I have a wood pigeon that comes to see me punctually just before 8 am each day to be fed and returns in the afternoon around 4pm for more food. Doesn't yet eat out of my hand but gets close as I put the dish down. I don't know how it spends the rest of its day but I seem to be in its daily diary.
Wood pigeon comes twice a day too morning and afternoon I put a dish down with a handful of seeds in the morning and the afternoon I will call with the seeds in my palm so he will fly and stand on my forearm to feed and seems that enjoys it.ruclips.net/video/b3kh-TL2VZY/видео.html

@@lucianopavarotti2843 Remember not overfeed as pigeons have to feed at the wild to take their proper diet I think , so they will more active and in shape and capable to avoid predators attacks.

@@stylianoskatsikanis6158 I've seen videos on the you tube, there are racing breed to wood pigeon, the racing pigeon goes to the wild with wood pigeon and they made a nest on the trees😊☺️
Based on experience, I’d suggest not to feed pigeons a lot in one meal; they eat as much as they can take in their lil stomach specially if they’re not alone and that hurts them as well food won’t digest well and will be wasted! 😊 feral pigeons are always hungry…
this is the Columba palumbus, a native of Europe - new Zealand has a different bird, still the same family but both are (confusingly) referred to as wood pigeons. I'm guessing the one you're thinking of is Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae - the New Zealand pigeon
