thoughts after having used the FX3 for 4 weddings recently.
@@NavolForge Yes for weddings the tiny body of the FX3 is really handy for sure! But for my part (even with weddings), I like to have a heavier setup because I do mostly handheld shots
Super cool
Enjoyed the video. Subbed. Looking forward to more of your content. . By the way, where can you buy, use it for a month, and then still return it?
Thank you! Can’t wait to put out more content. Amazon lol .. it was sold directly from Amazon and not a third party. They have the best return policy. 😅
Is a new C70 set to release or do we know how much it might change from the current camera. Debating whether to buy now or when the next camera releases?
I have no clue, I've read in Canon Rumors that two new cinema cameras will be announced at the end of 2024, but no idea if it will be a C70 MK2 or C90. The C70 more than capable and will be relevant in the next 3-5 years now. If it checks off the box with what you need, then go ahead and get it.
Literally bought a brand new C70 two weeks ago! Absolutely fantastic camera. I switched from the BMPCC 6K and 6K G2, I just needed something much simpler and requires little to no rigging. Plus it pairs well with my R6 MKII.
Your going to love it brother! Definitely an amazing cinema camera!!
It's crazy how different you feel without a cage. I ended up getting it 3 weeks ago and I'm still trying to figure everything out. Although it was pretty similar to my Canon R5C. I just have no EF glass and I cannot find the cheaper focal reducer in stock anywhere. So I am kind of stuck using cinema lenses or my 24 to 70 right now
The C70 is great but I never got used to using it at weddings because of the size and weigth, in the end I made a trade in adorama, the C70 and speedbooster for 2 Lumix S5II and an S5, the lumix IBIS makes my life easier! But the C70 is nice camera
It's all about finding the right tool that works best for you. I wish the C70 had IBIS and built how Lumix does it because their stabilization is insane!
just fyi, the increased f stop with the speedbooster changes the light gathering only, it doesn't suddenly make your lens go from a 2.8 to a 2 in regards to DOF. It does let you use longer focal lengths for the same angle of view which gives you shallower DOF, but it is equivalent to using a FF camera. Using a 50mm 2.8 on a FF camera and using a 50 2.8 (boosted to f2 with the speedbooster) on the C70 = same image just a stop more light otherwise great video, owned both the C70 and the Fx3, C70's image is way better, but the lack of ibis is a pain for doc work if you don't want to go full RF
Hey, yeah I know that the bokeh doesn’t change only the extra stop of light hitting the sensor does. What I mean when I refer to going to a lower f-stop is I’m getting more light. So true!! What system are you currently using?
@@NavolForge ah shit my bad I miss heard your reasoning to get the C70 for 1.4 shooting (internal NDs, makes sense!) Fx3 atm, miss the C70 🥺 I mainly miss the image (Fx3 crushes blacks in comparison) and in body XLR ports (the top handle for the fx3 sucks, can't mount a heavy monitor in a good spot on that thing). My work around is to record lav audio to a rode go pro (32 bit float is great) and sync in post. But the pros of the fx3 are largely ergonomic based, and the IBIS even though it's not great, it's still much better on micro jitters than the C70, also the C70 was never comfortable to shoot with. An fx3 with a small cage and vmount rig is ergonomically very comfortable apparently canon is about to drop 2 cine cameras though :O pretty exciting
@@louie8488 Yes! that's what most of my friends that have made the switch have said about the FX3. Yeah I'm excited to hear what Canon is about to release. The Canon R5C was suppose to compete with the FX3, but Canon really did not take into consideration what the actual user wanted, and failed us in so many ways with the R5C. It could have really complemented the C70, like the FX3 is to the FX6.
I purchased one a month ago, and I absoutely love it I wish I had purchased one years ago :( I have been using my R6 for video but I wanted something dedicated for video and the image from the C70 is beautiful 🤩
Love it!! C70 is definitely the way to go for dedicated video
Best camera I have ever owned. I considered buying the RED Komodo OG when it first launched, but after holding and shooting with the C70 for 10 min. I was OBSESSED!!! This camera is so much fun to shot with, so yeah it’s diffenately worth it❤️
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Your wedding films look like cinema movies 😍
Thank you! A lot of work has been done over the years to get to that level. The C70 is definitely the right tool!
Thanks for the video, feeling your passion.. What about the image, I mean Sonys look Sony and the C70 is so buttery
I agree! I love the image that the C70 renders. It’s perfect for me.
Even as an FX3 owner, I definitely think the C70 is worth it in 2024. Like so many other cameras on the market, the C70 is a tremendous piece of tech and you can pretty much cut between any of these cameras and fool even the trained eye. I feel like a slew of amazing cameras got released since 2020 and camera tech has almost plateaued. It really just comes down to personal preferences and use cases. These cameras will only diminish in relevancy when 4k ceases to be the standard which might be 4-6 years.
