We have a pair of wood pigeons who are daily visitors to our garden. They get some food and water from us and have become very comfortable and familiar with us. It gives me a lot of pleasure feeding them, as they are virtually part of the family now 😂 Last year they brought their new squab to visit us when it flew the nest and it was adorable!! Unfortunately this year they had two babies, but they both fell out the nest and/or were attacked by other birds. The poor things ended up on our lawn. As it's still early in the season here, I'm hoping they try again! 🤞 Thankfully mother and father are still together and appear to be well.
One of my favourite birds. There's no more soothing sound than the coo coo of a wood pigeon. There's a brave one that visits me several times a day and I can call him down from the trees. His friends want nothing to do with me.
We saved a baby pigeon. Turns out her mother wasn't that far away. We kept the chick outside in protective of weather. Mom came back every night to feed her thanks to us putting seed out. She's flown away but near by with mum. Just leaving seads out for them. I know we did a good job 😂😂❤❤❤❤
Same here, I got a pair nesting in the cherry tree about six feet from my window. Feel strangely proud of them after days they persistently tried to make this nest, those first few twigs constantly falling down to the ground and my disbelief that they could make anything. Yet their nest survived the strong winds we recently had and I have glimpse the whites of eggshells, so there's a moral to be learnt there. My only concern is that they have built directly over a commonly used path and I really hope no egg or chick falls onto the hard concrete.
I love pigeons, unfortunately this species does not live in my country. But we have another species in my country. And they're very beautiful. I have a domestic dove and a domestic turtledove, They live with me. They usually follow me for all my house, as if they were dogs, I love them. Kind regards for all people who love animals, from Quilmes Buenos Aires.
They are not adorable or cute when they start cooing their repetitive call in the early hours of the morning and you’re trying to sleep. The summer is the worst especially when they never leave the trees in your garden and keep multiplying year on year.
J'aime beaucoup.les pigeons .merci pour cette vidéo .ils ont le droit de vivre aussi .bien sur, ils salissent .beaucoup.mais ..a part ça ......merci pour cette vidéo.🙌🙌👏👍😁
I like this very much - pigeons are such interesting birds. There's a wood pigeon nest in a tree in my garden right now and I think the eggs are being incubated because the hen hardly ever leaves. I'm looking forward to them hatching and following the chicks' progress. The nest itself looks small and flimsy, but I guess the pigeons know what they're doing.
Thank you so much for sharing! I have a nest made right above my lean-to and a fox had already got one of the babies 😢. I feel I am personally responsible for the one that is left to survive. He is currently one week old and I am hoping we can make it all the way through.❤️💪🏻 Really glad to have found your video!
I know what you mean about felling responsible. We had some blackbirds nesting this year and if I didn't see one or other of the parents bringing food to the nest for a while, I'd stay staring out the window until one arrived with a beak full of food for the chicks. Glad you enjoyed the video and hope the remaining chick dose well. Thanks for watching!

I currently have wood pigeons nesting in my wisteria bush! Initially they tried to nest on the plinth above my front door but that just resulted in piles of sticks on the ground. Last week I saw them popping in and out of the wisteria with little twigs and since Thursday they have been taking turns sitting on the nest! I have named them Pea (lady pigeon) and Pod.. her husband! So exciting! I have become quite attached to them over the past couple of months ❤️🐦🐦❤️
Wood pigeons are one of my favourite birds, I love hearing their cooing, so it is a delight to see a video on them, especially with their young and seeing the growing process as it is my first time to see it. Thank you for sharing.👍
Currently have two babies in my garden’s mimosa bush, approximately 2 weeks old (same size as 25th June footage). Parents leaving them longer and longer though back every hour or so and in the mornings. I’ve called them Pinky and Perky and shall miss them when they grow up and leave home. X
@@MyBirdingYear both babies fledged on Monday and (fingers crossed) seem ok. They’ve not been back to the nest itself but I’ve seen them a few times making hard landings into rose bushes and sniffing at feral town pigeons to see if they’re friendly. Not bad for something only a month old!
I had a nest in my hop last year (it grew over an arch & a climbing rose & clematis, so it was quite sturdy). They lost an egg early on, but one chick fledged successfully. Their nests are a disgrace though eh? Just a pile of twigs - no actual 'building' involved.😄
One has nested in a tree next to my bedroom window. One of the babies fell down from the nest and it survived. I put it in a box and got the ladder out and took it back to the nest. The father is no where to be seen though. I always leave seed and water out just in case.
I have a question for all wood pigeons enthousiasts. I live in a big city and for 10 years I see wood pigeons settling down there the whole year. The other day, in the end of summer, I saw one adult wood pigeons feeding 5 grown chicks (without the white patch but they could fly). I was wondering if one or several adults could take care of several chicks that's not their own ? Because I never saw wood pigeons having 5 chicks. Or maybe those chicks were just harassing an adult that just wanted to feed its own chick...
There were 2 baby pigeons hatched on my balcony, after 1 week they were gone, is it possible they flew out this early? I live in cairo and pigeons are really small here in the city, maybe they are different?

Sad to hear about this year's squabs but they usually produce 2 or 3 broods a year so they should be trying again. Thanks for watching.

It's cute until it's like 4:30 in the morning and you're trying to sleep, but they're yelling right outside your window and they just won't shut up

I’ve got a wood pigeon nesting in my cherry tree. Can’t wait to see the progress of the chicks when they hatch. From a distance of course 💚
That's great news! Hope everything goes well!

Beautiful video of this nest of Pigeons!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video!
And the Grrrrr sound they make on the nest is lovely too )))
Priceless footage. Woodies are so adorable. Regular visitors they are. I always make sure there is seed for them.

Did you feed them with Avitrol?
Узбекистан птицы очень интересни🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊❤❤
Hello How are you ? I love and like pigeons, when I leave school I always feed them forever, thank you very much for sharing❤🎉😊
I raised a wood pigeon chick. Now that it is an adult, it comes every evening for some food and attention.
я такого вида породы голубей не видел в городе.но они очень мне понравились.

Good to hear everything is going well. Wood pigeons often return to the same nest site so hopefully they'll be back to raise another brood next year.

What happen to one chick?
Must add to my comments. The fledglings were removed from under the tree. Very upsetting.
Did not want anyone to think I was removing from nest!

A fatty, nutritious paste produced in the crop of both parents after the chicks hatch.
So what happened to the second baby on 21 of June 🤔
It said it fell from the nest and didn't survive.

I knew right from the start that one of the chicks would fall given the very poor construction of the nest...:(

No... one of the babies fell out of the nest... sorry mom pigeon.
