Wicked Gamer & Collector I have this and when I try to play ps1 games there's no signal past the ps1 logo, PS2 has a strange line noise on screen. My component cable has this kind of 'ticking' interference every few seconds. So yeah wtf!
power on ps2, wait like 10 seconds - 20 seconds push [down] [X] (this brings you to system settings) [down] [down] [down] [X] (this brings you to component video selection) push [right] then [X] (Left, right, up, down are on the D-pad on the left of the controller.) picture should appear thanks for your awesome video, I had no audio, so I had to look up the moves
That last solution worked perfect for me! Thanks. Since you showed step by step from start-up I didn't even need to connect to rgb to see what I was doing to change it which would've been a huge headache. The whole reason I bought it is my TV is wall mounted and it's impractical to actually connect RGB cables.

Thanks for going over the hdmi to ps2 converter. After, no success with recognizing the signal on my smart tv, i borrow a friend's little tv to change the setting in the ps2, and boom! It works. Thanks.
Thanks for the video which appears to have helped many people solve the problem. Yes, I connected the USB to a power source so it's getting the juice it needs. I have a PS2 slim so it should be able to output a composite signal. But *The Problem* is of course - How do I change my console's output from RGB to composite if I can't see it on my TV in the first place? The answer is... do it blind, as per your instructions. Start the console with no game disc present, which puts you in browser mode. Down once to select (X) system configuration, then all the way down to video output, click X, then left to move from RGB to composite, click X. That should do it. I had to try a few times but suddenly there were angels singing - Eureka! I also bumped the display to full screen, then loaded my favorite game and - Wahoo! I'm back in business. THANK YOU I was going nuts trying to make his dongle thing work on my brand new Samsung UHD 4K TV for the past week, and now it does! Thanks again!

I have the ps2 slim, the usb is plugged in, but the screen is only black. Its clearly seeing it has a signal, but never puts any images onto the screen :/ any ideas?
Unfortunately the informations on this video are partly wrong. It's component signal (Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr), not Composite. Also to mention on some consoles with Model 7xxx, the extra USB powering is not needed. On 3xxx models it is needed. Your milage may vary.
Actually on my video amplifier Yamaha HTR-3065, I had more signal either with some game (GT3 and GT4) but I still had the menu of the console, but the resolution was not good! By cons on my TV Sony Bravia live it worked normally with the right resolution! This HDMI adapter has compatibility issues depending on the equipment it is connected to!
Tip 3 worked for me! Thank you was starting to lose my mind. Was strange I bought one of these as could only get the ps2 to work on my tv in black and white but now that this hdmi adapter is working its actually also working in colour using the non hdmi ps2 cables😂
