Are u actually making treble crochets, but saying 'double crochet 3 times'?
She is doing what is called a extended double crochet. Which is yarn over hook once insert hook in stitch, yarn over pull through only ONE loop. Yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through 2 loops again. I hope I have made this clear enough for you to understand.😊
